The Serpent’s Kiss is a Regency-set historical romance with a high heat including M/F, M/M and M/M/F interactions. Those of a timid or nervous disposition are advised against indulging.

I have always loved historical romances, although lately it has been harder to find books that take the steaminess to a new level. The Serpent’s Kiss has done that splendidly here, with a two sexy hot rakes a la Vaughan and Lucerne, and their lady love interest, Lady Annabelle Rushdale. The taboo element and the resulting fallout is captured and portrayed very well. I felt the opposing forces and kept rooting for this hot trio to get their acts together. The chemistry oozed off the pages, and Vaughan was an amazingly sexy ringleader. One thing I would have liked to see was a clearer declaration of love at the end, though it was quite endearing already, call me old-fashioned!
THE SERPENT’S KISS is the seventh book in the Scandalous Seductions series, although I haven’t read any of the previous books.
Bella is going back home, accompanied by Lord Pennerly, to be a godmother for her deceased friend’s daughter. Lucerne, a lover who left them both eight months ago, will be there.
This is a LONG book! I had no idea there were six books prior to this one, but I don’t honestly know if you need them as most of their time together is rehashed over and over again.
I found the characters hard to like, for various reasons, but that appears to be me, as other reviews state how wonderful they are.
This is a menage book, but most of the time it is just two of them–either MM or MF. And our main female goes from hating the one who left, to having sex with him within five minutes–this is after three quarters of the book hating him.
This isn’t a book for me to re-read, and I won’t be reading any others in this series. Saying that, it has had some great reviews by others, so don’t take my word for it. Try it for yourself and see what you think.
This was my first read in this series and by this author, and I loved it! There is some sexy, steamy menage here, some self-doubt and uncertainty, and great love and romance. The characters and situation were well-developed and well-described. I love Regency romance that doesn’t settle into the same sweet and clean, run of the mill mold, and this one is unique and scintillating. I’m off to explore some of the preceding books in the series now. Enjoy.

The Serpent’s Kiss is the last step to Bella, Lucerne and Vaughan’s journey to HEA forever and ever AMEN! Lol Their journey has spanned thru five books and as a huge admirer of this author, I’ve walked it with them and damned if I’m not glad they are finally solid!
Even tho their story began with A Gentleman’s Wager waaaaaaaay back in the day, if you read this book without going back to that beginning, I honestly do not think you will be lost. I wasn’t lost and it has been a loooooooong time and a lot of books since I myself began their journey, so …..
There’s a lot of growing that Bella, Lucerne and Vaughan had to do for this poly relationship to even work, growing as a trio and individually. There’s a lot in their past they must redeem/overcome for all three to be happy together. *sigh* I keep wanting to give examples of behaviors or plot lines to relay what I’m trying to say but I don’t want to give away the plot at all. I can say that their struggle wasn’t trivial. If you can put your mind in the era of the 1800s then you will understand what I mean. And Madelynne didn’t miss a beat with any of it. No plot holes. Nothing left up in the air. And she wove this relationship thru its many bumps, she keeps the reader on edge as to whether a solid HEA will occur in the end. Not gonna lie …. I had doubts LOL … and I LOVE THAT! It was suspenseful without having mystery and it was captivating and of course, sexually charged! Because it wouldn’t truly be a Madelynne book if it was not uber sexually charged! (ppssttt…that’s my favorite thing about her stories lol)
I’ve loved the journey of Bella, Lucerne and Vaughan, sometimes more than others, but I’m happy they have a solid HEA because they deserve it! They are well developed complex characters that will grab your heart and not let go. It’s definitely not a smooth ride, but it’s beautiful and a #mustread!
The book is well written, very descriptive and somewhat lengthy. Of all three characters I loved Vaughn most of all. He was direct and upfront with his feelings and desires. Bella could not admit her love for the two men and was very insecure of her place in Vaughn’s life. She denied her feelings for Lucerne and after he left the two of them, she was afraid to admit she needed him back in her life. The bulk of the book was about Vaughn trying to get the three of them back together. It is very drawn out but it keeps your attention as you never know what will happen next. There are a lot of other happenings in the book that add to the story in a minor way. There is a HEA but a lot happens before this comes about. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would highly recommend it as a great read.
