…
This series I started from last to first. The Seekers is the first book in the series of Amish Cooking Class. Were we are introduced to Heidi Troyer an Amish young women, married but with the longing of having a child. She sets up cooking classes to busy herself. Then we meet 5 individuals that have joined her cooking classes. Along we learn Bible verses that do come in handy to even us the reader. We learn also some recipes that are lucky to have them at the end of the story. But despite all that. We learn how God’s love for us is unconditional and how putting everything in God’s hands we learn to accept and take everything that comes to us be it good, bad or/and a learning lesson.
You will meet Eli an Amish widow, Loretta a English widow with two sweet young children, Charlene a young teacher, Kendra a young unmarried mommy to be and Ron a Vietnam war veteran. Together with Heidi as their teacher not only will they learn to cook Amish traditional cooking but also learn through Bible verses left behind their cooking cards that God is always there to help and show us how to forgive others as he forgive us. You will enjoy this book. And the series is wonderful.
A nice story about an Amish woman who decides to teach a cooking class to 5 men and women. They help each other with their issues and become friends. An easy read and a page turner. The first book in the Amish Cooking Class series by Wanda Brunstetter.
As an avid reader of Amish fiction, I love this unique spin with this series by Wanda Brunstetter: a blend of Amish and English, with relatable life circumstances and sweet friendships made along the way! Heidi and Lyle are the kind of friends and neighbors we’d all be blessed to have. Just by living their faith and doing what God leads them to, they touch the lives of those around them in a positive way. As they patiently wait for God to bless them with children, their lives are impacted by those who attend Heidi’s Amish Cooking Classes. A wonderful start to a great series about community, faith, and making the best of life circumstances, this book is a great read that I highly recommend!
I liked this book. I never could put it down and I finished it in one sitting.
I would recommend this book. Great series!
I loved this book and am looking forward to reading the rest in the series.
I really enjoyed reading this book.
I enjoy reading books on the Amish faith and each one is a bit different. They face some of the same challenges the non-Amish do.
if you havent read it you should.
Beautiful
Wanda has written another wonderful story about blessing that can come from people gathering together for one purpose but using a bit of faith in helps.
Excellent author
Just average
Great recipes too
Loved it. We have a friend that lives in Walnut creek. He took us all around-and visited Sugar creek and Berlin and area and stores and restaurants. Felt like we were there again.
Learned so much about the Amish. Would like to get the next one!
loved this book… could not put it down…
This was a light, easy read. I was in the mood for something light and this hit the spot. There were enough characters to give it substance and make it interesting. I enjoyed the characters and was not expecting the ending with the man in the RV.
This is a good book. I enjoyed reading it.
