A banished Fae. A web of lies. Will an impossible bargain send me to my doom? After three long centuries, I have one last chance to end my exile and return home to Faerie. All I need to do is smoke out a supernatural traitor at some secret government lab in Atlanta. But, as with any Fae bargain, there are complications… kitten. An invisible murderer. And an annoying gargoyle babysitter who thinks he’s an expert on all things Fae.
Oh, and it’s becoming obvious that I’ve been set up by someone in the Court of the Light Fae Queen (a.k.a. my grandmother) to fail.
Can I unmask a sinister cabal before I smite the Fae-splaining gargoyle and lose my ticket home…or my life?

I really enjoyed this urban fantasy that is the start of a new series! Reine has been exiled to earth and would do anything to go back home to Faerie. When she’s offered a chance to earn her way back home she takes it suspiciously because she knows hows tricky Fae are and that they can’t be trusted. Reine must solve a mystery and stay alive when someone wants her out of the way. This story has lots of suspense and mystery which I loved! The pacing is just right to keep you in the story’s grip. I liked Reine and wanted her to succeed and I really liked the world it’s set in. I definitely recommend this book!

I liked this book as it was full of supernaturals, Fae, magic, suspense, mystery, evil and betrayal. The plot was drawn out (in the best way) to feel the suspense and deliver a sense that something was wrong. Even though this is the first book I have read from this world with multiple series in it, it was not too hard to figure out who was connected and how they all fell into place in the life of Reine. The story was fun yet interesting and kept me reading just to find out who stole the vial and then how it all fit into both the small and bigger mysteries that seemed to be happening. I laughed and groaned throughout the story. The characters were fun and kept me guessing on who the bad guys could be. I was hooked from the beginning and loved it. Cannot wait to see hat happens next.
I thought that the story line was fabulously done. The book had a great flow. Loved the twists that happen.I thought the character work was tremendous. I couldn’t stop reading until the book was over. I am eagerly waiting for the next book in the series.

Reine is a 500-year-old fairy who just wants to go home. Banished from her homelands for helping her brother Rhys out, she will do anything to get back home. Something sinister comes after Reine just as she is asked to be a part of a group of scientists asked to help investigate something that could destroy the paranormal community. Solving this one is Reine’s ticket home. Of course, nothing is that easing, especially for a fae who trusts no one.
The Shadow Project has many surprises, a betrayal that breaks your heart, intense suspense, action, murder, and plenty of supernatural activity. There are a couple of budding romances and an adorable kitten that is much more than he seems. The book ends where I assume the next book begins—nothing like a family reunion to send your day straight into the dumps. Book 2 is a must-read!
