She has only seven days to choose her destiny… Grace Ainsworth leads sufficiently fairy-tale-free existence as a legal file clerk in rainy Seattle. Her orderly life turns into a roller coaster of unusual events when a mysterious package arrives from her eccentric Aunt Louise. Named the next “carrier of the gifts”, she has only one week to sort through her inheritance or lose it all. It’s … or lose it all.
It’s finally her chance to get her dream job and maybe even her prince–if she doesn’t screw things up. But that “Happily-Ever-After” plan soon turns as ill-fitting as the pair of disagreeable high heels she’s forced to wear.
As she blunders through unpredictable magic that challenges her beliefs and uncovers the wounds of her past, Grace has to fight unexpected foes and save her workplace.
When everything she holds dear is put on the line, will she be able to rise up to her true calling before the clock strikes midnight on her 25th birthday? A perfect mixture of feel-good vibes, intrigue, clean romance, and a pinch of magic. Empowering book for all ages. Dive in to be entertained and inspired.

Courage and Magic. The Seven Lives of Grace is a wonderful and enchanting story of a young woman who grows and learns who she is with the help of mystical stones that she was gifted by her aunt. This book was a fun and inspirational story that I couldn’t put down. Elena Shelest weaves a story with such wonderful description and emotion that I hung onto every word! We can all relate to Grace at some point. Such a transformative and lovely book, I highly recommend it!
I loved that the book had a very Charmed (the series) and Cinderella vibe to it. When Grace, a filing clerk at a law firm gets a package from her eccentric aunt Lou, little does she know that her life is about to change forever. It’s a coming of age story mixed with romance, friendship and mystery with a few surprise twists along the way. The love triangle also kept me on the edge of my seat. Definitely recommend for lovers of new adult romance and coming of age stories with a fairy-tale undertone.
Intriguing story of choices and consequences with a MC who is not perfect (thank goodness!) and whose choices are a work in progress. Thought provoking and interesting!
With beautiful prose and storytelling, The Seven Lives of Grace is a sweet and funny story about Grace, a young woman who hasn’t yet reached her potential. From the start, the story pulls us into Grace’s unique point of view and into the urban fantasy story. Grace is from a long line of women who have been given treasures to guard. Will she succeed in time? More importantly, who will she be by the story’s end? I loved the way this story gently brought Grace to a happily ever after ending with plenty of humor along the way.
I sometimes struggle to get through a book in a timely manner but ‘The Seven Lives of Grace’ kept me coming back.
Bewitching & Inspirational! This book was recommended by another author and I am so glad that I followed her lead! An enchanting read, literally! Grace has a busy life that is about to be turned upside down…and sideways. She has to make a crucial choice among magical gifts sent to her just days before her 25th birthday. Discoveries abound with these mysterious stones, as well as within Grace herself and those around her in this new world. Artfully threaded throughout are uplifting tones of spirituality. A refreshing novel!
I read constantly and this was my favorite book in months – beating out even well known multi published best selling authors. Shelest has done a great job of building characters and writing a story with a bit of intrigue, romance, and suspense to create a delightful story. It’s also a story I’d happily share with any friends from 90 down to 14 years old because the protagonist deals with issues most any woman is confronted with at some point in life. I look forward to reading more from this author. I seriously expect to see this book on the best seller list.
An incredible book. I couldn’t put it down. This novel offers the most wonderful synthesis of transformational principles I’ve read in years. Grace founders in a life that is at its worst. She doesn’t take care of herself, is constantly worrying about her finances and allows her circumstances to stop her from achieving her dreams. Then, her aunt sends her an early birthday gift and everything changes.
Shelest has crafted a beautiful, uplifting story that reminded me of THE ALCHEMIST but is more grounded in our contemporary experiences of life in the 21st century. The novel is beautifully presented with exquisite quotes for each section and a tale of transformation worthy of Cinderella. I absolutely loved it.
And an extra bonus: well-written and a charm to read! Just awesome.
