Everyone knows when a Sinclair boy loves a Wallace girl people die. The first time JoJo Wallace smiled, she had my heart. When we kissed, she owned my soul. And when she gave me her everything, I took it…consuming her when I had no right. At first, we were just kids falling in love. We didn’t know about the generations-old feud between the Wallaces and the Sinclairs. I also couldn’t imagine … couldn’t imagine Jojo’s destruction had been planned by my father when we were babies. To Father, the feud came first. I was simply bred to participate. My love for Jojo became his weapon, and to keep Jojo alive, I became the perfect son.
I never thought Jojo would come back after Father’s death. Never thought she’d smile at me or kiss me again–or that I’d let her. She’s the last woman I should ever touch. Only Jojo’s relentless. She’s no longer a child that can be frightened away. She’s made me dream again…made me feel. But before this goes too far, I need to get her away from this town and the rest of the Sinclairs who would see her dead.
Why? Because she’s a Wallace and I’m a Sinclair. She’s someone I’d kill for, and I’ll hurt her again. It’s what I do. But Jojo Wallace, she’s impossible for me to resist.

The conclusion to the Feud Duet is filled with twists and turns and delivers on the angst and emotions promise that the ending of The Wallace Girl hinted at. It picks up right where the authors left us and from the start and throughout this whole second book the story really delves deep into the present (with some flashbacks) and how Alex & Jojo deal with revealed secrets, questioned loyalties and a future they have to shape.
The writing is impeccable. Alex & Jojo both felt like well rounded characters with a sincere connection. The flashbacks illustrated both how much they’ve grown as well as explained why they are the way that they are now. And I loved that! This really makes you root for a character and believe me I really did; I finished this with just one (forced!) break and practically inhaled the words until the end.
I won’t spoil this journey but I hope you put your trust in these authors because this is a book you won’t want to miss out on. I have always been a big fan of theirs but together they really delivered two beautiful books in a new genre for them! Absolutely loved it. Hope there will be more books written by this duo!
Starts right where book one left us, the story continues for Alex and Jojo. Jojo’s secret comes out, Alex still wants to protect her, the story will keep you on the edge of your seat. Second chances and revenges never tasted so sweet. All the twists and turns had me reading all night. Perfect ending to this duet. Bravo, great start of this author cowriting.
4.5-4.75 STARS
A perfect blend of steam, romance, heart and suspense, “The Sinclair Heir” serves up the perfect conclusion to this very twisted, riveting duet.
Picking up right where the first book left us hanging, Alex and JoJo move forward in their quest to finally find their HEA. But from the very first page, I sensed that this couple’s happiness would ultimately be short-lived—that these star-crossed lovers were simply wading in the calm that came before the storm. Yet despite my “knowing” what was coming, the ending was delivered in a way that still hit me with much anticipation and surprise.
During the first book, you think that Alex is so awful, but all of the things he has done, he has done to keep Jojo safe. In this book you see the other side of Alex, the side of Alex you know is there all along but the side that he has pushed down deep so that no one can tell how much he actually feels. Once he has Jojo again he knows he will never be able to let her go this time. After he learns her secrets, he knows he needs to protect her now more than ever. He has never stopped loving her, he has since he met her, but after she learns all of the terrible things he has done, will she still want him? Everything he has done was for her, but are some things too much to come back from? This book was twisty and there were turns I didn’t see coming, but some I did and it was a great ride! Alex is definitely the guy who will give up everything for the girl.
To start, I don’t usually write a review for a duet as one review. I normally split the review into book one and then book two – separate reviews for each distinct book But because I was lucky enough to have read both books, back to back, I’m taking a new approach. For a few reasons. First off, I initially read a few installments when this was on Raddish – I’m so happy these two wonderful ladies decided to take to a traditional book form. And second, well that fact that this is written by two of my most favorite authors. Great writers and even greater ladies. It’s not hard to imagine why they are besties but even after reading their very different writing styles (IMO). So, the cohesiveness of this story is a true accomplishment. I love the dual point of view, the past and present I think this really lent itself toward showing the character development too. The story flow is seamless.
Now, about that. The Feud series is a coming of age tale that is infused with mystery and a darkness that left me uneasy. From the very opening chapters, I was on high alert. Immediately we are introduced to the young adults that teenagers Jojo Wallace and Alex Sinclair became. There are six years that separate the two time periods, and countless lies between them (including the withholding of information). We are slowly exposed to the “why” and well into The Wallace Girl I maintained a deep dislike of Alex and felt myself feeling fiercely protective of JoJo. It becomes obvious they are meant to be, so what’s behind Alex’s bad behavior? I kept wondering “how could he”?? and the secret that Jojo holds made me even more anxious. This is a family feud after all and her determination to set Alex right puts her in grave danger.
Well into the Sinclair heir, where Jojo and Alex begin to rebuild, they create something very new and electrifying. This is where this becomes a SUPER SCHMEXY (blush) romantic suspense. There are a few really scary moments were things go incredibly wrong, but I held my breath and powered through. Also, this is where we really see Jojos resolve. Her faith in Alex is profound and at times seemingly very misguided. But this is where he gets to prove it out. She is a brave young woman, determined that Alex is not the man he claimed to be. But is he redeemable? I had some doubts. We come to know Alex as a great romantic and once his truth is out, he proceeds to give her the world. But don’t rest too easy, there is a stellar twist to the story. One that had me floored and one that shows the depth of the Sinclair hatred towards the Wallace’s. It’s scary that these two wonderfully nice ladies (Eliot Scott) have such devious minds. All in all, this is a well constructed romantic suspense, coming of age story that will take you on an emotional ride. Exactly what I expect to get in a great read. 5 Stars and recommendation
Eliot Scott’s second in the Feud duet, Sinclair Heir, takes on the time after Alex and Jojo parted (for the most part) then moves into how they will solve the riddles of the Sinclair Wallace Feud and find peace. The authors ramped up the pace of the story, adding more twists and turns than the previous book and because the pair are now adults, they also cranked up the heat.
The pacing of the Sinclair Heir moves quicker than it’s predecessor while still filling some of the gaps in information from when Alex and Jojo were teens. There are good guys and bad guys as well as some that are not clear which way they will fall. This is an explosive and deserving ending to the duet.
The Sinclair Heir is Eliot Scott’s explosive conclusion to the Feud duet series. I previously said this author had struck gold, but I should have said “black gold”. The secrets and lies that are revealed are shocking!
While book one, The Wallace Girl, was a good set-up, this second book is action-packed from the start to the finish! It kept me on the edge of my seat, and I easily consumed this book in one sitting. The dual POV and dual time line continue. Readers get more gritty detail of the past from Alex. His shocking confessions are mind-blowing. Whether the transgressor was his brother, Grady, his father, or himself, Alex’s confessions would stun even a priest.
Just as Jojo’s secret is revealed to Alex the overwhelming dread of some ominous threat overshadows her incredible reveal. Even though I figured out the big twist, the thrill of the journey was not diminished! Both Alex’s mother, May, and brother, Grady, have bigger roles in The Sinclair Heir and both characters add delightful tension and fright to the story. The insights and confessions are amazing. The evocative writing made it so easy to picture every chilling scene. The Sinclair Heir is one incredible read!
