As an ambitious American journalist, Amy Mathewson will stop at nothing to get her story—including going into dangerous, rebel-infested countries. But when she stumbles across seven-year-old Aisha in an orphanage her heart melts, and Amy vows to keep her safe. Until the rebels start to close in.Just when Amy thinks they’re in grave danger, a stunning Sheikh arrives, claiming Aisha as his … Aisha as his daughter; a Sheikh with smoldering dark eyes and the kind of handsome that is difficult to forget. Unwilling to let Aisha go with a stranger, Amy agrees to accompany the Sheikh and Aisha to a safe house to confirm his claim. But it may not be safe for Amy, not with a sexy Sheikh making her feel things she hasn’t felt in a long time—and whose touch is as hot as the desert sun.
All his life, Sheikh Bahir Karawi has taken care of himself, knowing no one else would. When he discovers he has a daughter, he immediately sets out to bring her home, to make sure she never feels as alone as he always has. What he doesn’t count on is butting heads with the fiercely protective and dangerously beautiful Amy, who has taken up the duties of caring for his daughter. As they get to know one another, he can’t ignore the searing attraction he feels, nor the realization that Amy would be perfect, both for his daughter and for him.
As the rebels close in, Bahir realizes he will do anything to keep his daughter and Amy safe—even if that means putting his very life at risk.

It seems my fear of stupid unprotected sex in every ARC by Leslie North I have left was a bit premature. In this case, the unexpected child comes from another route, so I’m happy I don’t have to deal with the same plot over and over again. Let’s see what the second Karawi brother has to tell in his defense!
This time we travel to that small and fictional kingdom to meet Bahir, the middle brother of Iman. By pure chance, he discovers several hidden letters that tell him he has a secret daughter who has been taking into an orphanage. Looking for her, she meets Amy, an American journalist who is helping in one of the orphanages to write a story. There she became attached to Aisha, the secret daughter of Bahir. That’s why they are a package deal when the Sheikh stormed the building to take the child. Brusque? Maybe. But the rebels also want Aisha as leverage…
The main strength of these books is their length. Less than 200 pages to tell a simple story where the main characters fall in love and have their happily ever after. This time the story comes with an unexpected amount of action scenes, where the characters have to face rebels in several situations. It is unexpected, because it didn’t look like the main focus was there according to the plot of the backcover. Yes, the secret daughter is important, but not as a way to develop Bahir character. She is the flag that the good and the bad guys have to capture to win the game. So, if you are expecting some quality time between father and daughter, you should look elsewhere.
This book also has the same problem as the first one: the romance is underdeveloped. In this case, the issue is even more evident due to the few pages Amy and Bahir have to focus on their relationship. They don’t have time to properly get to know each other due to the sickness of Aisha or the rebel attacks. And somehow they fall utterly in love… They barely exchange a couple of sentences and, the next thing we know, Bahir is already planning a wedding. Sure, sure. Everybody knows that those kind of marriages scream steady to the world… So, yeah… the length is nice to tell about the rebels and the daughter plots, but it is not enough to put together a coherent love story.
Regarding the characters, I have to say that Amy is OK, but without any kind of spark. She is protective of Asha and I guess that is nice, but having a favourite kid in an orphanage is kind of unwise and even unethical. The one I do not like at all is Bahir. At first he seemed nice with the playful banter with his brother, but then… he becomes too bossy, too drunk of power. Breaking and entering in an orphange as if it were a rebel compound was way too much. And the problem is he is totally unapologetic about that… as if he had all the rights in the world to do so due to his title. This Alpha barks too much for my taste.
Let’s see where the story of the third brother takes us, but before that… some cowboys!!
The storyline was well written and the characters were so well rounded that I remained totally enthralled throughout the entire book!
This story is about an American journalist, Amy, who is writing a story in a rebel-infested country. Helping in a orphanage, she befriends a seven-year old young girl and vows to keep her safe from rebels that come looking for her. Sheikh Bahir Karawi comes in contact with the young girl not knowing that she is his daughter. When information is uncovered that she is his daughter, he will stop at nothing to bring her to the Palace.
She will go anywhere for a story when she ends up in an orphanage she decides she needs to look after the young girl. He is a sheikh and has just found out about his secret daughter. They but heads but she goes with him when the rebels appear. How will they get on? See how they do

Amy left Florida to heal her broken heart. She found a place in Middle East where she is helping at orphanage and write her article. One of the kids is very close to her and one day when Sheikh shows up to take girl, she goes with them. Bahir is a Sheikh, he finds out he is the father to a 7 year old, who is in orphanage. He looks thru all orphanages in his country to find her. When he finds her, he is taking her to palace. He has to take Amy, who is very close to his daughter too, only so transition for his daughter to palace would be easier. But he can’t keep his hands and mind away from Amy, will she stay if he ask her?
This is a fantastic story with great characters. It’s well written and the characters are interesting and have great chemistry.
Another excellent story in the Sheikh series by Leslie North. It doesn’t disappoint. They always have mystery, surprise, romance and steamy sex. They also have a happy ending.

Amy,a journalist, is in the Middle East trying to gain a story of what is really go on there and she meets a young orphan, Aisha, and the connection that she feels towards her is instant and bonding. But after they come under attack a Sheik storms in and says that he is taking Aisha and that she is his daughter! Amy isn’t prepared to just take his word and Aisha won’t go without Amy.As Aisha is unwell, Bahir, the gorgeous Sheik – did I mention that he was gorgeous?? And so, Amy ends up in the palace too although they don’t realise that she is a journalist with a secret. Bahir, despite having little to do with children except his niece Iris that has just come into his life and he is grateful that Amy came too [he also is very attracted to her and doesn’t want her to leave. This is book 2 of The Karawi Sheikhs Series composed so beautifully by Leslie North. You don’t have to have read book 1 but it will be so much better if you have to understand so much that is going on. It is wonderful how Aisha and her dragon meet up with her grandmother and her cousin. Prepare yourselves for red hot steamy passion between Amy and Bahir but how will he feel when her secrets are revealed? Roll on book 3 please! This is a real page turner and you will not want to put it down at all as it is so good. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. She ends up helping out in an orphanage and begins to love one little girl, Aisha. When the heir to the throne, Sheikh Riyad finds out he has a daughter, he finds her with Amy.
This is a great story with amazing characters . They have obstacles to overcome before they can be together. There is action, betrays, surprises, family dynamics, and steamy love scenes, what more can you want. It is an easy read that is up lifting. I particularly like how Amy grew as a person and became an inspiration. Looking for romance with a great storyline and some heat, look no further.

Will Bahir find love with Amy?
Leslie North is one of my top ten authors and I absolutely love her sheikh stories! Amy is volunteering at an orphanage while writing some journalism. Sheikh Bahir finds his sick daughter in the care of Amy who tells Bahir that rebels were looking for his daughter. But what happens after Amy helps Bahir’s daughter get settled at the palace? You have to read to find out and Leslie will have you squirming in your seat!
These two meet and don’t even take much notice of one another outside of the situation they found themselves in at the time. Later, when another of the uncles many secrets, they meet again and things turn into a suspenseful situation. Things are hot and heavy and makes things burn quickly. I cannot wait to see what’s next!
