Tore my heart open. Amazing inspiration for those struggling to find God in midst of their pain.
I didn’t finish reading this book. Have this book to my sister who loved it
I loved reading this book it strengthed my faith, I now look at things differently. If you believe this is a must read!
I don’t agree with the theology, but it was an interesting read.
Did not like it. Unrealistic
The best book ever! Changed my outlook!
All I can say is “READ THIS BOOK!” Especially now, as so many of us struggle with conditions that are way out of our control, this book will renew your faith.
I have read this book twice because I felt like there was so much to the story. It is worth reading twice – it’s that good.
I am the child of divorce, my Father was not in the raising of me. so when someone would say “GOD the Father”, I had no idea what that meant other than gone…..
this takes another look at GOD
I really liked this book..
Excellent book! Very inspirational, and thought provoking. As a Christian, I thought it expanded and encouraged my beliefs.
This book was absolutely beautiful. I don’t know what more to say really. I’ve got a more detailed review on my book review channel if you want to learn more. Otherwise, this review about sums it up. Just a wonderful book
Horrible theology…i would not wish this book on my worst enemy
This is the best book I have ever read. I am a avid reader. I usually don’t reread books but I am on my fourth reread. I learn more each time I read it. It is a tear jerker but is also so inspirational. The characters are not what you would expect but you learn to love them.
Great read for Christians or anyone who is seeking more information about God.
This book is great the reality your getting is everything
It shows a different way of thinking about the Holy Trinity.
Prayers may be answered but not in the way you expect.
This book is for sure a tear-jerker, It’s not a conventional approach to the trinity, but does a good job helping one try and understand it. One of the saddest and happiest books all wrapped into one.
Thought provoking!!!
THE SHACK is as deep as you want it to be.
An interesting perception shared was that there is no hierarchy in spirituality. I thought there was, so that was a whole new concept for me to ponder on.
Got a little preachy in the middle through the end, but raised some good points to think on. At times I was confused, unsettled, upset. The plot was a little upsetting but there are glimmers of hope of you stick with it.
The following quotes helped me to understand my own heart better:
“I suppose that since most of our hurts come through relationships so will our healing, and I know that grace rarely makes sense for those looking in from the outside.”
“It was even difficult for him to look me in the eyes; maybe he didn’t want to enter conversation that might tear the scab off his wounded heart.”
“Humans are so lost and damaged that to you it is almost incomprehensible that people could work or live together without someone being in charge.”
“Once you have a hierarchy you need rules to protect and administer it, and then you need law and the enforcement of the rules, and you end up with some kind of chain of command or a system of order that destroys relationship rather than promotes it.”
This book is right in the middle of the road for me. I loved the ending! In my opinion, the book gets better and better. Tough subject material, but it does touch the heart in a certain way. Life is surely a great mystery.
I don’t think I’ll be watching the movie because I don’t need visuals, but I did purchase a copy from my local used book store to re-read every couple of years when my perceptions on life or faith need restoration.
I was under no obligation to write a review, my honest opinion is freely given.
Loved it! I read it in one sitting.
This book is not a Christian book. It is an apostate story not worth the paper it is written on.
