The New York Times bestselling novel soon to be a major motion picture starring Nicole Kidman, for fans of The Woman in the Window and The Silent Patient.”I gobbled it down in one sitting.” – Anne Lamott, People
Jodi and Todd are at a bad place in their marriage. Much is at stake, including the affluent life they lead in their beautiful waterfront condo in Chicago, as she, the killer, and he, … waterfront condo in Chicago, as she, the killer, and he, the victim, rush haplessly toward the main event. He is a committed cheater. She lives and breathes denial. He exists in dual worlds. She likes to settle scores. He decides to play for keeps. She has nothing left to lose. Told in alternating voices, The Silent Wife is about a marriage in the throes of dissolution, a couple headed for catastrophe, concessions that can’t be made, and promises that won’t be kept. Expertly plotted and reminiscent of Gone Girl and These Things Hidden, The Silent Wife ensnares the reader from page one and does not let go.

You can really feel the wife and her not facing her reality. The ending fell a little flat for me though
didn’t like the main characters
I feel like this book was not very entertaining. I kept waiting for this big twist and it never came.
This was a very good read.
One of the best book I have ever read. Could not put it down.
Hard to understand, and I didn’t like the characters.
kind of a dud at the end!
This book , while reminiscent of Gone Girl, differs on a psychological level. The character development is done in the background through seemingly insignificant sentences and phrases that reveal their meaning further into the story. The ending was quite surprising, if not altogether satisfactory. It was a little hard to know who to pull for at the end.
I mostly enjoyed this book. While you couldn’t tell “who did it” until the end, you were pretty sure who “didn’t do it.” Characters all seemed to be broken, sad people and I kept waiting for some humor or lightness in the story to counterbalance the heaviness of the characters and situations. So much of the story is inside people’s heads, I’ll be interested to see what they do with the movie.

It held my interest. I liked it alot.
This was a ver intriguing read. You think you know what’s coming, but you don’t
Loved this book, couldnt wait to get back to reading it in between work hours to uncover the next stage of the story. Very satisfying read.
Well written, very good read.
I didn’t really care for the book. The end was fairly good but I just didn’t their style of writing
This is less a novel of suspense and more a psychological analysis of a failing marriage. There were few surprises. I kept expecting a twist or even for the story to reach a climax but there were neither.
Surprisingly good. Never read this author before I don’t think.
This book kept me entertained and it was easy to continue reading. That said, the ending was very predictable. Also the predictable “twist” didn’t happen until the very end and it was all stated in an anti-climactic way. I don’t feel like I wasted my time reading it, but wouldn’t recommend it to someone else. Many reviews stated that it was a good read for those who liked Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train. I loved both of those and was disappointed by this one.
Not the most nail biting psychological thriller I have read but a fairly solid read. I skipped a few paragraphs here and there that just seemed like filler but ai did enjoy it.
I enjoyed the psychological assessments of the other characters by the lead character who is a psychologist. Educational from that perspective.
This book is a definite must read! Finished it in one day.
