This is the first book in The Sheikh’s of Hamari Series by Leslie North which focuses on Hannah Fisher, an American single parent of a son (Ryan) whose deceased royal husband has left them destitute, and Prince Sheikh Chakir, who brings Hannah and Ryan to Hamari to claim their rightful place in the royal family. Their relationship experiences conflict over the traditional role Hannah is expected to take on in Hamari versus her American independent behavior. Leslie North has written a wonderful novel emphasizing the cultural clashes between individuals of two different countries even as they fall in love with each other.

Chakir had a job to do, find his cousins son and bring him back to Hamari for his crowning ceremony. Hannah was struggling to make ends meet since her 5 year old son Ryan’s father died is a terrible accident and no longer was sending her money to help her make ends meet. When she got home from work, her landlord was on the front porch waiting to evict her. What was she going to do, that was until she heard a man’s voice, an accent she recognized, telling her landlord that he was settling her past due rent and mentioning that Ryan, by virtue of being his cousins son, was actually a Prince.
After talking to Chakir and hearing this news and his request to bring Ryan back to Hamari for his crowning ceremony in a few weeks time. Hannah had thought this was crazy and she would find a new place to live and raise her son, that was until a peeping Tom was trying to take pictures of her son sleeping, probably for the tabloids.
The next day she contacted Chakir and the whirlwind of her life began.
Chakir is all about tradition and Hannah is not at all traditional and her ideas bend the rules quite a bit.
The attraction between Hannah and Chakir is strong but Chakir know he needs to follow tradition. Can Chakir and Hannah find love or will tradition and Hannah’s “American ways” keep them apart?

Beautiful love story. It was love at first sight for Sheikh Chakir when he arrived at Hannah’s home to take her & her son Ryan who was his late cousins son. Ryan was only 5yrs old & moved to a foreign country & was straight away put to learning the ways of his new country reading for his crowning ceremony which was not going too well. Hannah had made suggestions about how Ryan might learn things quicker & also that he needed to still be a little boy but this was going against the country’s traditions that Chakir had to uphold as brother to the King. He & Hannah spent time in bed together & sneaking kisses when nobody was looking but then summonsed by the council them telling him he was failing in his duties of training Ryan & that he should stop his mother from interfering. He changed towards Hannah & Ryan becoming more abrupt, stern telling Hannah to stay away which as soon the ceremony was over moving to a different part of the Palace, she had started having strong feelings for Chakir but he made it obvious he didn’t feel the same, although he did feel the same but he couldn’t go against his country’s tradition & elders until his brother the King told him he should follow his heart. I was so hopeful that he would give him & Hannah a chance at their happy ever after & not let outside forces stop him.

This was a great start to a new series by Leslie North. I felt bad for the way Hannah and Ryan meet Chakir but am glad they decided to go with him. Hannah and Chakir didn’t have it the easiest but I enjoyed their story and am looking forward to the next book.

Sheikh Chakir gets things done. When he is sent to America to bring back a relative for coronation he finds a hidden treasure in the child’s mother, Hannah. There is a spark between them. Will it be allowed to become more under the rules & customs of her new home? Will Chakir learn from her non-traditional ideas? I like that Hannah advocates for her son’s best interests. She maintains a delicate balance of naughty & nice with Chakir that allows her to indulge in a relationship with him and still be true to herself. The main characters learn from each other to reach a HEA. Good beginning to this series and I look forward to reading the next book.

Oh boy!!! She is the mother to a Prince of Hamari and didn’t even know it
The Sheikh’s American Lover is the first book in the Sheikhs of Hamari series by Leslie North. It is a sweet, fun, dramatic, emotional, romantic and sexy story. The book is well written and the story-line is engaging and interesting. Plus the characters are great as they deal with their emotions, family and outside forces.
Hannah Fisher is twenty-seven years old and a single mother to 5 year old Ryan. She lives in Chicago, works as an assistant kindergarten teacher at Brookside Elementary School while also running an after school program to make some extra money. But she has been struggling for a while now with no money ever since Ryan’s father, Tahir, died in a car accident. He was a cousin to the King of Hamari or something like that as she was not sure. Getting pregnant and being a single mother was not what she had envisioned for her life. But having Ryan was worth it as she loved her son fiercely. Tahir was good about sending money but that stopped with his death four months ago, well actually before that as he was cutoff by the family. So now she is behind her rent by three months and on this Friday night her landlord Greg is evicting her. She has to be gone by the end of the weekend or he is throwing her out.
Sheikh Chakir Al-Shafar (Chakir) is the first in line to the throne of Hamari, after his older brother the King. He was sent to Chicago to located and bring Hannah and Ryan to Hamari. No one in the family knew about Hannah and Ryan until he received a notice by Greg had sent a notice to Tahir in Hamari as he was also on the lease of the house. Chakir and his older brother Kishon believe that as Ryan is a Prince he should be in Hamari, living in the palace with the family, support, security, education and wealth.
Chakir walks up to the house in the middle of the conversation between Greg and Hannah. He ends up writing a check to cover the back rent and another year. But he wants Hannah and Ryan to leave the house and return to Hamari with him. There are sparks that fly between them as soon as they lay eyes on each other. But Hannah is a modern American woman who is a worker and is used to doing things herself. She is not about to pack up and leave for a lavish life in Hamari, as it would just be a “gilded cage” to her thinking. It will take Greg trying to take a picture of Ryan in the middle of the night for Hannah to realize that they are not safe here and need to leave. The next morning when Chakir arrives back at her door Hannah already has their suitcases packed and waiting by the door. It seems Hannah and Ryan are about to set off on a grand adventure to Hamari. It will see Ryan being crowned a Prince of Hamari, Chakir in turmoil over being torn between the old ways and making modern changes along with his ever growing feelings of possessiveness and protection for both Hannah and Ryan. Hannah on the other hand is going to have to learn how to be a member of the royal family of Hamari, after all she is the mother of a Prince whether she likes it or not. But there are also her feelings for Chakir and her protection around Ryan. Don’t mess with a mother lion unless you want to get bite and Chakir learns that a few times along the way. But in the end there is no denying the pull and desire that Chakir and Hannah have for each other. It is a longing, then grows into a friendship, then into lovers and then finally to love.
I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading the next in the series. After all, Chakir cannot marry until the oldest son is married so his next project is to find King Kishon a wife. But Kishon may have someone already in mind, even if she is not appropriate to be the Queen. Sometimes you just have to listen to heart as it will lead you to your destiny.
A really good read! Beautifully written, well-developed, funny, witty, and emotionally deep with drama, differences, traditions, and ups and downs. Strong characters with great chemistry between them. Quite an enjoyable read and I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Hannah has got problems after the checks from his son’s father stop coming. She is late in her rent payments.
Chakir always follows the rules of her tribe. However, after meeting Hannah, he starts to bend them to the utter discontent of the elders of Hamari.
Learning the rules, customs and behaviour of the royal family are going to be a great effort for Hannah but even more for Ryan.
Well-written, great chemistry between Chakir and Hannah, the teasing of Kishon and the geniality of Ryan make this story a great one to enjoy.
Looking forward to reading Kishon’s story.

I love this author and this genre. I volunteered to read an advance copy for an honest review.
First in this newest series. Enjoyable read. Although I must observe, a third of Ms. North’s characters end up with their very own Sheikh, lol. No exception here, there is romance, drama, angst and steam. Add to your vacation read list, along with an adult beverage. TBR.
The Sheikh’s American Lover by Leslie North. This is Chakir and Hannah and story. I really enjoyed this story. Chakir was tasked to pick up and bring his cousin son back. To train him to become a prince. From the moment he met Hannah and whisk her and her son to his country he knew things had changed. She made him rethink all his rules. As they got to know each other, their attraction grew stronger and stronger everyday. She was changing him for the better. This was fun to read.

Leslie North has always brought to two people together who were complete opposites. The Sheikh is trying to help the wife and child of his deceased cousin. It is a wonderful meeting of the west and the east. They have trouble with understanding the each other but in the end everything comes together. The characters are well written with chemistry flying off the page. The characters take you on fantasy filled ride through the book.

Hannah Fisher is a single mother to Ryan and barely making ends meat working as a assistant kindergarten teacher. Hannah has fallen 3 months behind on rent since the checks she received from Ryan’s father stopped when he died in an accident. Prince Chakir shows up on Hannah’s doorstep while she is trying to convince her landlord not to throw her and Ryan out. Chakir pays off the landlord explaining that Hannah and Ryan would be returning to his country. Chakir explains to Hannah that they didn’t know about her and Ryan until they received the demand of payment from her landlord. Hannah refused Chakir’s offer, and Chakir knows he will have a hard time convincing Hannah to go with him when he comes back the next day. When Hannah catches her landlord trying to take a picture of Ryan through his window, Hannah knows her and Ryan have no choice but to leave with Chakir. Chakir is surprised that Hannah is packed and ready to leave with him the next day. After meeting the King, Hannah asks Chakir to oversee Ryan’s lessons to get him ready for his crowning ceremony. Chakir and Hannah are attracted to each other and give into their attraction. Chakir feels torn between his feelings for Hannah and the traditions the council expects him to uphold. An argument with Chakir leads Hannah and Ryan to move to their own wing in the palace. Can the King get Chakir to admit he loves Hannah? Will Hannah forgive Chakir when he asks for forgiveness and professes his love for her? What does the King ask Chakir to do for him? I really enjoyed The Sheikh’s American Lover by Leslie North. Hannah is an independent and strong willed woman. Chakir upholds the traditions of his country but needs to bend the rules. The chemistry between Chakir and Hannah is explosive. I would definitely recommend getting The Sheikh’s American Lover by Leslie North.

Really enjoyed this sexy, exciting and action packed adventure filled with engaging charters, witty banter, heart racing twists and undeniable passion. A great read from beginning to end and so hard to put down this emotionally thrilling journey.
Super premier book!
There’s nothing like Ms. North’s books about exotic princes, their lands, and the lucky girls that win their hearts. In this story Chakir travels to America to find his late brother’s son. Of course there’s more to the story, and Hannah is certainly much much more than he had imagined. Protective is the first trait he notices about her, and he admires it greatly. He is there to take them back to his country where Ryan is part of the royal family. It was difficult to put this book down until I’d finished it as there was either something happening or about to happen. As always great characters, good story, and terrific writing make this a must read for both new and “addicted” readers.
