Easily one of my favorite books! What a story!!!! You will enjoy every minute of this book. I was so sad when it ended. I loved how it went back and forth from past to present tense. This author is an incredible researcher and i enjoyed learning about the romanov family
Good story! Enjoyed!
I loved the history, the characters and I could relate to the modern day location in upstate New York. I was completely entertained and found the story a page- turner.
Wonderful book! I could not put it down!
It was based on real characters with an imaged ending. I enjoyed reading it
A true to life book, he was a very selfish man
Slow-moving in parts, but interesting. I found the jumping from current day to historical portion of the storyline to be annoying.
Good read with a semi-predictable ending.
A love that lasted.
I liked the history (bent a bit for interest) and the connection from 1917 to 2016. Good read.
Excellent!
Interesting historical fiction
Loved the historical aspects to this story. I found it wonderful, albeit, a bit drawn out for my taste. Great story.
Enjoyed this book so much I’m wanting to read more by this author
This book was much more moving then I even expected. It had unexpected twists and turns, but all were in the right directions to make the book one to remember.
Interesting twist on historical facts. It’s imaginative to look at what might have happened…if…..
A great love story.
Great historical fiction.
I’m not a history buff, so I found this book a little difficult to read. The Bolsheviks, the Red Army, the revolution, etc all overtook the story and I got bored with it. But in hindsight, this royal family, and the wars & suffering really took placed I learned things I never knew. I mostly enjoyed reading about how the granddaughter came to learn about her own family history. So yes, I recommend this book if you enjoy reading about history.
Historically interesting read
