When county sheriff Cab Johnson gets a hunch, he’s learned to trust it, and his hunch tells him Rose Bellingham is in a peck of trouble. Bad enough he’s in love with her, bad enough she’s already engaged to Jason Thayer. He’s got to figure out what she’s hiding before he loses her for good.
Rose can’t stand one more person meddling in her business, even if that person is a handsome, eligible … eligible sheriff. She’s been controlled for far too long. But since her fiancé’s father is both her boss and landlord, she can’t dump Jason until she’s got somewhere to run. She’s found the perfect place: a patch of forest outside town. But with Cab watching her every move, she’s hard pressed to finish her hideaway so she can make her escape. Meanwhile, she’s not the only one with problems. Can she find a way to help her friends, too?
Just when Cab solves one mystery, more pop up. Where does Rose keep disappearing to? What’s wrong with Mia Start? Why is Hannah Chatham lying to her fiancé? At least he’s let Rose know he’s interested. And if he’s not mistaken, she’s interested, too.
Rose’s hideaway is perfect, until her friends invade it to escape their own troubles. Can she trust them to keep its whereabouts a secret? Does she want to hide from Cab anymore? Now that Jason’s out of the picture, is it safe to follow her heart?
When two unexpected visitors arrive with secrets of their own, Chance Creek must brace for its deadliest night ever. Can Cab figure out the connections between all the mysteries fast enough?
Or will Rose and her friends pay the ultimate price?

I enjoyed The Sheriff Catches a Bride. It was good but it didn’t really wow me. Just a nice little love story. Cab was sexy and I really liked him. Rose was okay she was a push over for most of the book. I wanted many times to yell at her and tell her to grow up and stick up for herself. She did grow a back bone and that made her more likable. I liked the relationship between Cab and Rose although I wish Rose would have jumped in a little more than she did. She held herself back. Overall a good read.
This is a story part of a series but can stand on its own. There are no cliffhangers. I did struggle with the plot and the characters. It started slow and then all the sudden it sped up.
I think it came to an end rather quickly.
Just okay. The characters were not as interesting as those in other Boo in this series.
Loved the story about Rose & Cab. I could have lived without the other two story lines though. Still a good read.
Very sweet story, great characters and we’ll written
Absolutely entertaining in many ways, read this book in one sitting. Loved it
Good read
Great interesting read
Wow, wow and WOW!!!
Two women, two separate and completely different stories but both share a loss of control in their lives. Moving and captivating… Impossible to put down. Rose’s story is steamy and witty whereas Fila’s is intriguing and dangereous. When stories converge…watch out! This has to be my favorite of the series, spectacular read!
Continuation of another series, but characters were too angst-y for me.
Great story line.
I could have done without the explicit bedroom details.
worth the read
I loved it.
It was a good read. It had a good storyline but it wandered off a few times.
Cora is one of my “go to” authors. I wait for her next books. I love that they are all set in Chance Creek. It’s like getting a chance to catch up with old friends from previous books. Great writing.
Loved the book. Kept you in suspense.
The book was very gripping. I found myself anxious to know what was going to happen next. There were some unexpected, hence, unpredictable moments in the story which added to it’s overall success as a very good read. Although there is the idea of an HEA, this book doesn’t give that in true completion. You must read the other books in order to get a “real” sense of the HEA of the main characters in this book.
I am an avid reader of all Cora Seton series. Keeps me engaged from beginning to end and wait in anticipation of her next book.
I really enjoy romance novels with the “happily ever after ” endings so I enjoyed that part of this book. In my early years of reading this genre, I didn’t really mind the detailed sex, even though I thought it a bit over done. But now I find it definitely off putting and am going to reduce the number of authors I choose to read, sticking with those I know write a wonderful romance without the multiple detailed sex scenes.
