She’s the seduction expert.Women contact her to take over their love lives. She steps in when they’re lost, she’s supposed to succeed where they failed. She handles their single status, their relationships, their breakups, and very often their partners’ affairs. Her job is a life priority, she spends most of her time at the office or between two flights in business class and the fact of having a … in business class and the fact of having a sports car that can reach one hundred kilometers in less than six seconds often make her feel like a superheroine in service to women.
Anyway, take her card.
You’ll see, it’s much better than spending holidays in St Barts.

What a delicious book. I found myself totally absorbed in it. I did not want the book to end and enjoyed each part of it. Now, waiting for the part two…
I finished this one a couple weeks ago but just couldn’t put my thoughts in order to write my review. That is not normal for me, usually I have to get it down right away. This one left me in a turmoil. Did I like it or not? That is the ultimate question…Parts of it had me snorting and laughing and parts of it had me shaking my head and rolling my eyes and thinking I was not going to finish it but I powered through and glad I did. Baroness, yes that is what she goes by, is the owner of a boutique consulting firm in Paris which caters to women who need help with matchmaking or any aspect of man problems, even and especially cheating husbands. She loves to take down cheating husbands and ruin them. We are treated to all her thoughts and they are quite sarcastic and narcissistic and she even and ultimate control over her own love life. The best turn is when her fiance decides it is time to introduce her to his mother. Oh, she has met her match. Will I look into book 2? Oh, yea! This left me wanting more.
I had requested the Seduction Expert months and months ago from Netgalley and it just sat in queue. Then it was suddenly approved. So I dug into the book during my free time.
The Baroness, that’s what she likes to be called, is a seduction expert, meant for two things only. Exploiting cheaters and helping people who are looking for their match. The main character is a narcissistic condescending ^%$&^%#^. She’s the brain behind a consulting firm in Paris, where her clients are exclusive. No riff raff allowed! But this doesn’t stop her from talking about the clients she approves, she often comments on their weights and how they dress. Yes, shes a hard character to like. I wanted to jump in the book and cuss her out.
What isn’t so surprising is how she controls her own love life, using sex a tool. That’s not a old trick but when it is time for her to meet her soon-to-be husbands mother, everything explodes for her. I thought the Baroness was bad but her mother-in-law to be, Mrs. Beaumont, is a league of her own and blew her right out of the water. This is where it gets really good. Karma definitely has reared it’s pretty ugly head and it is aimed right at the one who most certainly deserves it! I enjoyed the book despite hating the main character. This is a book you’ll either love or hate.
Thank you to Netgalley, the publishing company and the author for generously providing the ARC.
The Seduction Expert by Saya Lopez Ortega is book One in The Seduction Expert Series. The Baroness is a Seduction Expert / Private Eye who is somewhat hard to like when reading her thoughts and action. But she is a strong women who pretty much knows what she wants and how to help in power women. Women want her help with men. Men do not want her to get back at them when they are caught with their hand in someone else’s ‘cookie jar’.
Overall enjoyed this book and looking forward to the next installment.
Its really worth reading book having wonderful characterization, realistic, inspirational with great word building and so on. Definitely recommended it.
This book style is so different from what I’m used to reading. The main character is a strong, independent woman on the outside, but still carries uncertainty that many wives/woman do. It’s interesting that she is untrusting in her own relationship seeing what she does so well for others. This book will have you uncertain until the very end. Hang on for a crazy ride.
Wow, this captivating black comedy is fresh and unique and so funny. The Baroness is a strong, and narcissistic character that makes you question why you are cheering for her, but doing so happily. This is so different than I expected, but I couldn’t stop reading this intriguing and clever story. I really enjoyed this first book by Saya Lopez Ortega and can’t wait to see what she does next!
A really enjoyable read, loved the characters, especially The Baroness, well worth reading.
It’s one of the worst books I ever read. I was expecting a modern female Casanova and found a cold woman teaching high society ladies how to fight against abusive men. The cover suggests an American city, but the story takes place in Paris. Not that I don’t like the French capital, I’m a pure Parisian, born there and lived there ever since. Therefore, I could pinpoint all the mistakes. Nevertheless, when I read a novel, I’m not looking for exactitude, I can overcome twists of reality; after all, it’s fiction.
Here my main concern is that I found the main character despicable. She calls herself a feminist but the boundary between feminist and men haters is not very clear. She’s egocentric, mean and disdainful. Don’t get me wrong this kind of person can be thrilling in a novel, like Miranda Priestley in The Devil Wears Prada. But here, this character has no substance and is more a cliché. People call herself the Baroness. I always imagine baroness middle-age women, not twenty-thirty something. She called herself a feminist, but she only hates men. What is even weirder is that every woman worships her, like her assistant who “ loves her unconditionally and her life is entirely devoted to her.”
Worse, the writing style is painful. I’m not a big fan of first-person, present tense. Moreover, short sentences make it harder. Sometimes I felt like reading an outline.
The original idea was good, different from the usual Romance novels with the inevitable handsome billionaire who falls for the young virgin. Here the gorgeous, wealthy man is still manipulated by a pretty gold digger.
I wish I liked the book, and I guess I’m not the target reader.
This book was different than I expected. It wasn’t my type. The main character reminds me of Miranda from The Devil Wears Prada. I was hoping the book would end different than it did. There was some funny parts but overall this was a little less than ok for me.
I had to rely on reviews written by others before picking this book. I’m so glad I did, this was such a fun read! I came back to offer my review here. This is a sweet and worthwhile read.
Really enjoyed The Seduction Expert. I loved all The Baroness and her clients.
Totally an escapism book, at least for me. The title does not describe the book at
all, I wish it was less “cutesy” Other than that, absolutely no complaints. Even though I wanted to hear how the story ended, I was sad when I finished the book.
I was so wrapped up in The Seduction Expert that I actually never wanted it to end.
At one point I was even sad that I had already read over half the book, knowing that end was fast approaching. I fell in love with The Baroness and pictured her
situations happening! That’s we call a very good author!
My review of The Seduction Expert by Saya Lopez Ortega
ARC received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own & have not been influenced in any way.
After reading the excerpt on this book & the number of very positive ratings I was expecting to really like this book … instead ( although I know it’s an ARC copy it was filled with typo’s & in a few places what seemed to be unfinished pages )
The premise of the book is interesting but I actually forced myself not to give up on it – hoping the storyline would get better.
Unfortunately for me it did not ..,
The Baroness has built her career coming to the aid of rich socialite wives dealing with their “cheating husbands” – when she herself becomes engaged to her long time love ( who she also had tailed at one point to see if he was cheating ) finds herself exposed by her fiancé family & becomes unwelcome since she doesn’t come with the proper pedigree ….
This book does not have a HEA and has an unexpected ending setting up the premise for a second book.
I would not be willing to recommend this book & what would normally have been a quick read just did not hold my interest ….
Very enjoyable – recommend if you need something light yet intriguing.
Good to take on a vacation.

Well- The Seduction Expert is not at all what I was expecting-
I feel like the title should be something more along the lines of Greed, Power, and Manipulation Expert!
* ‘Think Devil Wears Prada’ on steroids! *
Phew!
What a whirlwind!
After wrapping my noggin around the fact this story was not at all what I had anticipated, I settled myself in for a challenging; no holds barred look into the world of high society backstabbers who will do whatever it takes to keep adding more money to the family legacy while keeping it all under tight security.
While there is a ” seduction ” aspect to this whole scenario, it’s not much. The first book in what looks to be a drama-laden, twisted rise to the top of the social fem-fatal food chain, I had a hard time finding any place were the characters resonated with me. Their mannerisms and idealisms were all too much of a self-righteous combination for me to relate.
I am all for female empowerment, equality and wrongs righted (consequence wise men & women) but this was a bit much for me!
While the authors writing style was unique, and the flow and meat of the story seemed fleshed well. I don’t feel this is the book for me, and will not continue – but if you enjoy a hardcore fem “nazi.” with a taste for more of everything while taking out every evildoer male she can- then this is the book for you!
I look forward to reading more from this Author at a later date!
Thank you to Netgalley, and VSP Publishing for the Advanced readers’ copy of this book!
I am not sure if I read the same book as everyone else because I couldn’t and wouldn’t agree with all the 5,4,3 stars couldn’t. First I could not stand the h, she was ruthless and self absorbed, now I have no problem with people making cheaters pay, no problem at all since I ate cheaters and refuse to read stories with them, however I still didn’t like the h. Didn’t like how she was using her fiance and to top it all off it ends on a cliffhanger which I have no intention on reading.
Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinion

The Seduction Expert by Saya Lopez Ortega was a difficult read for me. The Baroness as she likes to be called is a conniving woman. For lack of a better term, she plays people for money. Whether it be a wife getting revenge on a cheating husband, or a girlfriend getting what she wants by pretending to be pregnant and receiving a payout. She is a con artist who enjoys humiliating men while causing women pain. I love a strong woman role just as much as the next girl but this book took it to a whole new level. The Baroness felt that she was better than everyone else, that no one was as exceptional as she.
I felt that the way this author wrote and arranged the wording was forced and abnormal. It was written in The Baroness’ point of view and I found It was hard for me to follow along.
While looking on Goodreads, many of the other reviews talk about how wonderful this book was. Which shows that each person has their own likes and dislikes. Before making a final decision or opinion, please take into account other reviews.
The Seduction Expert, written by Saya Lopez Ortega, is the first book in the highly anticipated, The Seduction Expert Series. The Seduction Expert is the first book by Ms.Ortega that I have read, and I am sorry to say that there was not much about this book that I enjoyed. The writing was awkward, choppy, and the dialogue felt forced at times. This book was promoted as a romance; I could not find anything even remotely close to love, romance, or seduction in this book. Also, I was very disappointed and felt misled by the title.
I tried to enjoy this book, but when I can find little to no redeeming qualities in the main character, I find it challenging to do so. The heroine of this story is The Baroness; a self-made woman who has pulled herself up to a prominent position in high Parisian society solely by her ingenuity. I found this to be her only commendable trait. However, I was not too fond of the methods she employed to become a successful businesswoman. I found her to be shallow, arrogant, narcissistic, and an all-around horrible person. She treats her employees like dirt under her stilettos, and she treats her clientele only slightly better than her employees. Also, another thing that bothered me was the fat shaming; it just wasn’t necessary. The author has the MC doing all this in an internal monologue that I found annoying. The Baroness only cares about the size of a person’s bank account and how much money she can get out of people. I won’t comment on the relationship she has with her fiancé, but suffice it to say she doesn’t treat him much better. The Baroness called herself a feminist over and over again, and I would wholeheartedly disagree, she just came across as a man hater.
I felt that the author did a great disservice to feminism by having this character be lacking in both personal and social integrity. Strong women do not have to degrade men and women in their lives. Strong women are uplifting and supportive of the people in their lives. I was a bit surprised by all the over the top reviews for this book and wondered if I read a different edition then all the other reviewers. Unfortunately, I can not recommend this book, and I will not be reading the second book in the series. This book was very disappointing, and I struggled to finish it.
