~KadeI fucked up.She was the best and worst mistake I ever made.I took the coward’s way out and ran.Now I have a chance to make it right, but she’s being stubborn. It used to be cute, but this time it can get her killed.Boston’s latest serial killer has his sights set on the only woman I have ever truly loved, and I will keep her safe even if it pisses her off, even if she hates me for it.All … her off, even if she hates me for it.
All bets are off this time. I want her. He wants her. Only one of us will win.
And I never fucking lose.

He left me broken, shattered. Pain unlike any I’ve ever felt filled me in the wake of his absence.
Six years later, I thought I’d finally gotten over him and moved on.
But Fate is a tricky bitch. She likes to torture us.
She brought Kade back to me, but I won’t ever hurt like that again.
I just have to stay out of his bed until this is over.
Fate is a cruel, cruel bitch.

Though I didn’t like this one nearly as much as the first book, it’s still worth reading. The book itself felt rushed with the writing, but the storyline was still good. Angel didn’t grab me right away she was very standoffish. Kade one 100% male and I loved him from the beginning. You get more of the mystery from book one and alot of those questions are answered. Still a great book don’t let my review sway you, that’s just my personal feelings on it! I’m still going to read the rest of the series,I think Apryl has great writing skills and I’m eager to continue with the rest of the brothers stories
I absolutely loved the original. Out of the entire series this book has been my favorite and even the additions still keep it my favorite in the series. Apryl does an amazing job with Kade and Angel’s relationship, she sucks you in with suspense and keeps you there throughout. If you don’t read any other book this year, make sure you read this one, especially if you love criminal minds (this would make a great episode).
I love this updated version of one of my favorite series. Each of the Kincaid brothers is so sexy and I love each one of them.
I read the first edition and loved it. This anniversary edition made me love Cade and Angel’s story all the more. This version highlights more of their individual journey and it just draws you in.
I know this is an anniversary edition but it’s my first time reading the series so I can’t comment on any changes or additions. I can comment on the story and my comment is that I love it! I love the characters, both the main characters and also the supporting cast. I love the storyline and how it deals with real world emotions and struggles. I also love th dark side and the twists and turns this story takes. It’s complex without being confusing. it’s a real page turner!! So well written. I love the story progression and the flashbacks that fill in the blanks. Really great! i recommend to everyone!
This is the second book in A Manwhore Series and it is great. Kade is one on Nik’s older brothers and is an agent with the BAU. He is working on finding the serial killer terrorizing women in Boston. Angel works as a bartender at Pop’s and while on break witnesses the serial killer dumping his latest victim and the killer now has his sights set on her. When Kade shows up at the bar he finds the witness is none other than the wife he left after his undercover stint to infiltrate the cartel Angel’s brother worked for. Kade failed to file for a divorce and conveniently“forgot” he was married for the last 6 years as he went through woman after woman. Needless to say Angel is not pleased to see Kade, is shocked they’re still married and scared she’s now the target of a killer. Kade has to keep Angel safe while trying to catch the killer and deal with his and Angel’s feelings. This book had me laughing and crying and biting my nails.
A serial killer, a past with more heartache than one should ever experience, a future forged through adversity, and a blast from the past that threatens to shatter what’s left of her heart. Angel is in for a wild ride and her happily ever after might not even happen. After witnessing a body dump by the serial killer plaguing Boston she’s in major danger. The FBI agent tracking the killer who comes to interview her is none other than the man that devastated and broke her years ago. And the best part? Apparently she’s still married to the man and he forgot he was married at all. They’ll have a long way to go if they hope for anything together unless they don’t catch the killer before he catches her.
Angel was a young girl with more maturity than anyone as young as her should have. Her brother Peter is her world and his friendship with Kade brings a love into her life she never anticipated. Their tumultuous relationship wasn’t one filled with hearts and flowers but it was something she counted on, believed in. Until one night destroyed everything she ever believed in, everyone she loved. With a dead brother, a miscarriage, and a broken heart, she’s left alone to pick up the pieces of her life. She does well for years and has big plans for her college degree and business plans. And then one small breather behind the bar she tends brings consequences she never saw coming.
When Kade walks into the bar to interview a witness it’s the green eyes filled with fire and a solid punch to the jaw that wakes him up to a future he never thought he deserved. He forgot to divorce the spitfire with red hair and a target on her back. Unsure if it’s luck, fate, or a cosmic joke, he’s determined to protect her and maybe, just maybe, their chemistry can help him salvage what’s left of his heart because that remaining piece is held solidly in her hands.
There’s an intense amount of danger surrounding Angel and the roller coaster of feels just never stops in this book. I was blown away by how horrible I could feel for her situation. From her dealing with their past to what she has to endure at the serial killer’s hands, there’s almost no end to her turbulent emotions. Kade stirs things in her she thought she’d never feel again and the weight of the life he chose to live without her is almost crushing. The extent of what she suffered through is immense and as she and Kade work through their past and their current feelings it’s their love and her inner strength that give her the courage to believe in a future, not just for her, but for them.
I despised Kade and yet wanted to see them work it out. The whole “forgot” thing was the worst part of it all for me and even after reading their follow-up in Kade I still don’t know how much I love the man. I love him and yet I cringe hard any time his epic screw up is mentioned. Each time she revealed something else she had to survive alone and how those revelations affected him I crowed inside because I wanted him to really see all that he left her alone with. No amount of running and apologies was going to fix what he did. Only when he commits to now and from here on out and fully understanding his role in everything can I accept them being together.
Their story isn’t finished, though, and I’m actually looking forward to seeing them fight for their happiness and their family in Kade. I have a lot of hope for these two because with how low, how destroyed they were, they deserve more, they deserve happiness. Their souls couldn’t find home with anyone else for a reason and their journey is nothing short of a violent storm. Through forgiveness and redemption, though, they can finally find peace. The entire Kincaid family is incredibly interesting and I’m definitely looking in to the Manwhore series as well as the rest of the men in the Kincaid Security and Investigations series.
