Moments. Our lives are a collection of moments. Some utterly painful and full of yesterday’s hurts. Some beautifully hopeful and full of tomorrow’s promises.I’ve had many moments in my lifetime, moments that changed me, challenged me. Moments that scared me and engulfed me. However, the biggest ones—the most heartbreaking and breathtaking ones—all included him.I was ten years old when I lost my … years old when I lost my voice. A piece of me was stolen away, and the only person who could truly hear my silence was Brooks Griffin. He was the light during my dark days, the promise of tomorrow, until tragedy found him. Tragedy that eventually drowned him in a sea of memories.
This is the story of a boy and girl who loved each other, but didn’t love themselves. A story of life and death. Of love and broken promises.
Of moments.

“The world keeps spinning because your heartbeats exits.”
This book was amazing. It was beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, and so emotional. The Silent Waters exceeded all my expectations. It started out emotional but then we get so many funny and cute moments that brought a smile to my face. I just couldn’t get enough of this book because it had it all.
“He drove me crazy. His hold, his touch, his voice, his words. Everything about his soul lit me on fire, and I was proud to burn beside him.”
This is the story of Maggie May Riley and Brooks Tyler Griffin. They meet for the first time when they are just six years old. When they are ten years old I was laughing so hard at their interaction. It was one of the cutest things I have ever read. I just couldn’t get enough of it. But then the moment that should’ve been one of the most happiest for Maggie turns into a nightmare. It just broke my heart to see Maggie change from a happy and outgoing to a silent and scared little girl. It broke my heart to see how it impacted everyone around her. Brooks never stopped being there for her, he was such a support to Maggie during her good and bad times. They had to overcome so many challenges and it wasn’t always easy. There were so many sad but also uplifting moments. It was just perfect in my opinion.
“Whenever our lips found each other, the kisses hurt and healed. We were thunderstorms and sunlight all at once.”
It pulled so many different emotions from me and I loved that the author took her time to really tell the story. It wouldn’t have impacted me as much if it was fast-paced. I loved all the side characters in this book, and I hope that the next book in this series will focus on one of them. The secondary characters brought this book to life. They played such an important role in this book and if the author deleted even one of them it wouldn’t have been the same. I wouldn’t change anything about this book, and it will hold a special place in my heart forever.
“That was the thing about love. It didn’t mean you only loved them during the sunbeams. It meant you stood by their side during the cloudy nights, too.”
So Cherry is an author that I’ve heard of but haven’t read. One of my close friends pretty much threatened to cut off our friendship if I didn’t read her books. So with that being said I took the plunge and read “The Silent Waters”. This book was definitely not what I was expecting and I mean that in a good day. What Maggie endured during her childhood was horrible! This was supposed to be a happy time and all of that got ripped away on a night that should have been fun. Brooks, he stoled my heart in this story. He never ever stopped loving and supporting Maggie after her ordeal. What happened to Maggie put a tremendous strain on her family but he stood by her through all the good and bad times!! Every member suffered with Maggie in their own way. One tiny issue is the length of how long Maggie went without a voice. I wish that she would have gotten the courage sooner so she could have begun the healing process faster. The writing in this book was wonderful and the story really did grab me and I finished the book in a couple of hours. I loved the message behind this book about finding your voice and strength. The author’s note at the end really touched me as well. Thank You Cherry for writing a book that was hard for you! This book will give a lot of people courage to find their voice. Cherry will be definitely added to my go to authors and I have some catching up to do!
If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would! I just don’t even know where to begin with my review. I am in possibly the greatest book hangover I have ever had! I am not sure I can even put into words properly, just how much this book meant to me……. I will try…..
The Silent Waters has been my most anticipated release for 2016 and I have most definitely NOT been disappointed.
After reading “Loving Mr Daniels” 12 months ago – Brittainy C Cherry instantly became one of my most favourite authors, and I very quickly read anything I could get my hands on, that she had written.
To be brutally honest – I didn’t even know the synopsis of The Silent Waters. I didn’t bother to look it up – because I didn’t need to. I knew that it was a Brittainy C Cherry book and that’s all I needed.
I was completely sucked in from just the dedication of the book. That’s it! A couple of lines at the beginning and my heart started to flutter.
Maggie and Brooks are amazing! They are the most beautiful characters and have the most incredible friendship and love. The kind of friendship and love that we all hope to have with someone.
One of the things that I really loved in this book was that I felt like I was getting a real insight into Maggie and Brooks’ entire family and friends. Whilst Maggie and Brooks are the main characters, you learn and love so much about their entire families and some friends.
Some of my most favourite parts of this book are just 1 simple line or question = amazing! I cried some seriously happy/romantic/sad/loving tears for a good couple of chapters.
I have never highlighted a book as much as I did with The Silent Waters. Every few pages that I read, I was contacting friends saying things like “My god! This book!” I just couldn’t keep it to myself.
This book has stolen my heart and my soul…. And to be honest – I don’t want it back.
I forever want to be stuck in Maggie and Brooks’ world and love.
This book will become a definite re-read and I wish it could be the first time every time.

Want a love story that will make you sob the entire way through? Have a box of tissues that seem too dry and need something to wet them? Have I got a book for you!
This book is lovely, haunting, inspiring, heartwarming, and seriously tear jerking. I was a MESS through this one. Really well written, solid storyline, good characters, just a little too emotionally intense for me. Apparently I like my stuff just a little less… heart rending.
This is one author whom books I buy without a second thought. I have enjoyed all of the previous standalone books in this series and this one did not disappoint. This book was fantastic from the very beginning, and even though I felt as if it lost a little bit of its steam in the middle and end of the story, it still didn’t take away from how much I actually enjoyed it. If you are looking for a book with drama but also filled with lots of laughs and everlasting love this is the story for you. Would I recommend it? Absolutely! I can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next.
