Makayla Riggs is convinced her father was wrongfully convicted, and she’s going to prove it. Her father died in prison in Qadir, a tiny Arabic country, after being found guilty of stealing a diamond from the royal family. Convinced her father was framed by the al Baians, the powerful family he was working for, Makayla heads to Qadir and finds an unlikely ally in Sheikh Baqir Abdul-Rahman, who has … has his own suspicions about the al Baians. As the two work together to uncover the truth, Makayla can’t help but find herself falling under the charming sheikh’s spell. How can she not when Baqir is the only one who believes her father was framed?
Baqir is trying to solve several other jewelry thefts and knows he’s treading in dangerous territory to place blame for all the thefts on the al Baians. Yet he finds himself willing to do just about anything to help Makayla. Their long nights investigating the original theft brings them closer, and it isn’t long before the two finally give in to the red-hot chemistry that’s been torturing them since they met. When Makayla is threatened by the al Baians, Baqir is desperate to protect her; a kind of desperation that feels like more than chemistry: he’s fallen deeply in love with the beautiful American. But will Baqir be too late to save Makayla, will she disappear forever from his life?

There is a little drama and intrigue wrapped in a pretty good story. This is not my favorite of the series but a quick read. If you are looking for a simple, easy story line with steam, this one is for you. Leslie North, does crank out the books, she needs to invest in better covers and titles (just my opinion). Quick, easy fun read for a leisurely day.

I loved it. I realize that I say that a lot.
But I really do. It also helps that Sheikh books are my jam. Baquir and Makayla were spectacular from the very beginning all the way to “The End”.
I would highly recommend this book.

Jewelry thefts and so much more will bring them together
The Sheikh’s American Assistant is the second book in the Qadir Sheikhs series and tells the story of Makayla Riggs and Sheikh Baqir Abdul-Rahman. He is the third and youngest son of the royal Qadir family and she is working as a maid in the royal palace. She is actually working undercover to try and find evidence that her father is innocent for a crime that he was sent to prison for. Unfortunately he died four years ago while still in prison so she wants to clear his name as she is positive he was framed.
When she is snooping around trying to find evidence she sets off alarms and must make a quick escape for the palace. As she is running she is offered a ride by a man in an SUV, who turns out to be Baqir. He has come to the palace to also look around to see if he can find evidence of several jewelry thefts over the last years.
These two have an immediate attraction but a goal they aligns with the other. If they work together they may just find the evidence of who has been stealing the jewels. But there is danger all around and Baqir will need to protect Makayla as she keeps getting herself in bad situations.
This is a fun and very action packed story that has mystery, suspense, action, danger, drama, romance and of course some very hot and steamy sexy time. The characters are interesting and the story-line held my attention.

A thrilling addition to her Qadir Sheiks series
Makayla, a translator, is nearly run over by Baqir, the youngest prince, as she runs from the household she was working in. As the story progresses they find they have a similar problem, working in close quarters draws them closer together, and if they cannot figure everything out there could be dire consequences. Leslie North’s the Sheikh’s American Assistant is a thrilling addition to her Qadir Sheiks series. Now if only I had a crystal ball to tell me what she has planned for Zaman and if there is anything in the works for Amina.

The great character and plot development kept me totally engaged as each and every page was turned! I always enjoy reading what this author writes!
Convinced her father was wronged and died in prison, she is determined to find the truth. She poses as a maid and literally runs into the sheikh. They are on similar missions in learning the truth about jewel robberies over the past decade and decide to work together. Only their chemistry is drawing them closer.
