“Luca….”She whispers my name at night, filling my dreams with her haunting beauty. Her tormented amber eyes beg me for something I don’t understand, and her agonizing pain becomes my own.For years, she’s come to me, calling my name. For years, I’ve never known who she was.Until now….
This book was so many things!! I’m in a book coma right now. If I could give this book more than 5 stars, I would give it so much more! I really didn’t know what to expect from this book going by the blurb, so I felt like I was going in blind. Which, honestly, I think is the best way to read this, so I’ll do my best not to give anything away.
….crickets… I don’t know how to write this review lol.
So…Luca. I actually was trying to figure out if this was a paranormal book, it’s not, but it gives off that vibe. You can feel the connection between Luca and Jules, the writing in this was phenomenal, in my opinion. It was fast-paced and I honestly could not put it down. I had meant to actually get stuff done around the house…nope not today (well not yesterday). I finished it in a day and definitely am in book hangover mode.
So, you know there’s something sinister going on…obviously lol, but once things start going you’re like okay, what in the actual h-e-double hockey sticks is going on? Of course, I couldn’t put down the book, I had to find out. When things start coming together, and yea while I did figure out what was really going on, it was obvious that things weren’t as they seemed, it was still a really great story. The plot, the twists, very original and nice to read something different than my usual rom-coms. I cringed when reading some of this and was angry for what was lost, and so sad for Jules and Luca. I cried a few times, sometimes happy tears, sometimes sad, (I can’t help it, I swear, after having kids, I’m a freaking crybaby!) When the ending came around and finally everything is revealed, it was bitter-sweet. I was so happy for the outcome, it’s just everything that happened makes your heart ache. It was a crazy ride, and took some time getting there, but so so worth it. I love that after everything that happened, Luca and Jules still found their way back to each other and even though they lost so much, their love never fades.
I can’t recommend this book enough. I will say, there are some parts of this book that were hard to stomach. Yes, I’m sure most people guess what is happening before it’s revealed, but really, it didn’t take anything away for me, if anything I wanted to know every single detail, the truths, the lies, the deception, the sick twistedness of this sinister silhouette. This might not be a story for everyone, but I absolutely loved it and though I’ve only read one other book by this author, (I actually have quite a few of hers in paperback and e-book form- I’m kicking myself for not reading them yet) I’m a huge fan by this book alone! I can’t wait to read more of this authors work and hands down this is going into my favorites pile for 2018.

I adored “The Sinister Silhouette” By Alex Grayson.
This is my first book by this particular author, but it definitely won’t be my last.
No sir-ee; I am certainly going to be having a mooch around to see what else this fantastically talented author has to offer.
But first; yes I did figure out the twists here.
And Second; I’m so sorry; I can’t really elaborate any further on said twists as this would spoil the whole experience for you.
I know some find it spoils there enjoyment overall when deciphering plotlines; myself; I always feel a trifle smug and sherlocky and if the twist is good and clever; I really couldn’t give a hoot if I’ve used my marvellous skills of deduction; blowing my own trumpet here folks.
I just feel like raising a glass to the author saying; job well-done mate; I applaud you; really I do.
So figuring out some stuff here or thinking I did; really wasn’t the end of the world for me.
This still was jammed packed with so many twists and turns and intricate plot-journeys that I was enthralled throughout.
Its told in my favourite dual POV and had the added bonus of an excellent side-cast; all really well developed as well.
This was also crammed full of mystery and intrigue throughout and at every new turn, I felt we were getting a different perspective and fresh flavour.
“The Sinister Silhouette” was a fabulous read that I can’t recommend enough.
I have a soft spot for tattoo artists as well; so was over the moon to have one at the centre of this intriguing story.
I wasn’t quite sure what this book was going to bring to the table with that obscurely but so tantalising blurb. but need not have worried as it was all so darn good.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of “The Sinister Silhouette” of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own

“This woman is my addiction, my obsession, and I could so easily get lost in her and never want to find my way out.”
Wow…just wow! THE SINISTER SILHOUETTE by Alex Grayson was truly unlike anything I’ve ever read before and my head is STILL spinning!!! It was brilliantly crafted and beautifully mystifying with mind bending twists and turns that kept me guessing from start to finish! This spine-tingling romantic suspense tale just DEFIES expectations and is so hypnotizing you are transfixed throughout!
THE STORY:
I went in blind, as should you, but in essence this is a story about a ruggedly handsome tattoo artist named Luca who for the past six years has had bizarre dreams of a woman in the dark. “A woman I’ve never seen before, with glowing amber eyes.”
Every night she whispers his name, begging him to save her and her agonizing pain and torment, ethereal beauty and plaintive cries have been the greatest mystery of his life.
“Although I don’t know who she is I feel drawn to her, like some invisible force has tethered me to her. I can physically feel her pain as if it’s my own.”
Luca resigns himself to never solving this eerie mystery until a twist of fate changes everything, and life as he knows it is forever changed!! Turns out this woman whose haunted his dreams, has been in a coma for 7 years but then Sleeping Beauty awakens and they finds themselves inexorably pulled into each other’s world. But at what cost? For as this confounding mystery is slowly unraveled, the shocking truth could destroy them both!!!!
MY MUSINGS:
THE SINISTER SILHOUETTE holds your heart captive, leaves you breathlessly turning the pages—and BEGGING for answers!
I love a riveting romantic thriller, pulsating with heat and mystery, and oh what a tantalizingly twisty and gloriously tangled tale does this mighty author weave! Told in dual point of view, this book reels you in and truly transports you. It’s teeming with GUTPUNCHING DRAMA, SMOLDERING DESIRES, DARK, DANGEROUS OBSESSIONS, and a DEVASTATING LABYRINTH OF SECRETS AND LIES that prove catastrophic. And at its epicenter is a FORBIDDEN LOVE that transcends all reason!
THE SINISTER SILHOUETTE truly had me enthralled, spellbound, and took me to dizzying heights and soul crushing lows. The whole time I kept scratching my head, thinking…”What’s real and what’s just a figment of their subconscious?” And eeep, once the fog starts to lift and the MCs come face to face with the brutal truth, brace yourself for some sinister twists that are as shocking as they are heartwrenching.
The man characters of Jules and Luca are exquisitely drawn, incredibly nuanced and their connection defies all reach and logic! Their relationship gets off to quite a ROCKY start, but you will be rooting for them from the depths of your soul once the puzzle pieces start to lock into place! This is truly a love story of INFINITE possibilities!
My heart shattered for Jules, a lost and broken woman who just wants to be found again and in Luca, a big, broody tattoo artist with an equally fractured soul, she finds such sweet solace. Yet despite the entire trauma she has endured she possesses remarkable strength. Her angelic beauty, gentle-heartedness and purity were as intoxicating as her courage and resilience. Such a REMARKABLE heroine!
And OMG, can I just say how deliciously BADASS Luca is? I mean who can resist a primally sexy, hot-blooded alpha with a volatile temper and a chivalrous heart? He is sooooo fiercely —FEROCIOUSLY— protective of his loved ones he made me quiver like a schoolgirl! And I especially adored his tender bond with his adorable niece Aria. But sob! His life is plagued with such remorse, shame, and paralyzing guilt over his murky past, which is compounded by his forbidden, all consuming feelings for this beautiful mystery woman who arouses feelings in him he cannot comprehend. Can these two damaged kindred spirits fuse their broken piece together and make each other whole? Their hauntingly beautiful journey is jam packed with mystery and intrigue, raw, breathtaking passion and heartbreaking pathos…and I was biting my nails and clutching my chest, gasping in horror and basking in wonderment at every turn!
And there is a third main character who is INTEGRAL to the plot so hang on for dear life because the aftershocks will have you reeling!
Were some of the plot developments kinda farfetched and a tad implausible?? Umm, yes indeed, but I WENT WITH IT because it did make for some pulse pounding melodrama! So my only real gripe that’s worth mentioning in an otherwise gripping read is the pacing which dragged a bit in places. Part of the problem for me was that at over 500 kindle pages this book was really long and at times it felt like the narrative was a bit repetitive and bogged down with too much extraneous detail. Perhaps with some streamlining it would have made for a tauter read. That said, the writing still sucks you in and this author’s artistry is absolutely stupendous!
BOTTOM LINE:
THE SINISTER SILHOUETTE is a mysterious, mind-blowing tale of good vs. evil, of hope and healing, of sin and retribution, and at long last, the TRIUMPHANT power of an enduring love that stands the test of time!
I generally enjoy this author’s writing a lot, and I really liked her book PITCH DARK which I would classify as being along the same lines as this book. Unfortunately, this one didn’t grab my attention as well as that book. I found it to be way too long and slow moving. Part of the problem was that I figured out the big twist very early on which then made certain aspects bothersome for me. None of which I can get into without spoiling the entire book. Let’s just say I found certain situations a bit far-fetched and contrived.
That said, it wasn’t a bad book either. The writing was excellent. The plot was unique in its setup. The characters well developed and had good chemistry. There were a lot of twists and turns that I am sure will shock the hell out of many a reader. Last, it ended in a very satisfactory way.
So yea, a bit of a mixed bag with this one. I’m going to chalk it up to my mood lately as I seem to be struggling to connect with a lot of books. When that happens I tend to start getting extremely critical of small issues that would honestly probably not bother anyone else. Anyway, these are just MY feelings, so please make sure to give a few other reviews a read before deciding whether this book is for you or not.
