A new standalone romantic comedy from New York Times bestselling author, JA Huss, and Actor/Screenwriter, Johnathan McClain. EDENI’m just a simple girl who likes dessert. And sexy men. And social media. So starting an anonymous video channel called The Sexpert as a side hustle to make up for my low-paying marketing job at Le Man Magazine seemed like a perfectly sensible career decision. Until we … like a perfectly sensible career decision. Until we went viral, my boss accused my anonymous personality of stealing his idea, and now my super sexy new boyfriend, Andrew, is out to get me.
Her. Me. Whatever.
ANDREW
I don’t want it to be her. I do not want this… sweet, delicious, shy social media nerd working at my best friend’s magazine to be the face behind those perky cupcakes on the Sexpert channel. I don’t want it to be her… because I like her. A lot. She’s funny, and quirky, and smart, and creative… and… I really, really like her. It just can’t be her.
But it is.
And now I have to choose.
My best friend?
Or… The Sexpert?

This book was so much FUN! I needed a deliciously sexy, funny book and JA Huss and McClain did not disappoint. I also loved that it took place in Denver. I’m a bit biased about any book that takes place in Colorado since that is where I live and one of my favorite places! Read and enjoy <3
Eden is moving up in the world. She has been saving for two years to move into the TDH. Tall, Dark and Handsome building. On move in day her secret is blasted out on the radio. Her secret is……she has a YouTube channel call the Sexpert. She has created a show to give guys & girls sex tip advice. What starts as a great day quickly turns south.
Andrew is moving into the TDH. He is also starting his new company in the office buildings located at the heart of the TDH community. But on move in day his best friend, Pierce calls in a panic. Pierce’s La Man magazine is failing and this Sexpert has stolen his idea. So he begs Andrew to help him find the thief and sue the pants off her.
When Andrew bumps into Eden he is drawn to her. But what he doesn’t realize as they fall for one another is that Eden is hiding a big secret. Can he get her to come clean??
Oh my god this book was hilarious and fun to read. I absolutely loved the characters. They were very fun, energetic and exciting. And the sexy innuendos……oh my! I may never look at desserts the same way again. Too funny! “Cupcakes” 😉
Her Secret Creamy Filling:
Ok, it’s not a secret but it can be harder to find than the missing cookie in the cookie jar. First rule of finding her secret creamy filling is…… you never find yours before she finds hers. There is no exception to this rule, guys. EVER.
This book is the true meaning of rom-com. What is a rom-com you say? Let me explain it to you. The definition of a rom- com is this: romantic comedy: a story about love that is intended to make you laugh. That’s right! And let me tell you, this was some funny romance. This book had me cracking up. It was so much fun.
I am in love with the characters of the TDH. I really hope that this is not the only book with these characters. Eden is sweet and shy, with a wanna be wild side. I am not saying she is good at being wild, but she sure has the confidence to try.
Andrew is a sweet and sexy beast. He is the perfect person for Eden. He loves her quirkiness. It takes a real man to truly love someone who is a bit of a nerd and has many unique qualities.
I remember thinking that she is four or five things rolled up into one sexy, silly, dorky, clever, funny.
Overall all this book is a 10, but I only have 5 star ratings, so yeah. This book is the perfect blend of fun and romance. It is hot and sexy. It is sweet and romantic. It is just a big ball of fun. The characters are highly entertaining and the story plot is unique. The book flows flawlessly and has a lot of enjoyable banter between the characters to hold your interest and keep you wanting more. It is a steady pace read that you will not want to put down. I really really like…..hope that another book is written with these fun-loving characters. If you are looking for a read that will make you laugh and your heart melt, then this is the book for you. So pick up your copy today. You will be glad you did.
This book is like a rom-com because Eden and Andrew are just too funny when they are around each other. They are both not comfortable in a social situation so when they interact with each other, their attraction makes it harder for the both of them to actually have a sane conversation!
Eden is a social media expert who has a secret identity on the internet making videos call Sexpert! No one really suspects that it is Eden since she tries to make herself invisible in real life. Andrew is a billionaire but is not sure if he wants that life. He was studying to be an artist but an unusual creative project got its hook into Andrew and even after everyone else bailed on the project, he kept working on it and developed a voice changer which made him rich. Andrew creates his own company and decide to move to Denver since his best friend is there.
Eden and Andrew both work and live in the community called Tall Dark and Handsome (TDH). They had an unusual introduction to each other and keep running into each other after the initial introduction. The attraction is there for both of them and they clumsily figure out a relationship. But Andrew’s best friend happens to be Eden’s boss’ boss and he is fired up in trying to figure out who the Sexpert is since he believes they stole his ideas. Andrew tries to help his friend and Eden can’t get herself to out herself. There are so many things going on that gets in the way of Eden and Andrew that they must figure out where they are headed!
This book made me laugh out loud in so many of the scenes. Great story and hope there will be more about the people in the “TDH community”.
The Sexpert is a stunning example of a collaboration that works. The characters, the conflict, the dialogue….it’s all brilliant. I can’t get enough of Huss and McClain, and this book is my favorite so far!
Eden and Andrew are so much fun, together and separate. She’s feisty and funny, and I loved everything about her. Her insecurity, her intelligence, and her clumsiness were endearing.
Andrew is not your average billionaire. Humble, down to earth, he’s a genuinely good guy who finds Eden fascinating, even when he suspects she’s keeping a secret that greatly impacts his best friend.
And speaking of best friend, Pierce almost steals the show! He needs his own book asap!
On another note, the EOBS (end of book s***) these authors write is epic. I love the glimpse into their process, their history, their life. 5+ stars!!
This book was hilariously funny and the characters were so perfectly awkward in the book. I really loved this read.
OMG this book had me laughing the entire time! If you are easily offended by crude, funny humor you will not enjoy this book, but if you love that type of humor…..READ THIS BOOK!!!!
Eden Presley is working at Le Man Magazine and finally has the money to move out of her dad’s house into her own apartment at TDH Neighborhood (Tall, Dark and Handsome) the happening place to live. Eden and her best friend Zoey also have a secret blog that they run called The Sexpert. On their blog, they disguise Eden’s voice, show her only from the neck down and talk about different sex techniques comparing them to bakery. What Eden didn’t realize is the owner of Le Man Magazine, Pierce Chevalier, secretly has been developing a similar idea. When Pierce finds out about The Sexpert he is convinced that someone from inside his company stole his idea. He gets his best friend, Andrew Hawthone to help investigate since Andrew’s voice disguising app is the one being used on The Sexpert.
On Andrew’s first day driving to TDH, he is stuck in traffic, next to a beautiful blonde. When his phone dies, he decides to go ask the blonde to borrow her charger. When traffic starts moving he forgets to give back the charger and hopes he will run into the blonde at the TDH. Of course he does run into Eden and their attraction is through the roof.
So when Pierce asks Andrew to help him find The Sexpert, he doesn’t realize at first that it is Eden, but he quickly catches on. As these two play a cat and mouse game, they can’t help control their feelings. and things progress quickly. They both feel like they have found “the one” but they both have secrets that they are not telling each other. When things finally blow up, it takes a huge leap of faith for these two to finally get back together.
I just loved these characters. Eden is such a fun, bubbly person and you can’t help but love her. Andrew just seems so down to earth and the type of guy you want to fall in love with. Together they were great!
Just not what I thought it would be.
This is book is so well written and hilarious from page one! Eden and Andrew meet in a traffic jam. She works for his best friend. The best friend who has asked him to track down ‘the sexpert’ as ‘she‘ has infringed on his intellectual property.
Eden is sweet and kind, slightly ruffled and Andrew is a man who seems unsure as to what he wants in life. They have quite a journey to find understanding and love.
Loved this book! It was fun, and sexy, and sweet, all rolled up into one story. Two very confused people meet under strange circumstances and things get even stranger from there. I loved both Andrew and Eden and hope we get to see more of them.
So much sexy fun!
Eden is kind of lost, in a job and no longer enjoys and feels stunted by. Socially she’s kind of a mess and suffers from a lack of self-confidence…until she gets on film for The Sexpert. She’s just having fun, it’s not really her because she has to research it, but it’s exciting.
Andrew is kind of a mess himself, although he believes his mountain climbing journey and communing with nature has helped him figure out who he is. Shocker when he finally realizes he definitely has not got it all figured out.
The banter and senseless conversations are completely amusing! I love them! Their mishaps are smile worthy and laugh inducing. Say hello to The Sexpert!
This one was all kinds of cute and fun. There were quite a few parts that had me chuckling. Zoey and Andrew have this whole quirky awkwardness thing going on that’s kinda adorable. It was for sure entertaining and I really liked it!
Hilarious and entertaining characters! I really could not put it down!
WOW!! Loved this Book so Hard!!! This Author Duo Huss & McClain are magically up to no good when they get together writing Books!! THE SEXPERT was So Hilarious, Witty, Fun, Quirky And Sexy Hot!! It was such a Page Turner!! I could not put it down and Instantly wanna know what was going to happen between the two characters- EDEN& ANDREW.
No Spoilers because this Book is a Must READ BOOK!! It Will Have you Laughing Out Loud and Melting your Panties & Hearts At the SAME TIME!!
LOVED VERY MINTUE OF THE SEXPERT!!
I really enjoyed this offering from JA Huss and Johnathan McClain. They continue to produce funny and hot books.
LOVE the chemistry and banter between Andrew and Eden. And cupcakes – who doesn’t love cupcakes?!
I look forward to reading more stories from the TDH .
All hail the writing power duo that is JA Huss and Johnathan McClain. They can make me laugh, cringe and flush all in the span of 300ish entertaining pages. They made adorkable, endearing characters come to life and left me wanting more from the people we met in the TDH.
Eden loves her job in the social media department of LeMan magazine (she would love it more if it weren’t for her witch of a boss Gretchen). Eden also loves her secret alter ego, The Sexpert, whose YouTube videos she creates with her BFF Zoey have gone largely unnoticed for a year. Except now that a local radio show has called attention to them, they’re getting A LOT of attention, and not all of it is good.
LeMan’s owner claims he thought of The Sexpert first, and is threatening damage to life, limb and livelihood if the person behind The Sexpert doesn’t reveal herself and give up the program. And he’s enlisted the help of his BFF, billionaire Andrew, to snuff her out.
This is where hilarity and hijinks ensue since Andrew and Eden already met and experienced a crazy sort of attraction to her. And not his suspicions nor her paranoia can prevent them from seeing where that attraction leads – even though they both fight it with everything in them (especially Eden).
Eden is a hot, awkward mess. She’s nothing like her Sexpert persona, especially when it come to seducing a man. She lied to Andrew over and over to protect herself and Zoey, and I totally understand why. With all the horrible punishments that her boss was threatening, and the fact that Zoey is a single mother who desperately needs the cashflow The Sexpert is bringing in, I get why she felt like she needed to deceive Andrew. But, honestly, I wanted to strangle her on more than one occasion. Andrew showed her over and over that she could trust him and that he could make things right. And I wanted her to come clean to him on her own.
For his part, Andrew is pretty fantastic. He manages his overly-excitable best friend like a pro. He handles the spazzy girl he’s crushing on like he knows what he’s doing. And even though he hates being CEO of his company, he takes the reins anyway when he needs to.
JA Huss has hinted that this might not be the last we see of the characters we met in the TDH. I sincerely hope that’s the case, because from where I sit, there’s a lot more stories that need to be told, and no one can tell them better than she and Johnathan McClain.
This book was just downright fun to read. It’s clever, witty, sexy, tender, chaotic and charming. Two people caught up in a whirlwind of their own awkward romance while dealing with deceptions, distrust, loyalries to friends and threats of lawsuits over intellectual property rights. Eden Presley is adorably nerdy yet sexy. She thinks of herself as average but with an exceptional pair of assets, her cupcakes. Andrew Hawthorne billionaire entrepreneur with the soul of an artist and the CEO of a tech company. Navigating a budding give/take, push/pull relationship is rocky at best. Fortunately, all’s well that ends well.
The Sexpert is the latest release from JA Huss and Johnathan McClain. After reading this book, my first thought was WOW Johnathan you bring out a completely different side of Julie that I like a lot. The Sexpert is fun and fabulous to experience from the beginning to the end.
The Sexpert is about Eden and Andrew. Eden Presley is stuck in a dead-end job that has no hope for advancement with her current chain of command. To give her career a kickstart in another direction, she teams up with her best friend, Zoey and develops a video channel using desserts to teach viewers how to improve their sex techniques while offering advice. Andrew Hawthorne comes into Eden’s life just as her video channel takes off. Unfortunately, Andrew is the best friend of Eden’s boss’ boss, Pierce. Pierce, the top dog at Le Man’s magazine who believes the Sexpert channel is his and the person who is using his plan is a corporate spy.
I am crazy about this story. Eden and Andrew are great characters. There is no way anyone can read this book and not root for them to jump the hurdles in their path to romance. Eden is a nerdy woman who is funny with the right mix of seriousness sprinkled in to make her vulnerable and loveable. She is strong and working hard for a woman who takes credit for every good idea Eden presents to her. Eden also struggles to do the right thing for her friend Zoey while wanting to be completely honest with Andrew knowing that it isn’t possible to do both at this time. She will make a decision at some point but is it the right one?
The initial meet of Eden and Andrew in a traffic jam is a hoot. Andrew is another great character who is honorable and funny. Andrew is one of those men who turns the heads of women who meet him while he only has eyes for Eden. It is entertaining to watch Andrew try to work out a way to be loyal to his best friend, Pierce while advancing his relationship with Eden. He is drawn to her even though she isn’t his usual type. It is an interesting take on the characters watching Andrew fight the same predicament that Eden is facing, how can he be with the woman he wants while staying loyal to a friend who helped him through a difficult time in his life.
The writing in The Sexpert is terrific. The story is told in alternating points of view that gives the reader an understanding of the dilemma that both characters face and the occasional anguish their decisions cause. The story unfolds at the appropriate pace to keep the reader’s engaged from start to finish. There are lots of laughs and hilarious situations. We also see a vulnerability in these characters that they hide with a joke like many people in real life.
I highly recommend The Sexpert. It is a story that will make you happy. It will also make you want more from the characters who live in Colorado’s Tall, Dark, and Handsome a neighborhood that I will be glad to visit as often as this writing duo decides to take me there.
Eden and Andrew stole my heart. I fell in love with both of them. Julie and Johnathan write these characters that are different but likable and funny! Even when they don’t mean to be. I truly love their books.
It’s a rom-com. Like, a legit rom-com. It’s so far out of the JA Huss norm that I have no idea what to say.
Except I thought it was hilarious. This is light and fun and sweet. This isn’t the dark and twisty ride that Huss-McClain took us on with the Orginal Sin series. Sexpert is on the complete opposite side of the spectrum.
And I think you’ll like it. It’s sweet, shy girl meets sexy billionaire. It’s cautious flirting and stolen kisses. It’s fun. And laughter. And being scared of opening yourself up to something and someone new.
You’re gonna meet new characters who will captivate you. Myrtle. Pierce. Zoey. Not to mention Andrew and Eden.
The sexpert was such a great surprise! I mean, obviously we are talking abput Ja Huss so I had no doubts on the book being awesome, but I am used to mind f*ckery and all, so this story was totally refreshing, funny, quirky, hot but packed with moments, sweet, thoughtful, butterflies inducing moments.
I started and wasn’t able to put it down..realising that I was halfway and I still didn’t move from my standing position lol.
Eden is very happy, always cheery, awkward and funny..I couldn’t help but love her.
Andrew has this whole idea of who he is and who is working hard to be, but it isn’t until Eden that he realises a few truths.
Pierce is the guy in the middle..andrew’s best friend and Eden’s boss, the one that influences some of their dynamics..he is kind of an ass but he also has his moments.
I adored this story and can’t wait for what’s to come
