CS Lewis never disappoints. The Silver Chair, part of the Chronicles on Narnia Series, is a classic filled with life lessons for children, adults, and families alike. While I have hundreds of books in electronic format, this is one of those series you’ll want in hardback on your shelf.
This was probably the book I remembered least of the Chronicles of Narnia, but man, every one of these books is just so amazing, for the same three reasons. First, it’s not just the creativity, but the whimsy that makes Narnia a world I long to escape into. Second, C.S. Lewis is incredibly astute about human nature. He captures psychological …

A great last book to finalize a fantastic series!
This is a great book; one of my favorites of all time. This book is part of the Narnia series written by C. S. Lewis. The book follows our young, bullied, insecure protagonist on her journey with her friend Eustice, of “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” fame to Narnia to find the lost Prince. She must follow the signs given to her by Aslan to find …
Of course, this entire series is a must reead for anyone who fancies English literature, fantasy, and the whole Chronicles of Narnia series.
Lewis continues with the characters created earlier in the Chronicles of Narnia to explore themes of temptation, the struggle with evil and how the voices we listen and believe affect our worldview. Fascinating characters and a fast-moving plot line keep the reader engaged throughout the story and gives years of reflection on the powerful themes …
What “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” does for the Christian salvation story, “The Silver Chair” does for the wrestle between faith and doubt, the religious worldview and the secular worldview. A powerful depiction!
Who can forget the character of Puddleglum the marshwiggle? How about the cookbook that describes “how to serve man.” A fairytail that delighted me and my kids, over and over.
Eustace and Jill are called to Narnia to save the crown prince who is being held underground by an enchantress. But will they get sidetracked along the way? This is another fun adventure, but it is Puddleglum who makes the book for me.
Great example of CS Lewis fiction!
