Against his better judgment, he arrives on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change his life forever.

This was a weird book that received a lot of criticism from Christians. But you have to constantly remember that it is fiction which was hard to do at times
Sappy story, not recommended. Also this view of God and the Holy Spirit is not according to the Bible. Fiction, and maybe dangerous fiction.
I really didn’t like it.
Not scriptural.
Everyone should read this book!
My father leant this book to me, after he highly recommended it. This book was truly amazing! I absolutely loved it!
The Shack offers an awesome, yet surprising, peak at who God may be, expanding our understanding of his character and personality. Read it to embrace more fully who he is.
My favorite book of all time!!! Unforgettable
Very well written and thought provoking!!
Inspirational, let’s you rethink your beliefs or lack of.
I would recommend this book for everyone to read. It’s a very spiritual read, that causes you to think.
The story was not a bad one and at the time that I first read this book it offered a view of God that made God more approachable and opened my eyes to an understanding of the trinity which was both awe inspiring and down to earth this is perhaps one of my biggest issues with this book because it tends to make God much too small my other issue is that its not biblical it may have a role to play though in softening the soil in the lives of potential believers
Did not like this book at all, did not read last two or three chapters. Unrealistic !
In my top 20 books.
This book helped me to see God behind the box I had Him in. Sad story, but great story of God’s redeeming love.
This is a must read. A wonderful story of faith and love.
I usually say “the book was better”, but this time, the movie was better.
Truly made me rethink my visions of Heaven.
If you are a “religious” person you may not like this book. If you know that after a moral failure of the author, the first person from his church to offer him restoration was a black woman, you might accept his perspective. No I don’t believe God is a black woman. But, that black woman was certainly God’s hand extended to that former pastor. This book encouraged me in God’s love for me and my future in eternity.
This book starts out very tragically, so it’s painful in the beginning. But when the character Mack meets God in the form of a woman named Papa, the journey he goes on is amazing. It will bring comfort to those who have lost a loved one and believe in God. I’ve read it many times and recommend it or give it to many.
