Jack Torrance’s new job at the Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start. As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he’ll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing. But as the harsh winter weather sets in, the idyllic location feels ever more remote… and more sinister. And the only one to notice the strange and terrible … forces gathering around the Overlook is Danny Torrance, a uniquely gifted five year old.

I loved this book
A classic in the genre! One of King’s best books. There is at one point an internal dialogue of the main character that shows his madness taking hold that has stayed with me for years! Love this book!
It was tragic that I wasted my time reading this book, I Love almost all of Stephen King’s books just not this one. Slow and plodding I had to force myself to finish by telling myself it will get better but alas I was wrong it did not, just slow and plodding right to the end
If you have only seen the movie, give the book a read. It is definitely worth it!
One of his best
LOVE Stephen King!! This one is a classic and well worth the read. If you’ve seen the movie, the book is even better!
So many more details than the movie. Makes more sense and kind of ties the story together after having watched the movie several times.
Love it….
Stephen King delivers again
One of Stephen King’s best
So much better than the Movie, more detail and makes me want to play croquet.
Love to be creeped out and Stephen King does just that in this book. And of course the books are always better than the movies!
This book scared the crap out of me when I read it at the young age of 12 an it scared the crap out of me again when I reread it in my 30s.
