THE FIRST NOVEL IN THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING JANE HAWK SERIES Meet Jane Hawk—a remarkable new heroine certain to become an icon of suspense. “This gripping thriller grabs readers from the first few pages and sweeps them along to the rousing finale.”—Booklist “I very much need to be dead.”These are the chilling words left behind by a man who had everything to live for—but took his own life. … behind by a man who had everything to live for—but took his own life. In the aftermath, his widow, Jane Hawk, does what all her grief, fear, and fury demand: find the truth, no matter what.
People of talent and accomplishment, people admired and happy and sound of mind, have been committing suicide in surprising numbers. When Jane seeks to learn why, she becomes the most-wanted fugitive in America. Her powerful enemies are protecting a secret so important—so terrifying—that they will exterminate anyone in their way.
But all their power and viciousness may not be enough to stop a woman as clever as they are cold-blooded, as relentless as they are ruthless—and who is driven by a righteous rage they can never comprehend. Because it is born of love.
Don’t miss any of Dean Koontz’s gripping Jane Hawk thrillers:

Praise for The Silent Corner
“Gripping . . . The paranoia and mystery increase as the story unfolds. . . . Koontz has created [a] wonderful character in Jane Hawk. . . . Koontz rocks it again.”—Associated Press
“In this era of stingy text-message prose, Mr. Koontz is practically Shakespeare. . . . The Silent Corner brims with both action and emotion.”—Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
“The Silent Corner is vintage Dean Koontz: paranoia-fueled suspense . . . sleek and highly realized action, developed characters, and more twists and turns than any two ordinary novels combined. . . . As relevant to current events as it is audacious . . . amongst Dean Koontz’s finest contemporary work.”—Mystery Scene
“A proven specialist in action scenes, Koontz pulls off some doozies here. . . . The book is full of neat touches. . . . And the prose, as always in a Koontz novel, is first-rate. Perhaps Koontz’s leanest, meanest thriller, this initial entry in a new series introduces a smart, appealing heroine who can outthink as well as outshoot the baddest of bad dudes.”—Kirkus Reviews (starred review)

Edge of my seat intertainment!
Could not put this down! Great book.
Interesting story and Dean’s writing is always enjoyable. First of about six, though. I’m’ not sure I’ll get through them all.
Dean Koontz is a wonderful writer. He always leads you on a Scarry ride.
Interesting but kind of ends without a wrap up. Maybe there’s another book.
Very interesting, edge of your seat
Really a great story with believable characters. I was disappointed with the ending, left me wondering.
A great read! Couldn’t put it down!
Jane Hawk is fighting for the protection of her son. She is fighting for the betterment of the world that she will leave for him. She is, essentially, fighting a losing battle. And she is doing it alone.
FBI agent on leave after the apparent suicide of her valiant husband, Jane knows that he did not willingly take his own treasured life. He is not alone. Other well-adjusted, contented people with a bright future are also taking their own lives. After much research, Jane discovers something totally evil, something absolutely unbelievable, incomprehensible. Because it is so unimaginable, she must fight the evil alone, until she can uncover proof of this nightmarish truth. Otherwise, no one could possibly believe her!
I have read so many of Dean Koontz’s amazing books. And this one is as extremely well-written as all of his others. He taunts his readers, dangling them above the precipice with his words, luring them to read and read. His characters are so well-developed that you would swear that you know them. All of this results in a very fine book. However, I expected some amazing insight or truth underlying it all. Maybe I did not get it in this book, because it is to be continued in the next book. Maybe because it is not that kind of book. The plot keeps the reader on the edge of her seat, but, as in his The City and Innocence, and even Ashley Bell, there was a profound depth of meaning. This is just a mystery. But, as all Koontz does, it is a superb one.
I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.
Standard Koontz. Couldn’t put it down.
An adventure that has female heroine Jane Hawk questioning her own sanity.
Started the Jane Hawk series purely because it is written by Dean Koontz. Happy that i did and as i finished each ebook i bought the next one and never stopped until i only had one left to read and he had one more left to publish. Gonna wait for the last one to be published so i can re-enter this series and enjoy a two book marathon to finish it off. Really enjoyed every one of the books so far. Glad i am now retired so i can read into the early morning hours and just sleep in the next morning.
Great new strong female lead from Koontz, relentless action, and incredibly skilled plotting. The Silent Corner is up there with the best of crime fiction.
I love Dean Koontz- I miss Odd Thomas
Can’t wait for the next book in this series. Just discovered this series on Book Bub. Went back and ordered every book in the series. Great read. Keeps you on the edge of your seat.
This future may not be as far as you may think, if our country doesn’t get it together. That’s the scariest truth in this series.
I’ve always been a big fan of Dean Koontz, but his Jane Hawk series is hands down, the best work he has ever produced.
first of series
Starts out fast and doesn’t let up. Very strong female character. Edgy!
You can never go wrong with Dean Koontz, This kept my attention from start to finish.
