This is a great book for anyone going through a trial. It gives the reader a unique perspective on the nature of God-a must read!
Although “The Shack” has its critics, the novel delivers on so many different levels. It’s the clash between faith and tragedy, rage and forgiveness, and religion versus real, genuine relationship with the Maker.
I really love this parable about a father who has to journey through the loss of his young daughter, as well as a difficult upbringing. …
This book provided a truly inspiration view of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It brought home the power of faith (and the necessity of never losing it!).
Helped me let go of things I carried for far too long. I’ve seen people argue over the underlying theology, but don’t let that scare you off. God is love and God forgives. The book conveys this powerfully. We can fight over the definition of the Trinity somewhere else.
Difficult topic of a child kidnapping by a stranger then found murdered after she was raped. The emotions of each character were explored & addressed well as each went through multiple areas of grief. Although the why is not explained (truthfully how can it be when there was so much pain & a child was murdered) the book gives hope that in time …
It is a book of hope in God’s love for us and the possibility of what God has prepared for those who love Him.
Wow! Life changing!
This is a fabulous book! You will find yourself wanting to read it again and again! I found this book to be life-changing!!!!!
This was the most moving and inspirational book I have ever read. From the first page I was carried through an amazing journey to the last page. One reading of this book is not enough.
A wonderful inspirational book. I have read it 4 times and I saw the movie 3 times. I was taken so deep within myself that I did not know I had anything that deep. I loved the book.
This story may not be for everyone, it takes you to places that you can only imagine. It was also made into a movie that I have watched several times. I would recommend the movie as well.
A unique way to see God at work
I did not like this book.
Very different from what I normally read, so mind provoking
Loved this book. I actually bought it after I borrowed and read it from the library. Love to recommend this to people.
I do not recommend this book. It pushes new age mysticism.
I don’t know what to say. This book was intensely emotional, revealing what I believe is truly the nature of God.
If you haven’t read The Shack yet (or seen the film), I recommend both. Even if you don’t embrace all the symbolism, it is filled with profound messages.
This is a book I started reading and didn’t expect to like it, but I absolutely fell in love with it! I know this book is controversial for its portrayal of God and Heaven, but I found it refreshing and quite thought-provoking. Sometimes we get “stuck” in our mental conception of what something is or looks like. The Shack makes the reader question what they have always believed – in a good way. I think that when you are forced to question your thoughts it allows you to think outside the box and solidify those thoughts. Ultimately this is a book of hope and love. If you haven’t read The Shack, do it! In fact, I think I’ll go reread it right now (before the movie comes out).
I realize, as a Christian, that this book is NOT the Bible, and that in order to hear the Truth, I need to go to my Bible. However, keeping in mind that this is a work of FICTION, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was heartbreaking and funny and sad and soul searching. It helped me to understand the Trinity. It made me want to seek out a relationship with God (I read this book shortly before becoming a Christian). It is an amazing book with many personal lessons.
