Eeny, meeny, miny, mo.
I’ve got a secret you don’t know.
Caiden Cavendish is under my skin. The Four have switched from being my enemies to my closest friends.
But not everything has changed. Two truths remain…my life is still in danger, and my mother is hiding something.
So many questions, and no answers.
What secrets lie buried in Alstone?
The lies, the secrets, they’ll come undone.
… answers.
What secrets lie buried in Alstone?
The lies, the secrets, they’ll come undone.
I’m the monster you can’t outrun.
Note – this book is not a standalone, and should be read after The Lies We Tell.

Love.
Love, love, LOVE.
I love this book and I love these characters and I am dying for book three! Becca Steele has created this incredible world and these amazing characters and I’m in all in with every single one of them, especially Caiden and Winter. My gosh, could these two be any better suited for one another? Watching Cade grow and open up to Winter is so amazing to watch, and seeing Winter become so ingrained in his life is beautiful.
And Cass, Weston, and Z? That’s my crew, right now. Oh! And Kins, too. All of them. The bond they all share is so strong and if anyone will be able to put together the pieces, it’ll be them.
I’m so glad I took a chance on this series and in Becca Steele. I can’t wait to see what she has planned next!
Becca Becca Becca.
Why you gotta be like that?
First – I LOVE this group. I honestly don’t know who is my favorite, but I totally had a dream with Z in it last night. #noregrets
Second – dear sweet goodness. How about them steamy scenes. Melt my panties off.
Third – ooooooo all the drama, plot twists, and all the little bread crumps sending us in circles. I honestly have no idea what is going to happen.
Fourth – that cliffy though….
I’m stopping at four because it is such a good number
For real though. This story was amazing and I absolutely adored the growth between Winter and Cade. But also between all members of four and Winter.
I can not WAIT to see where this series goes and please please PLEASE let each of the guys get their own books!!!!
This book… Becca Steele has a way of creating characters that you want more of. They are dynamic, full of confidence and flaws. I wanted answers from the cliffhanger ending of the first book and while I got a few, I was left with many more questions. The heat of this book left me wanting more, just like last time. I cant wait for the next one!!
FIVE SUSPENSE STARS for Winter and Caiden !!!
ABSOLUTELY.
LOVE.
IT.
I don’t know what to write because everything I wrote for “The Lies We Tell” goes for this book too.
I still love Becca’s writing style.
The storyline is suspense and I couldn’t put the book down.
“The Secrets We Hide” is the second book in “The Four” series. It’s dark bully, college suspense romance with a forbidden and enemies to lovers tropes.
Winter has proven in this book that she is completely loyal to the guys.
But she remains stubborn and takes risks only to discover the truth about her father’s death.
Caiden showed me a new (more vulnerable face) that made him grow in my heart.
His love for Winter knows no bounds and he has shown countless times that he is willing to do anything for her to protect her.
Winter and Caiden’s relationship is still forbidden but their bond has become even stronger after countless obstacles they’ve passed.
This book also ended up with cliffhanger and I can’t wait to find out what will happen next !
I need the next book right now!!!
If you’ve read and loved the first book from this series, you MUST TO READ this book too !
Highly recommended!!!
P.S. Cassius is still mine !!!
This book picks right where the first book left off, and its so freaking intense. Winter is broken hearted and she is desperately trying to figure out what happened to her father and she is still searching for answers . Caiden is still a mysterious, brooding alpha who can’t stop or hide his growing attraction and chemistry for Winter. Caiden doesn’t fully trust Winter yet and it has to due with her mother and not her. Winter is able to bring out Caiden’s softer side but it isn’t easy because he is so stubborn. The love that Caiden and Winter have for each other is amazing and sexy all at the same time. I can’t wait for book three in this series and hoping we get some answers as to what is really going on.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
“Beca Steele I’m officially your fan. What did I just read?! It was so unexpected, intense and so… this story had it all! Murder, kidnapping, beatings, gangsters, wealthy families and as you can guess mystery. We had some college kids playing Scooby Doo. The Secrets We Hide can’t be read as a standalone you must read The Lies We Tell because it ends on a cliffhanger and OMG what cliffhanger! Book two started right where book one ended! I don’t know about whom should I start talking… Caiden the leader, West, Cass or Z? I’ve always knew I would love more than one guy at the same time and they are the ultimate proof to that. Caiden is an alpha with the softest heart but his past is still weighting on him. West, his mind operates on an upper level. Cass, he’s a mess there’s no other way to describe him and his charisma always made me smile. Z, he has a special place in my heart with all his dark and mysterious aura. You can’t be sure what he’s thinking. Both books were amazing and out of this world. I want more. I’m so not ready to let them go specially Z. Please don’t wait one more minute and enjoy this series.”
The Secrets We Hide is Book 2 in The Four Series and is an extraordinary continuance of the series. You must read Book 1 of the series – The Lies We Tell prior to this one in order to fully understand this book as they are not Stand-Alones.
Book 1 had me hooked and I couldn’t wait to continue this story. It has everything you’d expect in a great read – angst, suspense, mystery, and those surprise moment that make you say “WTf!?”. Becca has taken billy romance to the next level with this series and I’m so excited to see what else she has in store for us with this series.
If you love a great read that will keep you guessing this is definitely a series for you!
Ever walk into a conversation you’ve heard before but needed a reminder about the story to get caught up about the deets? The Secrets We Hide has perfect continuity; you should read The Lies We Tell right before it. I didn’t and had to go back and read the last two chapters of TLWT for the refresher.
Don’t be me.
Welcome back to the topsy-turvy underbelly world of Alstone, where money and power are the only real things of worth. The Four and Winter are still trying to uncover what happened to Winter’s father and the shady goings-on that lead Winter to the docks at the end of book one. Alstone Holdings does have a rat in the house. The saying goes, ‘where there is one; there are many.’ The Secrets We Hide has them coming out of the woodwork.
There is a good deal to unpack here, and one of the most significant pieces of baggage is that while given more and more crumbs to follow in this mystery, I felt less and less like I was going somewhere. The whodunit? is expansive and growing. Rather than being narrowed down the list of suspects and players is only becoming longer. It’s book deux; I want to have at least one foot on solid ground. And I love puzzles but don’t just keep giving me more pieces than there is a puzzle.
Becca Steele does deliver on her characters, and Weston and Cassius as a team are still bonkers-wonderful. Kinslee as bestie is still better than your bestie hands down. And we finally get to know Lena, which can I saw MORE LENA, Becca. MORE LENA!!!
And also, Lena and West, wha, wha? I would read that book. I would buy that book and one for a friend–read, review that book, make her read, and review that book, and she buys that book for her friend.
And a note to authors everywhere:
Stop making your characters do dumb things for the sake of doing dumb things. Damn, it’s annoying.
Sincerely,
Ali (on behalf of fans everywhere)
Can’t wait for book three because the end of The Secrets We Hide is full circle and edge-of-your-seat. WTH, Becca Steele? Really, have you no sympathy for the weak hearts of middle-aged women? Who is that damn person? And why must you write books so damn slowly? I mean a couple of months? That suggests you work at this rather than banging it out–sarcasm all over this paragraph, peoples.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary advance copy of this book.
The Lies We Tell (The Four Book 1)
Winter is now friends with the guys from the Four but the twists and turns are mind blowing. Her mother is hiding something from her and she’s determined to find out the secret. Caiden is close with her. I can’t wait to read book 3 to get answers to all the secrets in this family.
“I see you”
It could be the insanity of quarantine but multiple times throughout this episode
I kept thinking of scooby mysteries and how the gang was always running in multiple directions. Each member had something to contribute to the overall team.
Admittedly with a lot more sex and blatant drug/ alcohol use
but whatever
Don’t hold it against the cast –
This felt more IDK? Lots of mystery and suspense to keep me on edge from the opening to the cliffhanging end. It was like each chapter presented a new clue but with each step forward we made we were taking two back.
So many questions
Nothing fit
Then it ends on a cliffy!
But!
With a major clue!
Caiden is starting to come to terms with his ghosts.
Winter is finding her own strength and acceptance
And Z … Something is up with our dark knight
UGGGHHH!!!
I need to know how this all twists together!
I know some of the who’s and I have some ideas of the whys
I don’t think everyone is who they think they are
Confusing is it not?
Where have you been my whole reading life!
The Four part two continues to keep me tied up in knots!!! Every turn of the page had me asking, what could possibly be next?
Caiden and Winter…loved them!
If I can provide my two cents, oh wait, I can, this story deserves MORE THAN FIVE STARS! I’ve TBR’d her other stories too!
I received an advanced reader copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!! I really enjoyed The Lies We Tell BUT THIS BOOK!!! THE SECRETS WE HIDE is my FAVORITE so far! I LOVE when an author can make me love the newest book more than the last. It shows not only her growth as an author but also her ability to grasp my attention even more than before.
My favorite part of this book was the tenacity in which Winter demanded what she deserved! You’ll know this part when you get to it and YOU WILL LOVE IT!!! I absolutely ADORE a powerful and strong heroine! Her courage and determination in finding out what happened to her dad, her refusal to give up no matter what’s happened to her. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT ALL!!
Caiden! HOLY SMOKES BECCA!!!! Getting to see this side of Caiden was heart-stopping! I can’t even talk about my favorite moments with this guy because SPOILER!! Hahaha! I will say this, I love how possessive he is; like no matter what’s going on or what’s happening he lays claim and it’s swoon-worthy yet panty-melting at the same time!
The suspense locked within these pages is at an all-time high. Even as some secrets are revealed; the picture it reveals is even more confusing than before for The Four & Winter! I need the next book now!
Caiden is one swoony Alpha.
Damn, can I just say I’m in awe of miss Steele! This book was fabulous. It picked up right where TLWT ended, and it was full of suspense, banter. Bonds growing and secrets and some answers, but man was this book a freaking page turner.
In TLWT we met the four and our girl Winter. I’m this book we saw not only her relationship with Caiden grow, but Winters with the four. I loved that she has a moment with each boy and you can see how much she means to them.
I loved the progress her and Caiden made. Seriously how do I get me a boy like that? Caiden see’s her and together they are all in to figure out all the secrets that are buried in Alastone and man the sex! This book was super sexy I found myself squirming in my seat.
Seriously 1-click this series today. You won’t regret it.
Their mission is to find the girl who’s currently missing and holds the key to his heart.
She got herself into this predicament, now she needs to find her way to freedom once again.
Can they find her, will she get free or is it simply too little too late?
This is a direct continuation from book one “The lies we tell”. They do need to be in order, so if you haven’t read that then I would strongly advise you do so first.
There’s a mystery underfoot and much of the book is running around looking for clues to enable them to see the bigger picture.
I loved the first book, but I felt this concentrated too much on their problems rather than character development and relationships.
In places I did feel a little lost, as I began to forget what was the initial issue as problems and puzzles mounted thick and fast.
The cliffhanger ending didnt suprise me as such, and part of me felt a little dissapointed that I’m left with so many unanswered questions, but alas I’m more than sure book three of the series will clue us in.
I’m giving this book 3.8 stars and hoping it bounces back up with the next book.
Becca Steele is doing the damn thing ! I’ve been anxiously awaiting this book since I read The Lies We Tell and I was ecstatic when I got this arc ! It takes off pretty much where it left off and boy oh boy does it not miss a beat ! Sexy , suspenseful, angsty and oooh the scorching sex in this book will definitely set your kindle on fire ! Caiden and Winter’s chemistry is off the charts and they both are tired of fighting there feelings . Winter is bringing out Caiden’s possessive, protective side and is having him confront his trust issues and Caiden has Winter feeling all kinds of emotions that she’s not used too and she is realizing that she just might be in love with him . That ending… I knew it was coming but I just wasn’t prepared for it and damn it I now will have to patiently wait for the next book , but it’s so worth it ! Definite 5 stars from me and a definite must read!!
*** I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book ***
Let me first say that I been waiting for a while to continue reading this amazing story. This book was everything I was expecting and so much more . YOU WRECKED ME Becca Steele!!!
This book picks up right after the shocking events of the ending of TLWT (book #1). The mysteries, the lies and the OH SO SEXY scenes are in full force in this book.
The Four are sexier than ever and Winter is stronger and more determined to take risks and find the truth. The connection that they all have is so good, makes me wish to be part of their team.
This series is most definitely one of the best I ever read and the plot and the characters are insanely AMAZING!!!!
There are still so many secrets that need to be unfold, and the ending of this book left me screaming wanting for more. So tick tock Becca , we need book #3 NOW!!!
#the4arecoming4U
This is the second book in The Four series, and continuation of Caiden, and Winter’s story. Winter, having finally been accepted, by The Four, continues to look for answers, and unwind the web of secrets, and lies. This was another great read, well written, and the characters had explosive chemistry. This was steamy, emotional, raw, gritty, intense, twisted, mysterious, suspenseful, and dramatic. I highly recommend this series, and look forward to the next book.
Yessss Caiden!!! I swear I love this character. I loved how Becca wrote his character in this book. Caiden and Winter in this book is seriously couple goals. I love how how they fight for each other. The Secrets We Hide is mysterious, full of secrets and lies and it had me saying WTH a few times. I’m so invested in this story I just want answers! The Four are an amazing crew who are loyal and I love how they took Winter and Kins into their foursome. This series is truly one of a kind and I’m so anxiously awaiting for the next book to come!! Everyone must read this series!!
Becca is taking Bully Romance to a new level, and I LOVE IT!!
Heart-Pounding! Kindle Melting! Angst Filled Goodness!! MYSTERY and SEXY SUSPENSE!! Yes!!! I WANT MORE!!

I want to smacked Caiden’s head! Seriously Man! You Idiot!
I know. I know. I know. It’s all for Snowflake.
But Snowflake can handle herself… can she?
Oh my goodness! This book is such a page turner and as you read along you’ll find yourself engrossed, captivated, fascinated and seduced how Caiden pull Winter to him. He drives me mad and what more Winter feels.
