Mallory’s fang-deep in political intrigue, but she won’t be alone. Join Mallory, Alex, Boone and the rest of the gang as they solve another murder while trying to keep the Society’s next CEO selection from imploding.
Fun crossover with Fairy Godmother Madeleine from Heartache in Heels. Lovely friendship building between Mallory and Star, but Mallory’s relationship with her sentient sword Tangwystl made the book special for me.
Mallory and Alex are just starting to figure out their relationship in the final pages of the story, so looking forward to next book in the series. Final Rating: 4.5

If you are new to this series, please immediately get the other books and read the series in sequence. You can enjoy this one as a stand-alone but you shouldn’t deny yourself the pleasure of experiencing all of the Vegan Vamp’s world.

I love this series!!!! Mallory’s inner dialogue makes me laugh – love it. She and Alex are having an issue and need to talk. Another murder and guess who is back on the case? We are still finding out new things about Mallory and what is really is or in addition to a vampire. The fairy godmother was a great add and loved the tie in with the Love Ever After Series (which I also love) and always love seeing Star (Night Shift Witch). This book was a little different to me than the others – in a good way. The ending was one of the best and hope we get even more info in the next book. Hope this series never ends!!!

Once again, Alex and Mallory are sent out to investigate a death in the enhanced community, but this victim hits too close to home for Alex. As they try to unravel the who and the why of this murder, they may be coming up against a foe even too strong for them and their allies. This is a really enjoyable series, with just enough quirkiness and humor about the odd habits that Mallory exhibits as a vegan vampire, trying to come to grips with her new condition, as well as finding purpose in her personal relationships. This story also introduced a new enchanting character, Madeline, that I am glad to see will be featured in new stories. Lots of action and of course, fighting with her favorite sword. Can’t wait for their next adventure. Disclosure: I am voluntarily reviewing this book and all opinions are strictly my own.

My favorite vegan vampire is at it again. She and Alex need to solve a security breach at HQ, but before they can do that, not just one murder happens, but two! This is a fairly quick funny read that is just what I needed during these stressful COVID-19 times. Mallory is as scatterbrained as usual and it’s always fun to try to figure out her thought process. Alex is yummy as always and it’s awesome to see everyone else, too. Boone especially gets some extra time in this story and I’m glad. Because who could ever hate such a special doggo? We get a new character in the form of Madeline. I like her. A lot. And I’m so glad I discovered she has a series of her own. Now I must read them! There is one character I’m concerned about at the end of this tale and it’s driving me a bit loony. I hope everything ends up ok and I look forward to Mallory’s next adventure.
