This is a seriously dark and disturbing read. A riveting, haunting twisted family tail that I just couldn’t put down. From the beginning to the end of the book, the pace doesn’t slow down. Lots of twists and turns that keep you on your toes. The story line was fascinating; one of the most twisted serial killers I’ve ever read about.
Highly recommend this book.
lots of twists! Was a great read!
This book will stay with me forever! Excellent story, however I never want to know if this killer escapes prison. Lesley, please do not write a sequel to this book, as I could not ever want to know that he isn’t behind bars. This book was the most realistic fiction I have ever read. Great book, a must read for thriller fans!
This gives you a look at the often forgotten victims of criminals – their own families who have to live with the consequences. This woman’s tale is also tragic and a good reminder to the public at large the families of horrible people need to be regarded with sympathy too.
This book got my attention and really held me. Well written.
Definite page Turner. Kept thinking I knew what was going to happen but was wrong at every turn. Couldn’t wait to get into bed every night and keep reading. Never a slow pace. Will keep you guessing until the end!!
Entertaining read that keeps you turning the pages. I enjoyed the daughter’s narrative, but found that the parts written through the father’s perspective diminished the story a little.
Great book. Read it in 2 days. Page turner. Characters were great. Took nearly the whole book to figure things out. Twists and turns. The original description said one of the main characters was in the mafia. If they were, it was never mentioned in the book. If you like suspenseful books, this one is a great read.
.
I really enjoyed the family ties. I especially loved how they interacted.
Not as advertised. Slow.
What if you found out you were related to a serial killer? Would some of those things that happened around that person, that seemed innocuous at the time, give you pause to think? This was a good read.
Interesting with a psychological bent. Survivor story of courage to face an ugly family history
More of a snuff story in the end, but good for a quick read if you’re into the genre.
I liked the book, and especially the main character, but it did have a slightly formulaic slasher money feel to it.
Keeps you guessing !!!s
Ruth Rendell can write really well, and she does over and over again. This is another interesting take on a life, another of the millions of stories, but so much more interesting than most when told by Ms. Rendell.
I couldn’t put this book down!!! It was totally unexpected, you get sucked into the story and start feeling like the main character. After I read it, I couldn’t get it out of my head for days, really good!!!
Book was ok, not a wow. It was not scary or a page turner. It was a quick, easy, escape read.Characters not developed. I especially did not like her brother in law, seemed a little slow to understand what was happening.
The plot was interesting, but thecharcters were 2 dimensional, and the constant, repetitive description of the fathers sexcapades was annoying and distracting. Was glad when it finally ended.
Kept my interest. Page turner.
