“Luca….”She whispers my name at night, filling my dreams with her haunting beauty. Her tormented amber eyes beg me for something I don’t understand, and her agonizing pain becomes my own.For years, she’s come to me, calling my name. For years, I’ve never known who she was.Until now….
I’ve read previous books by this author but this is definitely by favourite so far. This is truly an amazing and beautiful read.
Who is the woman visiting Luca in her dreams?? What follows is a fast paced read where secrets come out and the truth is revealed.
This book consumed me. When I wasn’t reading it I was thinking about it. It sucked me up from start to finish.
Although I guessed which way the story was going to go there was some twists I didn’t expect. Even with guessing it was still a fantastic read. I’m really looking forward to reading more from this author.
Wow, this book was fantastic.
I have read most of Alex books and I will have to say this is my favourite and I have loved all this author’s books.
It is different from any of her other books it is emotional and intense and the story just keeps you turning the pages to try and find out what is going happen, It is very well written. I was hooked from the start.
Luca has been having dreams for years about a girl with amber eyes for years she been in his dreams calling his name. Suddenly things happen, things start to become clearer, and some parts are heartbreaking.
However, you will love some characters and hate some.
It is pretty fast paced book once it gets going but it will have you on the edge of your seat. I really did not see the twists and turns that happened. I could not even put this book down. If you are looking for a great read then I promise you will not be disappointed with this one.
Alex has blown this one out of the park.
Where do I even begin!? First of all, I love how twisted Alex Grayson is! The first chapter or 2 I had a hard time getting into but only because i’m impatient lol. But once Luca sees Jules; it was game over!! I couldn’t stop reading. Idk how many times I threw my tablet or yelled out. I’ve never hated or been so disgusted with a character. So many twists and turns and jaw dropping moments. Then when it all clicks…..unbelievable!!!
Would hands down recommend this book to any of my friends. Without a doubt an amazing job, Alex Grayson!!!

it was amazing
WOW!! When I read the blurb for this book I was intrigued, so I knew it had to be read. However it in no way prepares you for the depth of this story.
Told by the 2 main characters, Luca & Jules, this story will twist your head and your heart. At times you’ll find yourself saying What The?? and others your heart will be hanging on by the tiniest thread. I loved both of these characters. Luca would feature in any womans’ fantasy, the very hot Alpha male who will stop at nothing to protect those he loves. And Jules, a woman who has been through more than any of us could handle, but still retains her strength.
This book is so well written that you can’t help but be pulled right into the story and feel everything the characters do, from love to hate, sadness and joy. And it doesn’t stop there, just when you are sitting there thinking to yourself “I know what’s going on” Bang whatever that thought was is turned on it’s head. I couldn’t put this book down, it certainly embodies the term page turner, and I loved it.
I have read numerous books by this great author and every time she really knows how to throw you into a tailspin. This book will definitely be right up there in my top 5 reads of 2018. Congrats to the author and I can’t wait to see whats next.
Wow, what to say about this book. It sucked me into and I couldn’t stop reading because I needed to see what was coming. There are so many twists and turns that it will keep you head spinning. Luca’s dreams are filled with a women who he has not met but that all changes one day when he discovers her. The secrets of her come spilling out. This book…… you definitely don’t want it spoiled for you so my review will be vague. You need to go in with only the blurb and experience all the torment, love, hate, angst and every other emotion you will feel as you turn each page. Ms. Grayson knocked it out of the park with this read. I always fall in love with her characters and love her books even though she is good at making you cry.
3.5 stars
I’ve read and enjoyed several books by this author, so I was surprised when it opens with a bit of a supernatural feel to it. Not a bad thing, just not what I expected. As I kept reading, that part begins to make sense and while it’s not supernatural, it is eerie. The story is also incredibly dark and emotional, and some scenes are difficult to read. There is romance as Jules tries to understand her reaction to Luca in spite of everything she’s told about him. I have to say that the suspense side of this one fell a little short for me as it was pretty easy to figure out what what going on and where it was all headed. There is a big twist, but by that time, I expected that one too. Twists and predictability aside, the story is rather far-fetched, but it still held my interest and kept me turning pages – not only to verify that I had it figured out, but also to see how everything came together and whether the characters would get some closure in the end. All in all, Alex Grayson gives us a tale that is a lot dark and twisted with a side of sexy romance.
Awesome read. The author has this story filled with plot twist and betrayal, jealousy and deceit. Now this is really the kind of story where you have to choose your words carefully. There is a lot that goes on in this story and while it is drawn out in places it really is a good read. The characters, well under the circumstances the characters were awesome along with caring and loving family. I was intrigued by the blurb and captured by the story. I haven’t read anything from this author before but I can most definitely say I will read more. These two were hot and passionate and yes there are some scenes that while they are towards the minor scale may be triggers for some.
4.5 I will remember this story Stars!!
Alex Grayson has talent in taking a story and weaving it so beautifully that you can’t stop reading until you’ve turned the last page and exhale.
Lucas is every woman’s dream alpha. Takes care of what is his, even takes care of what isn’t his. Covered in tattoo’s and piercings. Works out and takes care of his body. Loves his family and would do anything to protect them.
His life revolves around tattooing at the shop he bought from his father. Carrying on the family tradition of inking.
Life in the town he has grown up in, lives in and works in, is divided. Train tracks separate the town. The haves and the have nots…. People don’t care about the have nots. Even the police, they finish up eating the donuts before heading out on a call.
Jules is from the haves side of the tracks. Married at a young age, her family disowned her when she said she was in love and getting married. All because the man she fell madly in love with was from the have nots side of the tracks.
This story sucked me in from the get go. Turning page after page trying to figure out who, what, when and why… The most important…Why!!!

Alex Grayson is naughty. What is your only recourse when an author you respect and fan girl over lies to you- you keep reading of course!!!
The Sinister Silhouette is a total mind f@ck. Not kidding on the absolute twisted paranoia that ran through my crazy, judgemental mind. I formed an attachment and that was all she wrote. I was right though….so…
This book is crazy. The blurb is so intriguing it was impossible not want it. The first couple of chapters will have you out for blood but are merely a teaser of what’s to come. Somethings you just can’t imagine. And that’s why Alex Grayson writes them down for you!!

For years Luca Hendrix has had dreams of a woman calling his name. His problem is he doesn’t know who she is or why he dreams about her pain and tormented face.
When he finally finds her and learn who she is, things don’t get much better. She’s lost her memory prior to the traumatic events that put her in the hospital and can’t answer any of his questions.
Lies, deception and a close knit family in the midst of it all is the set up for a great story of a love that will find its way despite all obstacles.
I really liked this book. One of the things I like about Ms. Grayson’s work is that her stories are very different from the run of the mill love and HEA we are used to read and this one doesn’t disappoint. The writing is amazing with a great plot and it held my attention from the beginning despite the fact that, at least for me, there was no mystery as to what happened as much as to how it happened. Even under those circumstances, I found TSS was a great read.
This blend of dark suspense, unexpected twists, and shocking moments make this romance unique. I really enjoyed it!
couldn’t put it down…
I loved the storyline and the characters but I thought the book was a bit too long. After a slow start, the excitement started to build as it became clear where the story was going but then I felt the middle of the story lost its momentum, only to peak again for the fantastic ending.
I’m so in love with this book, Alex Grayson really knows how to tell a story. Luca has been having dreams about a women for years that he didn’t know but felt a connection with, when he finally finds her she is in a coma.
The story starts to unravel from there and the lies and betrayal was so heartbreaking. This story really gets deep and shows how love can conquer all. The connection between Luca and Jules is undeniable but they can’t explain it. The twists and turns will knock you off your feet, such an emotional rollercoaster. This is truly a must read, you will not be disappointed.
This is the first book and I have read by this author… pulled in by the blurb for a while now I decided to bump it up my list and I was so glad I did. Hooked right from page one, the book draws you in and keeps you captive. It’s haunting and dark in places but also a beautiful love story.
Told from a dual POV, the book takes a steady pace as the plot starts to unravel. I did work out quite a few of the twists but there are still plenty to keep you guessing right to the end. The authors writing is very emotive and descriptive giving you all the feels. I instantly fell in love with Luca. Aria was just the cutest too. Alex Grayson has also given us a character to despise, I love books with a good villain who gets his long awaited comeuppance at the end.
I will certainly be reading more of this author. If you love hot, romantic suspense one click this author. You won’t be disappointed.
An intense read that runs you through a gamet of emotions. This book draws you in from the very beginning with Luca’s dreams of an unknown woman and how the dreams and woman haunt him. As the story progresses, the reader is drawn into a dark take of love and hate that will leave you feeling breathless from the emotional rollercoaster ride the story takes you on. A great read that will keep you turning the pages until the end.
A beautiful and haunting story with a huge twist, it held my heart in it’s grip until the end.
I sat down with The Sinister Silhouette and inhaled it in one sitting, and now I know that I can never write a review that will do justice to this story about a love that transcends the conscious mind.
How is it that some books literally smack you in the face and leave you with a physical shock! Yeah, books do have their shock/horror moments, but never before have I had such a physical shock and feeling of grief to a moment in a book. I had heart palpitations, the shakes, and had to step away from this book, but only for a single moment because I had to, I just had to get to the end. Alex Grayson delivered emotions in spades, literally over the back of my head.
Luca is the most beautifully written man, and I loved everything about his character. He’s gorgeous and sexy, tattooed and pierced, will doing anything to protect his family, yet he’s also sensitive and loving to his young niece. The patience and protectiveness he shows to his mother, sister, niece, and the woman he loves absolutely melted my heart.
Jules is the strongest and resilient of characters and she has been through so much. She’s the woman who has haunted Luca’s dreams for years, and their story will grab you and keep you captive until the end. I absolutely cannot recommend The Sinister Silhouette highly enough as a must re-read 5 star book!
An unusual plot with a very twisty story
The first third of the book was a little slow, scoring more of a ‘like’ rating (3 stars). However the remainder was much more captivating, gaining 4 stars, so overall I’d rate this as 3.75 stars.
This is a well written and intriguing stand alone, romantic suspense with compelling dreams and forgotten secrets. Whilst there is some violence, and an attempted assault on the heroine I really wouldn’t classify this as a dark read, since these acts aren’t between the hero and heroine.
The blurb was very intriguing and the book carried Alex Grayson’s name, together that was enough to pique my interest and get me reading this book. As a rule I enjoy the author’s work, finding her style easy to read and her characters engaging. I was expecting perhaps a paranormal twist and a darker read than this, whilst I didn’t get that I did get a solidly good read.
This is a story of strange dreams of a woman who turns out to really exist. When Luca finds out he was the reason she ‘disappeared’ he is not only devastated, but scared by his strong feelings for her. Luca isn’t a dangerous man by nature but he can be violent in order to defend those close to him.
Jules doesn’t remember Luca or her husband, but why do they both make her feel very strong and very different emotions?
I really liked both Jules and Luca, their characters shone through most when dealing with those they cared about. They were well fleshed out and had a very real connection. Whilst the plot pushed being believable with (view spoiler), it was the catalyst that allowed the subsequent actions initiated by the ‘bad guy’. This is fiction and these type of coincidences are possible, so I didn’t have a problem with it.
There are some pretty strong hints throughout the book as to what the ‘twist’ might be. I’m fairly certain you’re meant to catch on quite quickly that all isn’t as it appears as the author virtually has flashing neon signs at several points throughout the story. For me the enjoyment and suspense was much more in when and how the truth would out, rather than what the truth was. I also liked that we didn’t have one ‘secret’ (eg who is the girl in the dreams?) dragged out for the majority of the book, I hate that trope. Instead we had breadcrumb reveals, that lead to further secrets and lies to sort through and solve.
This is an 18+ read and does contain both bad language and sex. There are a couple of attempted sexual assaults and a remembered (but not in detail) rape.
I actually didn’t like this book to begin with, and I started not to read it, but I’m glad I did. It does have a few touchy subjects but that’s what makes it a very good book. Luca and Jules deserve each other and so much more! You did a very good job Alex Grayson!
A book that makes my heart beat too fast, has my nerves on edge and brings tears to my eyes deserves 5 stars – that’s this book.
I was tempted to leave my review at the above statement but it needs more words.
This story features a perfect family, Luca, Ella and Theo and little Aria along with the supportive and caring mum and dad. A mum and dad that are still in love after their kids are grown – as I said perfect.
Luca is the main man, his a tattooist? is that a word? Oh well he does tattoos in his shop with sister Ella, he bought the business from his dad who was a tattoo artist too. Luca has lots of tattoos and piercings and could imagine he might look scary to some people but looks are deceptive, his such a sweetheart – I liked him very quickly.
I want to talk about this book more but I don’t wish to spoil the journey for everyone else. I can say I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the writing was immersive and the story a page-turner.
5 Star read.
* there is a dark edge to ths book which may trigger some people.
