Eeny, meeny, miny, mo.
I’ve got a secret you don’t know.
Caiden Cavendish is under my skin. The Four have switched from being my enemies to my closest friends.
But not everything has changed. Two truths remain…my life is still in danger, and my mother is hiding something.
So many questions, and no answers.
What secrets lie buried in Alstone?
The lies, the secrets, they’ll come undone.
… answers.
What secrets lie buried in Alstone?
The lies, the secrets, they’ll come undone.
I’m the monster you can’t outrun.
Note – this book is not a standalone, and should be read after The Lies We Tell.

Ready or not The Four are back! Secrets, lies, deceit hang around every corner in Alstone. For every one thing you discover ten new mysteries arise. The Secrets We Hide was one of my most anticipated reads and Becca Steele did not disappoint.
The Four are now five and they have brought with them more mystery and suspense. Steele had me on the edge of my seat reading page after page. I couldn’t get enough of TSWH. Everything about this book sucked me in, the characters, the plot, the mystery.
Let’s talk about my man Caiden, I love him but at times wanted to reach through my kindle and beat him with a stick. He’s so consumed with his past and issues that he doesn’t see what’s in front of him. Winter is Caiden’s match in every way, even more so in TSWH. She found herself or her voice and wasn’t afraid to stick up for herself, even if it meant walking away from Cade. She knows her self worth and wasn’t willing to settle for less.
Becca Steele hooked me and then held me captive with TSWH. I could not get enough. Each page had me needing, and I could not read fast enough. Steele has mastered the art of supsense and mystery. Everytime she gave us one answer she gave us ten more questions.
This review is not going to do The Secrets We Hide any justice because I just can’t even explain how much I loved it. I’m trying not to give anything away while my mind is still spinning from this book. I loved The Lies We Tell but The Secrets We Hide was even better. As the middle book in the three books Steele delivered a lot of information that was needed but did so in a way that was flawless.
The Four are amazing characters, Winter is the kind of heroine I love times ten. The plot fantastic, the writing perfect! Becca Steele just did amazing things with this book and I can’t wait to have more.
5 mysterious stars for Becca Steele and The Secrets We Hide! I’ll be first ine line knocking on her door for book 3!
“I’d take a fucking bullet for you, baby.”
The Secrets We Hide is book 2 in the Four series, you must read The Lies We Tell to understand what is going on.
Becca Steele bought all of the angst, mystery and what the fuck moments with this book.
“No one fucks with the four, or our girls.”
If you love loyal guys then you need to meet the Four. These guys own my whole heart and I never want it back.
“I see you.”
You have Caiden, the leader. The broody alphhole with a soft heart. He loves Winter but his trust issues and past is fucking him up.
West, who is Caiden’s brother is the tech wiz and the mastermind behind a lot of the stuff that they do. Now West was my least favourite in TLWT but his alpha streak shocked the hell out of me in this book and I am here for it!
Then we have Cass. Oh Cass. This guy. He’s so messed up, I can feel it in my soul but he hides it with the best humour. He made this book for me with his shenanigans. He is the best.
And then we have my guy. My Z. The dark and mysterious one. The one you can’t figure out. You know he’s going to bring you a world of pain when you read his books but I want it all and I want it now. I will never get enough of him, or these guys.
Winter. Winter. Winter. This girl is fiercely loyal and so in love. Her relationships with the other members of the Four in this book just melted my heart. The character development was flawless and I don’t think that I can love them anymore. But with that being said there was also a couple of moments where I wanted to slap her upside the head!
This book was full of mystery and suspense and left me with more questions than answers and I love it. I’m dying to get my hands on book 3 especially after that epic cliffhanger.
Also Becca, you are in time out after you betrayed me. You know what you did! I will never get over that one moment when something was revealed and my jaw dropped and I felt like I couldn’t breathe.
Read this book. This series. The whole thing has me biting my nails, getting out a notepad to try and jot down theories and piece it altogether. It’s a true mindfuck and I want more, no I need more. Right now!!
***5 “I like you more than a lot!!!” stars***
“That’s how dishonesty and betrayal started, not in big lies but in small secrets.” -Amy Tan, The Bonesetter’s Daughter
Oh, Becca!!! You’re sooo evil!!! Who was that??? I demand answers!!! I’m dying here!!! LOL!!!
Hopefully, the next book will be released very soon and i will finally have my answers!!!!
Can’t wait!!! I have loved this series so much and I loved its characters…
These books are steamy, suspenseful, addictive and very clever!!!
It’s my wet dream come true with these FOUR!!!! Especially with Caiden and Zayde!!!
“Why did we always end up with more questions, and no answers?”
Well, this book picked up exactly from where the first book left us…
The story is the continuation of Caiden and Winter’s story!!!
Nope, no reverse harem in here!!! But all the guys are having interesting personalities and they are intriguing us very much for their own reasons…
Can’t wait for each’s turn… But first, we need one more book to finish this couple’s story!!!
And what a story it is!!!!
“We were inevitable. And no one was taking her away from me.”
Winter and the Four had a rocky start, but nowadays they have reach a mutual understanding and they are working together to uncover the truth of what had happened to Winter’s dad and for other reasons that are connecting to the boys.
The only sure thing is that they are in great danger, especially Winter, who is reckless and impulsive!!!
What secrets everyone is hiding??? What is happening in Alstone???
“Trouble seems to follow me around, ever since I came to Alstone.”
“If they’re trying to hurt you, then they’re hurting me. You guys are my family, now.”
In the previous book, we saw Winter and Caiden fighting their feelings, but they just couldn’t stay away from each other…
But at the end, something bad happened, something that brought Caiden’s trust issues to the surface and the couple, except all the above, have to find their right footing on their relationship…
God, this couple is sooo hot together… Steam was rising everytime that they were closer!!! Bahahaha… I really need them to be good and together!!!!
“Somehow, that broody man had worked his way under my skin, and I couldn’t give up on him. On us.”
“You got under my skin the first day I met you, and I never managed to escape.”
“Did you want to escape?”
“You know I did. It was like you were sent her to purposely test me, to fuck with my head.”
Well, what more can I say???
The plot is very good and it keeps you on your toes all the time!!!
The characters are memorable and sooo lovable!!!!
I love Winter and her reckless behavior.
I love Caiden and his possessive tendencies…
I love West and his sweet heart.
I love Cass with his manwhore ways and his bad jokes.
I love Zayden and his shady and moody pesonality.
I just love everything about this series. End of story.
“No one fucks with one of the Four, or our girls, and gets away with it. No one.”
***An Arc was given to me for the exchange of an honest review***
I can’t get enough of this series!! It’s so suspenseful and full of mystery! I can’t wait to read more!
This is the second book that I’ve read by this author and this is the second book in this series and Oh My, this book holds your attention and is just as captivating as the first book and this book deserves five gazillion more stars it was absolutely fantastic and you will not be disappointed, you will love it. I absolutely loved THE FOUR #2.
Book #1 The Lies We Tell
Book #2 The Secrets We Hide.
You need to defiantly need to read book one in this series first and then this book will have you on the edge of your seat. This book picks right up where book #1 left of and I loved that it did this too.
Winter and Caiden are two of my favorite characters that I’ve ever read and they have such a strong bond and they still have sizzling chemistry which is awesome and still as steamy as ever. Phew!!
Caiden is the real sexy, hot alpha male that we love and he doesn’t like to give any thing away, he likes to keep himself to himself, in this book though he lets us see a little more of himself but still leaves you wondering at the same time.
Winter is still the confident, beautiful and a strong person and she knows what she wants to do and does it and doesn’t take anyone’s crap, she never has though. I really like her and cant get enough of this character, she is very relatable too which I really like.
The Four are back and they are as strong as ever and the bond that they all have is beautiful to see. Cassius, Zayde, Weston and Caiden and the beautiful Winter they have all grown in more ways than one since the last book and you’ll really love these guys and how they have blossomed, now more than before after everything that they have and are going through together.
You do get to know everyone more and you start to love them even more while the mystery is so strong that it makes you decide to become a detective your self only to discover- questions, questions, questions are in your mind totally.
There is still secrets, lies and suspense and there are twists all over the place and the mystery is awesome and take it from me you will be biting your nails off.
These four have become very different in the fact that they are not all enemies any more and they all have become something some much more different in a good way.
(NO SPOILERS).
This author is a magician at writing her characters and this story line is so powerful, so strong and it totally hooks you in. This book, this story is written so great that you cant get enough.
I really love this author writing style and once you have picked up her books there is no way yo can put them down until you have finished, only we haven’t really finished as there is a cliffhanger and WE NEED BOOK #3 NOW PLEASE!
This book series is fastly becoming one of the best book series that I’ve ever read and I highly recommend that you read these books now.
Thank you to the author and the publishers for allowing me to read an early copy of this book.
ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
This book is expected to be released on 30th April 2020
Oh. My. Freaking. Goodness. To be quite honest, I’m not sure I exhaled again until I reached the end of this book. I’ve been anxiously waiting for this book since I finished the last one, and once I got my hands on this one, I didn’t put it down until I was done.
What I love most about this series is the mystery behind it. With every twist and turn, with every unanswered question, comes another one that gets The Four (and Winter) deeper into this crazy mystery that is just so intriguing. And then you throw in the heat factor between Caiden and Winter, and man. You’ve got one heck of a series with one heck of a cliffhanger at the end of this book. It’s the perfect combination of spice, unsolved mysteries, fantastic characters, and a plot that will capture you from beginning to end.
Thank you to the author for an advanced copy of this book. I am so, SO ready for the next installment. You are in for one heck of a ride with this book, so you better be ready. You won’t be able to stop until you reach the end.
The second book in The Four series is a wonderful journey of twists and turns, bringing answers, more questions, huge reveals, and incredible growth for all of the characters. I adore this series so much, the mystery has me completely sucked in and the relationship between the Four and Winter is so good. It’s great to see them growing closer as a found family, and as individuals they each have wonderful development in this book. Caiden and Winter especially, they’re such a power couple in this book! I was blown away by Caiden. He had my heart somersaulting! He’s sexy, swoon-worthy, and perfectly protective. That basement scene!!!! I love the dynamic between Winter and Caiden. Cassius is still so hilarious, I adore his parts in this book.
The way the answers and new information unfolds throughout the story keeps you hooked, flying through the pages. You won’t want to put this book down for a second! And that ending! Heart-pounding, world-shattering, jaw-dropping revelation!

A FABULOUS READ THAT LEFT ME WANTING MORE!!
“The Secrets We Hide” by Becca Steele is the second book in “The Four” series and it was a total fabulous read. Being one of my most anticipated reads, Becca surely didn’t fail to deliver a solid plot filled with suspense, heat and love.
Book two picks up from where it left off previously and immediately, we are thrown into the web of suspense and thrill. What happened to Winter? What did she find out? What will happen to her? Burning curiosity kept me reading the book eagerly and hungrily.
Why did we always end up with more questions, and no answers?
The plot quickly thickens with suspense as their investigations continue and more mysteries are discovered. Is Winter’s mother really guilty of what they have suspected her to be? What secrets is Alstone Holdings hiding?? So many questions and when will there be concrete answers to them? Maybe in the next book? Lol.
Not only that, the romance between Caiden and Winter also went through some ups and downs and progressed through this book. I just couldn’t stop flipping the pages until I reached the end in no time!
“Good. I want them to know you belong to me. You’re mine.”
Caiden is rising quickly on my book boyfriend rankings, especially after this bookl I see him maturing a great deal as a person and a boyfriend and I absolutely adore him for his newly found personality! Sure there are still times where he is a little arsehat early in the book, his personality definitely took a positive growth as the story goes on. The most obvious being his admission to his feelings (and blatant display of affections) for Winter and awwwww if that isn’t one of the highlights of this book for me!
“I-I think we should take a step back and re-evaluate things.”
Winter is truly one of the book heroines I adore most. With a strength which holds her to seek out the truth and a gentleness that touches people’s hearts, she is also smart, funny and brave. Despite her off-the-chart attraction and chemistry with Caiden, she is not afraid to lay out ground rules for their budding romance. Her blossoming friendships with West, Cassius, Zayde, Kinslee and Lena in this book is also heartwarming to read and a nice change of scenery among the fast-paced suspense and steamy plot.
“I’m never gonna get enough of you, you know that, right? You’re my fucking addiction, baby.”
I really like the way the author gradually builds up the romance between Caiden and Winter and she did a great job at that too. The way their feelings developed through the book is unbelievably realistic and is establishing a strong foundation of their relationship. I have no doubt they will stand strong against whatever is coming their way in the next book.
Becca’s writing is impeccable and I love how she builds up suspense while injecting humour into the story. But her greatest talent must be how she wrote the cliffhanger of this book!! My jaw just dropped at the last page of the book and I’m left with awe, frustration, anticipation all rolled into one!
The story of Caiden and Winter will continue in book three and I am most definitely looking forward to it!

I received an ARC from author for an honest review.
The Secrets We Hide by Becca Steele starts from the end of book one where we see Winter in danger and Caiden and his brothers trying to find out where she is whilst trying to figure out whether he trusts Winter 100%.
The Four (as we know them) are back and as strong as ever. Caiden (the leader), Weston (his brother and hacker), Cassius (the fun loving one) and Zayden (the dark, broody one). Each one seems to bring something to the story and also to Winter as she navigates not only her relationship with Cade which is rocky at the moment, but also with the others who she sees not only as friends but also family. Winter has also grown a little it seems from the last book in her search for the truth in regards to what happened to her family and what she is going to put up with in regards to Cade and his everlasting mood swings.
The story has a lot of suspense and questions going on as well delve more into the story as well as what role Winter’s mother plays in the whole thing. There is certainly a lot going on in this book and I would recommend that you read the first book: The Lies We Tell so that you understand what is going on. It will also help you to understand the characters more and see how they fit on the chess board!
As with the previous books, there are some steamy scenes between Cade and Winter, but there is also a development of other characters and it will be good to see if they have their own stories later on. As with book one, there is a huge cliff-hanger, but hopefully questions are going to be answered in the end.
If you like strong characters who are a bit mysterious, alphas and a heroine who knows her own mind, the this is the book for you!
ARC received for a fair, honest and sometimes long review

This book picks up right were the first book left off and I honestly couldn’t wait to read it. There is so much mystery and suspense. I could not put it down, if it weren’t for work and a horrible migraine, I probably would’ve finished this book in a day or two. It was that good! Winter and Caiden are everything!! We get to see the depth of their feelings for each other in this book. Also, just how close the Four really are and how they’ve brought Winter & even Kinsley into the fold. It’s hard not to fall in love will all of them. You will need to read this series for yourself to know exactly what I’m talking about, but when you do, you will get it! I cannot wait for the final book in Winter and Caiden’s story so all of my questions will finally have answers!!!
I’ve got a secret. Can You keep it?

What’s this book about? (I’m trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
Winter’s a girl with new friends now. Her life has changed, but there’s one fundamental thing that hasn’t. There are still secrets out there, coming to get her.
ENDS IN A CLIFFHANGER.
This is my second book by Becca Steele! The cover, the formatting and just the entire look of this series is incredible. What a thrilling ride this sequel was! Friendships were strengthened, twists lurked around every corner and secrets were accumulated (LOL word choice). Our favorite characters are in for a mystery. There’s a lot of figuring out of relationships and roles in this novel and I must say that it felt too good to be back in this universe!
Without wanting to spoil the content of the book, I must say that Winter stayed determined in book two. She was a lovely and strong lead girl. Her friendship with the boys and her bestie Kinslee were heart-warming and funny at the same time. I still ship Kinslee and Winter’s friendship so hard.
Caiden Cavendish was a snack in this novel. WAY more delicious than the snacks they serve at Cavendish in good ol’ Sheffield, that’s for sure. (apologies to the Cavendish pub). He evolved a lot and it’s visible in this novel. I loved his chemistry with Winter. Their steam was ever-present and uber hot.
Since this ends with another cliffhanger, I’m in dire need of book three news. I require answers ASAP. There are so many questions… Book three will end with a bang, I’m sure!
I recommend this story to lovers of strong heroines that handle their business, leading male snacks (Four of them actually) and a thrilling mystery.
