Seeking Fortune
Losing his wife and daughter to influenza shook James Colchester’s faith in God. As another epidemic threatens, he’s torn between what’s best for his fragile son: fleeing to his Welsh homeland, or staying put. In a moment of weakness, the black-haired, green-eyed Gypsy’s delicate touch on his palm quells his fear … and her beauty ignites a warmth he hasn’t felt in years.
Desperate to return to her people, Valentina goes against every lesson her mother taught her to soothe the Englishman into a false sense of security.
But as James’ quiet faith sparks a hunger to know it for herself, she realizes she’s made an unforgivable mistake. One that could rob James of his most precious gift—and destroy their chance for lifelong love.
Seeking Charity
Will the truth set her free … or keep her forever a prisoner of the past?
When Charity ran away with the Romany Gypsies, she left everything behind. Her name. A way of life constrained by English rules. The punishments her cruel father meted out in the name of God. And the young man who made it all bearable. Certain things she can’t hide, even in wild, remote Wales. A secret longing for the ease of English life. The wisps of faith that still linger. And her reaction to a handsome face she thought she’d never see again.
Daniel Hayward would recognize that voice anywhere. That unruly, copper-colored hair. Those piercing blue eyes. But what is Charity Weston doing wearing Gypsy garb in Wales…when she died years ago? For a moment, the grief that never quite left him is transformed into joy. But the walls between them now are built from bricks of culture clashes, bitter memories, and fear. To find his way, Daniel will have to trust as never before that God will guide their hearts home at last.
Does he love the girl she was…or the woman she has become?
Seeking Patience
Do people prove their worth by strength, or by character? Half-Romany, half-English lord, he lives a perilous Gypsy life … until a sweet English rose saves his life, and perhaps his soul. Widowed by a cruel husband, she’s given up all hope of love. Brought together in peril, they dare to reach for a brighter future together.
Luca Boldor, Romany leader, lives a nomad’s life in Regency England with his Gypsy caravan. Believing his noble father abandoned him at birth, he refuses to acknowledge his English blood, or live a settled life. But when a vicious attack by a rival leaves him bleeding on an English lady’s doorstep, he has no choice but to accept her help. Her gentle faith stirs his heart in a way he has long denied.
Lady Patience Blakwell, widowed countess, lives in near poverty. Her husband’s heir uses threats to keep her from demanding her rightful inheritance. With a few faithful servants, she exists quietly in the country, only her faith keeping her strong … until the day a bold, handsome Gypsy collapses in her hall. He’s unlike any man she’s ever known, and she’ll confront any subterfuge to keep him safe. But when a secret from Lady Patience’s past emerges, Luca must face his own past, or lose her and all hope of love.
Will this strong man humble himself to open his heart for his lady?

This is a really lovely historical romance series.. I loved it! It is inspirational and sweet, exciting and full of suspense.. The characters are wonderful!
I received a free copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Fortune:
A thorough Romany – Gentry romance. An interesting juxtaposition of superstition/fortune telling and Christianity. Forgiveness and loss, family and culture. A lot of stuff packed within these pages. I have mixed feelings about some of it, I was unsure of where things were being taken. However, I have no doubts about a 5 star rating.
Charity:
This is a wonderful and sweet, Christian regency novella. I liked the bit on romany culture. It’s always fun to learn something new when reading books. The characters and storyline were good and enjoyable also.
Patience:
Luca was such a striking character in Seeking Fortune, I’m thrilled to get his story. When I opened this book and read his name, I think my heart skipped a beat in anticipation.
I really enjoyed this rescuer romance. It was unique and well done. Many bumps along the way and I didn’t want to put it down. It was a grand adventure.
I was given a free copy of this book set in exchange for an honest review. All three of these books are such enjoyable reads! Definitely recommend the set enjoy.
Seeking Patience
Interesting storyline. There are many twists and turns that held my interest throughout. Luca holds many prejudices. Patience is beset by trouble at every point. Well written characters. Great ending that was unexpected.
I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
Seeking Fortune
Great storyline with wonderful, well written characters. A lot of information about the Romany culture and history in the Regency period. Love, heartbreak and forgiveness abound in this story. Very inspirational. I highly recommend this one.
I received a free copy of this book and this is my voluntary, honest review.
Seeking Charity
Good storyline and interesting characters. Daniel and Charity were childhood friends. She ran away at 14 and everyone was told she had died. When Daniel happens upon her in Wales, she must overcome her fears.
Seeking Patience
Seeking Patience is another wonderful story in the Seeking series.
I loved this story like I did the other two. This is the third book in the series.
Patience is a widow now and now a dowager duchess who has to rely on her stepson Lord Crispin to give her the money she needed for her home and needs. She was only allowed very few servants now as he didn’t see or care what she had. Crispin said she murdered his father. She did no such thing and can’t figure out why he said she did.
A gypsy man has fallen at her doorstep, very injured and needed help. She allowed him into the home to care for his wounds as she was a Christian woman who would not turn away anyone in need.
Luca was the man at her doorstep and he was very handsome and she wanted to also know more about this intriguing man and how he was injured and where he came from.
The become friends during his long convalescence, and they enjoyed talking to each other. He had secrets to keep from is birth and past as to who he is, or should have been had his father not abandoned him and his mother. Patience had her own secrets and neither wanted to talk about. After all they didn’t know each other well enough.
Luca is my favorite hero of the three stories in this series and Patience is my favorite heroine as well. I loved all three stories but I think this one is my favorite with a lot more going on and such turmoil for each.
They are good for each other and drawn to each other but Luca leaves her home often as he is also the leader of his gypsy tribe.
There relationship becomes a bit strained each time he comes to her home and then has to leave again and each time his injured leg needs more help from her and her lady’s maid Amelia.
I loved the ending also in this book as it has so much going on in the ending alone.
It’s another story in this series of Christian verses and principles and redemption and forgiveness and happiness.
Seeking Charity
I really loved this story. It’s a story about redemption and finding one’s true love yet again. Our hero and heroine were friends as children and did everything together. Also riding their horses and racing each other when they lived in England. But unfortunately, our heroine leave home because of her abusive father and she had no mother as she died in childbirth for her only child.
They find each other again as her Gypsy caravan she joined 6 years before has stopped to spend time near the grounds of friends and the gentleman’s wife used to be a Gypsy herself.
When our hero arrives to visit the same family with his sister, he notices a girl in the caravan that looks like his lost friend whom he loved dearly. They were told when she left that she died. But he really feels this is her.
They meet once again and spend time together on the estate again riding and racing and picnicking. They both realize at some point they love each other and have for a very long time. But of course, obstacles stand in the way and he loses her once again. It is very wonderfully composed story with wonderful characters that will melt your heart along with at least one rather a snob.
. Ms. Riviera really is a romantic at heart and writes Christian inspirational stories and other inspirational stories but most have some scripture in them.
Seeking Fortune
Another wonderful story in the Seeking series. This is book 1 in this series and I loved this one as a lot of history about the gypsies is included and it is another story of the heroine’s strength and her gumption and her way of bantering with the hero a Welsh gentleman and his taking in two sister gypsies and getting them medical attention. They have to stay at his English manor for our heroine’s sister to rest and let her broken arm heal and to feed them both and have them rest inside instead of outside in a tent.
Our hero is delighted by our heroine and her fun way to banter and her beauty is has just grabbed a hold of his heart. They spend a lot of time together and start falling for each other but our heroine just can’t come to tell him her palm reading he wanted wasn’t what she really saw.
Her sister also falls in love with the blacksmith so they both love staying there and have been invited to stay as long as they want.
This is a good story with good Christian principles and scripture and our heroine starts reading the bible and starts to understand about a God that is in control. She starts praying and reading more and more.
Our hero has to leave for another battle. While he is gone our heroine starts to rethink what to do as he has asked her to marry him and she can’t do that unless she confesses her betrayal of the palm reading. She and her sister end up leaving the estate and our hero is very confused to why she left.
I highly encourage you to read these wonderful stories of faith and redemption and of love between two completely different cultures. I loved all these stories.
Love stories of two unlikely people to fall in love because of different backgrounds.
Clean and enjoyable read.
A good Christian read.
This review is for Seeking Patience book. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.
The head of a gypsy tribe and a widowed English countess worlds collide in this unique story. I haven’t read a story like this and was captivated from page one. The two main characters are so different from each other yet so alike. Wonderful layers to the characters and to the story. Very well written. I liked the characters. I really felt the emotions of the characters. Enjoyed learning about the gypsy life which was thoroughly researched. This sweet, Christian romance will warm your heart and leave you so happy you had the experience of reading it.
Seeking Charity by Josie Riviera
Starts out with us learning about Charity and her life in the gypsy troop. The customs are so interesting to learn about.
She’s run away from her father because of what he does to her and she’s happy to have to steal to get food, if it comes to that. It’s just a fact of life, or they’d die.
Even after changing her name she rmembers a boy from her younger days and he finds her again. She thinks it’s to bring her back to her father but he’s told her other news.
You wonder if they can ever get together or just be friends the rest of their lives. Liked this book a lot but the time frame caught me off guard. Loved hearing of the colors of clothing.
Recipe for Welsh Cawl Stew, note from the author, excerpt from seeking fortune, in the series, acknowledgements, about the author, other works by the author are all highlighted at the end.
I received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.
Seeking Fortune is both a beautiful and a heart breaking romance. It is heart breaking the way the Romany were treated. All the characters are richly portrayed. Lots of history is covered but in a fascinating way. Valentina is a feisty gypsy, a fortune teller and healer, who learns to believe in God. James, a landed gentleman and Christian thinks he might have averted the tragedy in his life if he had heeded the future told to his wife. This is a wonderful story of God’s unconditional love. I was captivated!
Seeking Charity is another wonderful romance from Josie Riviera. Imagine a father so abusive that fleeing and living with gypsies was a better life. The only one Charity hated to leave was her friend Daniel. Several years later, Daniel and his sister visit friends in Wales. The gypsies are camped at this estate. Daniel is surprised to discover Charity as he had been told she died. This reunion leads to a lasting love. This is a fast paced and very engaging story. I highly recommend it.
Seeking Patience is another Josie Riviera book that kept me up way too late! A fascinating story of love, romance, rejection and forgiveness. The gypsy and the countess were both wounded souls who could save each other. This story reflects a great deal of research on the author’s part. Ms. Riviera has written a fascinating story. I was amazed at how well she resolved all points in the story. I highly recommend this book.
I liked this set of books very much. The fact that the main characters were gypsies gave it an interesting twist. I thought the author did a great job in reminding readers that the importance of acceptance in love and family knows no limits.
Love wins. Lost loves, finding love and understanding and dealing with cultural differences. Recommend!
I tried to read this series. Found the story and the writing confusing and boring.
It was an easy read, but time seemed to skip, and scenes abruptly ended.
Not for me; didn’t like
Couldn’t hold my interest
