When her half-sister flees with her true love to avoid an arranged marriage, Zainab Halil bravely steps up to take her place. All her life, Zainab has sought the approval of her father, Javeed, but even she is shocked when he refuses to consider his oldest daughter—her—for an alliance that will finally bring peace between his tribe and the royal family of Omirabad. Javeed has always been a bit … embarrassed by Zainab, who was the result of a fling with an American girl he met one summer. With her mother dead, Zainab now lives with her father, doing everything she can to win his approval—even if that means marrying a man she’s never met. Though she’s willing to wed for the sake of the tribe, she secretly doesn’t believe it’s much of a sacrifice, given that the one she would be marrying, Khalid bin Salam, is one of the most handsome and charming men she’s ever met.
At first, Khalid is resistant to the idea of an arranged marriage. And then he meets Zainab, and the idea of marrying a stranger is a bit more appealing. He likes her American ways, her lovely smile, her beautiful curves. But Javeed is determined to keep them apart, pulling every string he can reach to ensure each day passes without them seeing each other. That still leaves the nights… And as their passion builds, their marriage seems less arranged and more like destiny. If only Javeed could see what’s best for his tribe and his daughter.

Here is the third book of Omirabad Sheikhs series. This is about Sheikh Khalid and Zainab (Zoey). The story starts off with Sheikh Khalid returning from Germany only to find that an arranged marriage is being discussed about him and a tribe’s leader’s second daughter as his first daughter the eldest was raised too western. Khalid had no idea of what was going on with this arranged marriage but as a prince that he is, he didn’t deny wanting to know the details to this, even though he didn’t see himself marrying anyone anytime soon. Chief Javeen, Zoey’s father, did not want to arrange the marriage between Zoey and Khalid as Zoey was raised mostly in America because her late mother was American. He wanted his native daughter, Afifa, who was in love with one of his security men. Afifa ended up running away before they married her off when she was in love with someone else, so that left Zoey to be the one to be offered into this arrangement, but this chief would not hear of that. The story takes off when both Khalid and Zoey get to know each other during the night in the garden. This is a lovely story and I especially loved that at the end she had made the decision of living her life instead of trying to appease her father and that her half siblings and step mother was on board with it.

Khalid has returned home to Omirabad from a business trip in Germany to find Javeed, an elder from the tribes, discussing peace between the tribes and the royal family. Khalid is surprised to learn that part of the negotiations involve him marrying Javeed’s daughter. Khalid finds himself intrigued and attracted to the oldest daughter, Zainab. Zainab was raised by her American mother and is considered too Western for her father. Zainab would spend her summers with her father and her younger siblings. Two years ago when her mother died, Zainab moved to Omirabad to live with her father. Zainab has always seeked her father’s approval, but Javeed views Zainab as an embarrassment because he and her mother weren’t married. When Javeed’s favored daughter runs away to marry the man she loves, Khalid suggests marriage to Zainab, the daughter who interests him. Javeed opposes marriage between Zainab and Khalid and intends to bring his runaway daughter back to marry Khalid. Zainab and Khalid meet secretly in the palace gardens getting to know each other as their attraction grows. Will Zainab and Khalid give into their attraction for each other? What happens when Javeed learns of Zainab’s relationship with Khalid? Will Zainab and Khalid marry and find their happily ever after? I really enjoyed The Sheikh’s Unexpected Fiance by Leslie North. The Sheikh’s Unexpected Fiance is an entertaining story with great characters. I love the way Zainab and Khalid fell in love while getting to know each other while they were secretly meeting in the gardens. I would definitely recommend getting The Sheikh’s Unexpected Fiance.

However Khalid is interested in her and goes out of his way to spend some time with her. When her father learns that even though he told her that she wouldn’t be with the Sheikh that they were still together he sends her away. Will Khalid let her go without a fight?

A controlling father.
Chief Halil refuses to let his half American daughter, Zainab “Zoey” marry Khalid after her half sister bolts. Zainab wants her father’s approval and bends over backwards for him. It also helps that Khalid is intrigued by Zainab from the second he sees her and campions her.
Her father was a piece of work!
Zoey deserved better in a parent.

I really loved Zainab and Khalid’s story. This was almost a marriage of convenience but took a turn into them falling in love and that was great. I am glad the Zainab’s dad was not able to ruin their budding relationship. All the time they spent in the garden was a sweet build of their relationship.

Khalid bin Salam has an arranged marriage however the bride flees and her sister steps in to save the alliance for the countries while trying to win her father’s approval. Zainab and Khalid get to know each other and find an attraction that outweighs her father’s objections and trickery. This is the third book with the youngest brother of the family. Good tale for these 2 characters while getting to visit with the other family members again.

Khalid has been out of the country expanding business dealings for his country. When he comes home and meets with his 2 brothers, he finds them in a meeting with Javeed, a tribal leader who separated his tribe from the rest of the country years ago as the result of a dispute over a change in law about a Sheikh needing to be married to rule. Javeed is here to offer his daughter as Khalid’s bride as a means to bring the tribes back together. Khalid has to decide if he wants this arranged marriage, giving up his choice in a bride or the good of the country. Just before the wedding, his intended flees the palace and the country with her true love. Zainab, Javeed’s first born daughter, volunteers to take her half sisters place except Javeed will not hear of any such thing. Zainab was born as the result of an affair her father had with an American. Zainab, Zoey, was raised in America and only visited her father on summer break and Javeed is assamed of her, she is too “american” and he will not subject the sheikh to her american ways.
Unbeknownst to Javeed, Zainab and Khalid have been meeting secretly and getting to know each other and Khalid and Zainab are both excited at the thought of being married.
Will Javeed allow this marriage to take place or will he put his personal feelings before the good of the tribe.
Will Khalid and Zainab be allowed to marry or will Javeed do everything in his power to keep these lovers apart?
Will Khalid and Zainab find happiness?

The royal family and the tribes are in negotiations, and they’re planning an arranged marriage between Sheikh Khalid, the youngest brother, and Afifa, the daughter of one of the tribal chiefs. Only one problem – Afifa is in love with someone else, and Khalid is interested in the beautiful woman wearing a red dress the day he first saw her. Wait.. one more problem. Zainab is Afifa’s sister. When Afifa disappears from the palace, Khalid proposes to Zainab. That’s not what her father wants, and he’s making negotiations with the palace difficult. I’ve really enjoyed this series, but this is my favorite book. Zainab and Khalid have such great chemistry together, and she’s not shy about going after what she wants. I’m looking forward to this author’s next set of books.

Another great addition to the series, very interesting and entertaining. Khalid seems like the lackluster one just going through the motions, he is instantly drawn to Zainab. This couple’s story has a slower pace, relationship wise, but it has some shocking family drama is in full force. The sheikh has a very kind family, Zainab though has a tyrant as a father. She’s lonely and I was so happy to see she mature in being herself instead of what he expected. Also love the paranormal element which I think really helps Zainab manage with her situation. A very fun and enjoyable adventure of an ending to this series. I’m sad to see it again, but I know that whatever comes next will be just as good. Like all of them, this book had a wonderful setting and wonderful characters and storyline. It was fresh but also Homey.

Loved it!!! ……… but have a tissue as you read
The Sheikh’s Unexpected Fiancée was so emotional that my heart broke for the h, Zainab, aka Zoey, but also made my heart warm for her at the end. She is a young woman who is walking between two worlds as her father is the chief of one of the tribes and her deceased mother was American. Her parents were never married so she is a perpetual embarrassment to her father as she is too Western for him. While she was growing up she spent the summers with her father and the tribe in the desert along with her many younger brothers and sisters, who she loves dearly. Two years ago when her mother passed she moved to be with her father and since then she has been trying to be the dutiful and perfect daughter, but nothing she does is good enough so she twists herself even further trying to get his approval. This even goes so far as to “step in” to an arranged marriage when her younger and favored sister runs away to marry someone else. The groom in this arrangement is Sheikh Khalid, the youngest son of the Omirabad royal family.
Khalid is interesting in that he has never had any expectations of “duty” placed on him with regards to the country. So instead he made a place for himself by becoming Omirabad’s Science and Technology liaison. This allows him to travel the world, as he likes to explore, and also help his country by brokering deals between other countries and companies and Omirabad and it’s people.
Khalid has never thought about getting married, let alone an arranged one which would resolve an old fracture between the royals and the tribes. But as soon as he hears and then sees Zainab he is more than interested in her, even if she is not the initial bride being offered. But once things change and Khalid sees that he would be married to Zainab he is all in on the negotiations, even when her father is opposed.
I have to say that I loved this story!!! There is so much emotion weaved throughout the story that is artfully done for all of the characters. Khalid and Zainab are a fabulous couple and their secret courting is fantastic. I enjoyed reading this story, as I also did with the two previous books in this series, and would recommend that without reservation.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
The final book in Leslie North’s Omirabad Sheikhs is one worthy of rounding out a series. The Sheikh’s Unexpected Fiancée is a wonderful story of a daughter striving for the love and acceptance of an overbearing and rigid parent, by volunteering to an arranged marriage to forge a relationship between two opposing powers.
Zainab was an extremely likeable character and her plight was heart wrenching and emotional. And while Khalid was reluctant to engage in a union born of necessity, he is smitten by this unique and captivating woman who has a heart of gold.
The world building, character portrayals and storyline of this book were all spot on! I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the story and was sad to see the series end.
