When I was a kid, my best friend betrayed me in the worst way possible, ripping my family to shreds in the aftermath. She ruined my life in one fell swoop, and didn’t even have the heart to warn me.Now, nearly a decade later, I’m back in the town I grew up in, determined to make her pay. They say revenge is a dangerous game, but I’ve never been one to play it safe. There is nothing I’ll love more … nothing I’ll love more than to find her weakness and use it to destroy her. The lie she told all those years ago will be her undoing.
Savannah Montgomery may be queen of the rich and entitled, but she’s about to meet her match.
THE SINNER is a standalone and part of the Haven Grace Prep series. It contains angst, violence, and scenes that may be triggering for some readers. If you’re looking for a sweet love story, this may not be for you.

This is my first book by this author and I found it amazing. I sat down to read a couple of chapters and the thing I know it’s hours later and I had finished it. In fact I devoured it. The story pulls you in and the characters steal your heart.
Savannah and Grayson are the type of characters that you love to hate. They were childhood friends separated by a tragedy only to be brought back together with one hating the other. Oh yeah, it’s exciting, sexy and full of anger. I loved it! This is the start of a great series that you definitely need to check out.

OH. MY. GAWD! What a ride! The Sinner took me on a roller coaster ride of feels with plenty of angsty goodness that my little heart desires. I’m sometimes hesitant to read a new author, but something about this book called out to me, and I am so glad that it did. Everything about this book is absolute perfection! Kelsey Clayton hooked me right from the start, and kept me obsessing long after I finished.
Savannah “Savi” is the Queen Bee of Haven Grace Prep. She’s a senior and the captain of the cheer squad with dreams of getting a scholarship to Julliard. On the outside looking in, it seems as if she has the picture perfect life, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. She is just very good at keeping things hidden behind a flawless public façade.
Grayson “Gray” is the new quarterback at the school. He left town eight years ago, but now he’s back and hellbent on getting revenge on the girl who tore his family apart. Once he finds the leverage that he needs, he sets his plan into motion. But after a moment of weakness, he gets one taste of her and finds that he just can’t stay away.
The Sinner is a friends-to-enemies-to-lover’s story that rocked my whole world. The story was blisteringly hot and delicious and filled with so much bully goodness that I love. This book has everything you want… Angst, lies, secrets and steamy scenes. Kelsey did an amazing job on this bully romance, and I simply can’t wait for book two!
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
This is my first Kelsey Clayton book and holy wow, I have no words. None. But I am going back and adding all of her previous works to my TBR because she left me completely and utterly speechless.
Grayson and Savannah’s story captivated me on a level that totally floored me. They were everything I didn’t even know I was missing, but now that I had the chance to read them, I can’t imagine not having them on my reading list.
From the very beginning, you’re pulled into this story. You hate Grayson from the start because you want Savannah to be okay, especially with the opening we had. The side characters have you just as invested as the main characters. As the story evolves and the plot develops, you feel everything the main characters are feeling.
I’m not even sure what to call this trope, because it’s second chance, friends to enemies to lovers, and it is so full of angst that you can’t help but feel the tension as you read. You can’t put the book down, you can’t do the laundry that needs to get done, you can’t even think about food because you need the answers and you need them right now.
If you’re looking for a book that checks all those boxes, then this is the book for you. I can’t wait to see what else comes from Kelsey in this series.
Five stars for this angst-filled read that has you on your knees as you feel every single emotion throughout the entire book.
This is my first book I have read by Kelsey Clayton, and I really enjoyed it.
Savannah and Grayson were neighbors and best friends growing up. Some things happened and Grayson had to move away and blamed Savannah. Their senior year of high school Grayson moves back and wants to make Savannah’s life hard because of what he went through. Not knowing that Savannah is having a rough home life.
Grayson wants to torture Savannah, but at the same time he has feelings for her. He still likes her from when they were friends before. Savannah has a hard time with him being friendly one moment and mean the next. Can she survive his torment? Can he move on from the past and be there for her?
This book is told in duel format which is one of my favorite writing styles. I like knowing what each character is thinking.
I really liked this book, and can’t wait for the next one in the series.

Absolutely amazing book ,Kelsey blew me away with this super addictive bully romance.
A gripping read that hooks you from the first page pulls you in and refuses to let go till way after you’ve read the last word.
I loved the banter between all the characters the connections and friendships portrayed are perfect, I laughed and cried and the angst of the build up was fantastic.
Kelsey tells a story of heartbreak and betrayal ,with grays only goal being to seek revenge and savi is his target but not everything is what he thinks.Secrets and lies unfold with dramatic consequences…
Brilliantly written addictive story with all the feels I will definitely be reading more from Kelsey I cant wait for Saint…..
This is the 1st in a new series, and my word, I am blown away!! Savannah just want to finish senior year and get out of town, but the new quarterback Grayson is back in town after being away for years and has other ideas. Grayson is on a mission of revenge and she is his target. No spoilers: this is a definite must read, you will not be disappointed. This is a well written flawless story which is filled with angst, emotion, revenge, bullying, and is a gritty and heartfelt read which had me totally enthralled throughout this riveting tale. I cannot wait to read more in this series, and I highly recommend for all lovers of 2nd chance enemies / lovers’ stories. Hat’s off to this gifted author for penning such a brilliant story!!
It was a good story with likeable characters, I can’t wait for book 2!
I love when you take a chance on a new author and it pays off, this certainly won’t be the last book I read of Kelseys.
This is a mix of enemies to lovers and a bully romance between teen antagonists Gray and Savi. The two had been best friends growing up but when Gray returns we see none of that. I liked the slow drip feed of the past where we learn more about their friendship and how it all fell apart. Savi’s strength comes across throughout the story even when I was screaming at her to talk to someone I still liked her. Gray was a guy of two halves, the one we meet at the start who was cruel and dismissive and he was also the young man who was protective and willing to go to any lengths to prove his worth and I liked both sides of his personailty. I liked the secondaey characters and will look forward to reading more from this series.
Savannah Montgomery attends Haven Grace Preparatory and is one of the most popular girls at school and also the cheerleading captain. Yet she is also hiding a life that nobody but her best friend Brady Laurence knows about and she plans on keeping it that way.
Grayson Hayworth has just moved back to town and is the new quarterback and for Haven Grace and when he sees Savannah at school he has plans on destroying her for ruining his life.
Grayson will use anything against Savannah and how far will he go to destroy her? Yet at the same time he is still drawn to Savannah who was once his best friend and the girl he thought he would marry.
Will Grayson get his revenge?
Wow!! This is another awesome bully romance that had me hooked from beginning to end and I didn’t want to put the book down!!
I loved Savannah and I soon understood why she kept her life so much under wrapped and how her school behaviour was to keep people at a safe distance. I loved her relationship with Brady and how he and his mom were there for Savannah. I also loved her passion for dancing and how she knew it was her only escape from town and she worked hard to try and get a scholarship for Juilliard.
Grayson is one of those characters that you hate right from the beginning but you also know something happened in the past to make him hate Savannah so much. Slowly you begin to learn why but there are still so many gaps. He treated Savannah so badly but at times you could tell he was so conflicted with what he felt like he owed his dad and how he was beginning to feel himself.
My heart broke for Savannah and what she had to endure from her drunk father. I couldn’t believe that she had kept that secret from everyone, including Brady and I hated that she had no one to protect her.
I was so mad at what Grayson did to Brady and then my heart dropped when he learned certain things about Savannah and how he planned to use it against her. I was happy when Knox told Savannah what Grayson but I knew it was tough for Savannah to put everything together. I hated Grayson after Savannah’s birthday but I was happy that he sent Delaney to see Savannah although that ended up creating more problems for Savannah at home.
I was so mad at Trey for revealing what he did and then what happened to Savannah in the aftermath. I was so furious at Grayson for his actions and how he purposely tried to make Savannah jealous. The dance sounding amazing and it really made Grayson realize some things! I was happy when Grayson discovers more of the truth and everything Savannah had been going through.
I was happy when Grayson finally revealed everything but when I figured out what Savannah was planning on doing my heart just broke.
The end was awesome with a little twist I did not expect but I was super happy!!

This was my first book by this author and I am blown away by how great this book was!!! I can’t wait to read the rest of this series when it releases.
If you are a fan of a High School Bully romance, then this is the book you NEED to read. I have to say this is one of my favorites in this genre.
I will be honest and say I was a little worried that I wasn’t going to end up liking Grayson….his character was tough to love throughout this book, but in the end he did redeem himself and I fell for him. I just wish we would’ve seen more of that side sooner in this story.
This book is also a friends to enemies to lovers story. I loved how the author played out Savannah and Grayson’s past throughout the book. We got little flashbacks about what happened 8 years ago and it just kept me wanting to turn the pages to see how it all played out.
There was something between Grayson and Savannah that I was totally drawn to and couldn’t help but root for these two characters. Grayson was an Alpha male who was set on getting revenge for something that happened in the past. Savannah is a girl who dreams of going to Juilliard but also has a huge secret that she doesn’t want to get out. The connection they have was put through the wringer, but there was just something about them you just wanted to see them get their HEA.
Add this book to your TBR list NOW!! This is a book you will want to 1-click as soon as it releases. This will definitely be added to my Best of 2020 List. I look forward to more books by this author.
The Sinner is nothing like I expected and it has me craving more from this series! Kelsey Clayton is a new to me author and I went in blindly and I am so glad I did. The Sinner is incredible. Savi and Gray will give you butterflies in your stomach and have your heart in flutters. Savannah and Grayson are childhood best friends who were inseparable until one day Gray left and neither one understood why or what happened. There are so many layers to this book and the twists and turns had me at the edge of my seat. I literally started this book one morning and did not put it down until the I read the very last page. I am hooked on Haven Grace Prep and I cannot wait for me. This book is a MUST READ and I suggest going in blind and you will be thoroughly pleased!! I’m ready for more Kelsey Clayton!!
The Sinner is a young adult bully romance set in the Haven Grace Prep. School mainly. The two lead characters Savannah Montgomery and Grayson Hayworth knew each other when they were young and became best friends. After many years apart they end up back at the same school but Grayson is out for revenge- against Savannah.
Grayson was an arrogant young man but his life hadn’t always been easy and through traumatic circumstances, he had become quite bitter towards some people from his past. While I felt for him he annoyed me too because he was basing his future on the past. His attitude toward Savannah even confused him, it showed him how deep his feelings were.
Savannah was the character I felt the most for in the story, I related to her even though I didn’t like her snarky, superior attitude at school. I understood why she adopted this method but it really wasn’t her. My heart just about broke for her with everything she had been through. She certainly had it tough but her inner strength shined through her tragedy.
I enjoyed this second chance at love and friends to enemies to lovers book, yes, it was all of those things but even more. Behind the romance is a slight mystery that keeps you guessing. It’s not supposed to be a huge surprise but there definitely is a twist.
I totally recommend this story and am already looking forward to book two, The Saint.

A bully romance with a bully that you will hate to love, but also love to hate. Oh boy, will you go back and forth with this twisty emotional ride. Kelsey Clayton sets up the story perfectly to when you think you cannot like Grayson for the things he’s done, she sucks you back in and tugs those emotional heartstrings so hard that you find yourself right back to where you doubted what could ever be wrong in the first place. Savannah seems a glutton for punishment, but her story will knock you to your knees and then you know no gluttony was involved.
The Sinner is like falling down a rabbit hole of twisted emotions and you do wonder if you won’t come out the otherside just a little bit bruised, but you also don’t care because you have to know what is going to happen to these two people.
This friends to enemies to lovers story is high chemistry where you watch them pour the gasoline on the fire and you just can’t take your eyes off the flames as it ignites both of them in the inferno.
