Really enjoyed the entire volume set of Alex Vane.
I enjoyed reading a cyber story that included characters acting from pain that I find very believable. Plus, I enjoyed the Cuban tang brought into the plot.
This book was just OK for me. Some profanity, but no sexual situations. Similar to a spy novel.
This is a pleasant read for all ages. Alex is contacted by an old nemesis who wants his help to find a hacker. Interesting, a nemesis wants Alex to help find a hacker who is an old friend of Alex’s. The board is set and ready for a game.
We learn that Alex has a bad history with this nemesis and the result is frightening. A ticket arrives and Alex and his wife Greta decide it is really his old friend so off they go. The pot twists and turns and friends die. Alex’s friend is responsible for a ransomware attack on security agencies that killed the husband of Alex’s friend, Innerva. In the end it is another friend who “saves the day.”
Yes, it is safe for young readers, no sex, and the violence is not as bad as a video game. The descriptions leave out the gore.
Enjoy.
I was disappointed in this book. The premise was so contrived and the action so improbable that one couldn’t suspend one’s reality to enjoy the story. I continually would read a passage and think, “that isn’t believable” It really made it less than enjoyable and actually a struggle to read it to the end.
I wasn’t sure at first, because I don’t care aabout cyber-hacking, but it got really interesting in a hurry.
Assassinations, corrupt security firms, hackers and investigative journalists. This story moves at a fast clip as Alex Vane hunts for the truth behind a friend’s death. An entertaining read.
Never quite knew what was going to happen next. The characters were good and believable, and the plot was good as well. I’d recommend this book.
Interesting!

I’m not usually into hackers and computer based stories but this was really well written and had tons of twists, turns and action….LOTS of action.
