From USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn comes a deliciously delightful romantic comedy centered in New York City about falling in love with your best friend’s sister. How do you date your best friend’s sister? Easy. Step one: Pretend you want her to set you up with someone else. That will bring the two of you closer.Step two: Go on date with lots of random women, proceed to get stupid drunk … women, proceed to get stupid drunk and talk about your best friend’s sister, thus gaining the courage to finally make a move.
Step three: Randomly show up at her apartment and confess your love. Women love that, right?
It all seemed so simple. A fool-proof three step process that will guarantee the love of you life to fall madly in love with you.
At least–that’s what I thought was going to happen. But my attempts to win over Julia Westin backfired in more ways than I can count. The thing about Julia? She’s smart–really smart–and her wicked gaze cuts through all the charm I’ve tried slinging her way. She’s not interested in games, my gifts, or my stories. She might want me too; but she’s not giving in that easy…

My second book from Meghan Quinn was a really good one! I can’t wait to read more from her!! Bram and Julia’s book is so good! The story made me laugh, swoon and gave me all the feels!
Bram had a crush on Julia, his best friend’s sister, since he first met her. Her nerdy style and intelligence drew him in and intrigued him. Now, 10 years later, he lost a bet in order to get closer to her. The whole interview progress between the two of them was hilarious and sizzling hot. The sexual innuendos he throws her way makes her flustered and sexually frustrated.
Julia saw Bram only as her brother’s best friend. Being the nerdy girl she is, she couldn’t fandom that a man like Bram would have feelings for her. While interviewing him for her dating program, she’s getting to know the real him and she likes him a lot. However, she holds herself back and doesn’t let herself truly feel for him!
All the things he did to make her give him a chance and agree to a date with him were so romantic! Bram is such a cutie about all things considering their relationship. He truly loves her and he’s determined to do everything for her!
This is such a beautiful story and I truly enjoyed it!!
Meghan Quinn knows how to right adorably fun and quirky books, and this one is no exception!
Bram is a self-made millionaire, a playboy, and incredibly charming. He’s also had a crush on his best friends sister for the past 10 years. He’s waited for the perfect time to make his move, and finally has the opportunity he’s been waiting for. But winning her over might not be as easy as he thinks.
Julia Westin is sweet, focused and extremely smart. She doesn’t do anything without thinking it through, and her career is her life. When Bram convinces her to let him into her program she knows it won’t be easy, but she has no idea what she’s getting herself into.
I loved these characters! Bram is confident, cocky, and oh so sweet. He’s protective and fights for what he wants, and he’s everything I look for in a book boyfriend. Julia is the heroine I’ve been looking for. She’s down to earth, insecure and doesn’t realize her own beauty. These characters are flawed and embrace their imperfections, and their relationship progressed at the perfect pace.
I couldn’t keep the smile off my face while reading this book! It was such a fun and light read, and I highly recommend it!
This was a really fun twist in a classic trope!
Bram and Julia have known each other since they were both students at Yale – he a senior and fraternity brother to her older brother and she a sophomore.
I really enjoyed the fact that the highly successful and self made Bram was the one who had been nursing an unrequited crush on the slightly nerdy Julia for nearly 10 years. What made things even more fun was the fact that his fear or rejection led him to some pretty drastic measures to try and get her attention.
This was well written with a small, but very entertaining cast (both primary and secondary). There are lots of romantic moments, both big and small, sexy time, humor, friendship, and low angst. These were characters that were incredibly easy to like and root for. As I got to know everyone, I really wanted to see things work out for them and would love to see stories about secondary characters in the future.
The Secret to Dating Your Best Friend’s Sister is just the romantic comedy that the doctor has ordered. It’s smart. It’s funny. It’s well written and will have you laughing your butt off. This story hits all the marks and leave you in stitches from laughing so much!
The Secret to Dating Your Best Friend’s Sister is a total fun read. Bram & Julia couldn’t have been more opposite if they tried. While Bram may have grown up since his college frat days, he’s still a frat boy at heart. You can take the boy out of the frat, but you can’t take the frat out of the boy. He’s never been serious about girls, but that’s because the one he’s always wanted doesn’t look at him that way….That is until one lost bet throws these two opposites together. Bram has a plan to win the girl and will stop at nothing to win over Julia.
Julia and Bram were a lot of fun together. I loved their chemistry and the ease of how they were together. I loved their banter and I loved how despite Julia’s shyness, she dished it out just as good as she got it. And while Bram might seem like he’s still a frat boy player, there is so much more to him than meets the eye. I loved seeing the sweeter side of him. The side that will do anything to win over the forever girl and won’t stop until he gets what he wants. Together these two really shouldn’t have worked, but somehow they just made it work. Once Julia could look past what she thought she knew of Bram, all bets were off.
The Secret to Dating Your Best Friend’s Sister was a terrific romantic comedy. It was an easy and fun read. I loved spending my day getting to know Julia & Bram. Their story was sweet with just the right amount of funny. Add in some serious swoon and steamy good times and you’ve got yourself a truly entertaining read.
I’ll start this review saying that this book is awesome. But probably you got that from the rating I gave it. Now I’ll tell you why is so awesome. First of all, the characters. Bram and Julia are lovable and smart, but also ridiculously funny. Bram’s friends are pretty cool too. As a matter of fact, one of them has McCool as a last name, lol. The story starts with Bram’s POV and quickly you realize he’s not like any other male character you’ve read before. Yes, he’s a young millionaire, cocky and swears like a sailor, but he has this sparkling personality and sense of humor that makes it hard not to like him. Bram knows how to be a friend, but also knows what he want and plans to get it. Probably his plans sound and look better in his head, but that’s the hilarious part of the story… see him working hard to get the girl. After losing a bet with his friends.
Enter Julia Westin, a smart, successful and beautiful woman who developed a dating app. She’s Bram’s best friend’s sister, but also the key to Bram paying his debt. Although Bram’s debt isn’t with his friends but with himself. He’s been in love with Julia since the first time he lay eyes on her. Now they aren’t the same kids who met in college. They both are adults… and Bram thinks is about time to get that show on the road.
Beside the characters, one of the things I loved the most about this book is how the author managed the humor around male friendships and “the rite of courtship” between Bram and Julia. The quirks of each character made this part pretty funny and special.
My favorite parts: The bromance between Bram and his friends, how he lay his feelings through the whole book and how decided he was to succeed in his pursuit of love. Linus. And the date with dragon lady, lol.
My less favorite parts: Julia’s blindness. I can’t believe how unaware she was of Bram’s attention. FOR 10 YEARS!! But dude, that’s life for you.
Anyway… TSTDYBFS (because the title is so fucking long) is a romcom highly recommended. I know you will enjoy it so, go and grab your copy.
A goofy-smile, make you feel good type of book.
The Secret to Dating Your Best Friend’s Sister is the first book of 2019 for the adorable Meghan Quinn, and she does not disappoint. It has sweetness, it has laughs, and it will make you remember why you love her writing in the first place. Bram thinks he has the perfect plan to win over his Best Friend’s sister- Julia. She however, sees right through him, although it’s difficult to get past the sexy… The banter is spot-on, the chemistry is off the charts, and the story makes you have this perma-grin on your face. I adored this book, and can’t wait to see what else this year brings for Meghan Quinn!
5 STAR Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review
I can’t say enough amazing things about this book. I loved Bram and the man he was. While parts of him came across as a jerk, he had so many redeeming qualities. I think the thing I loved most is that he was just a good guy, who was honest about what he wanted. He might not have gone about things in an honest way, but it all worked out in the end. I loved Julia. She’s so smart. It’s great to see the smart girl get the guy! I loved her intelligence. I loved that she wanted to help others find love, while sacrificing her own love life.
I loved this book. I can’t wait to see what’s to come. Please check out this awesome story by Meghan Quinn!
Oh my goodness. I love books that make me laugh out loud and that’s exactly what I was doing a majority of the time. I think I made my cat jealous, or the evil eye could of been a result of my cackling waking her up from a nap. The reason I am pointing this out is because I literally laid in bed all day reading. The dialogue was so much fun to read.
Also, I am going to Weird Science my own Bram because I am in love with his personality and need my own.
Bram and Jules will have you in stitches and swooning in utter delight as the matchmaker matchmaker make themselves a match! Bram is cocky, charming, and kinda screwed. What else would you call it when you love/lust over your besties little sis for 10 years? Jules is smart and beautiful and everything he could want, but he made a pillbox of himself once and firmly has landed himself as just her brothers friend in her eyes. Now he’s going to use this bet to finally win her, no matter the cost. Jules isn’t sure what game Bram is playing, but she is willing to torture him to find out. This push pull they have is going to be the death of her, she just knows it, and regardless of her title as Dr Love – she’s not really as savvy as all that. Handling Bram is going to take bring out the big guns.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book
So, what is the secret to dating your best friends sister? Bram discovered four main elements:- transitioning from friend to your life’s mate, respect, knowing each other’s true worth, and oddly enough – Tube Socks! There is more to it, but that’s for you to explore when reading this great rom-rom.
There is a difference between confidence and cockiness and Bram Scott is a little of both. He is arrogant but so lovable. Cupid strikes her arrow, hits him fair square on the butt with a zinger and he is now infatuated with one person, Julia ANN Westin. The problem being, she is his best friends sister and he has no idea if she feels the same. So he sets about being a client in her dating business to win her over.
This was a fun book to read with adorable characters. Julia was a little pedantic about different personalities and somewhat stubborn but that’s what makes her brilliant at her job. Bram was a self made real estate bigwig that was ready to settle down, and needed to find the right time to share this revelation with his intended. Fans of Meghan Quinn are sure to love this book.
4 Stars
Great story!
Bram has liked Julia since he met her in college the only issue, she is his best friends’ little sister, but he can’t help but to try and get her to go out with him. When she turns him down he is disappointed but still determined.
Fast forward a few years and Bram owns a successful real estate business and has plans to get close to Julia yet again all he has to do is lose a bet.
Julia has always found Bram attractive, but she never thought he would go for a girl like her. When he comes to her telling her he wants to settle down and wanting the help of her and her dating agency she is confused but agrees.
Things don’t always go as Bram has planned but he slowly gets closer to Julia. But what will happen when she finds out Bram’s dating hue and decides to test herself and finds they are not a match?
Meghan Quinn has once again restored my love of reading. The queen of romantic comedies nails my first book of 2019 with a heartfelt, swoon city romance of falling head over heels for your best friend’s sister. I have so much love for this book!!!
Bram and Julia are match made in colorful heaven. OMG the way their love story is written is divine. From their initial friendship in college to their real lives in NYC, their relationship comes full circle. There’s nothing better than reading a charming, passionate, somewhat cocky gentleman woo his girl. Really earn her affection and profess his adoration to her. Bram is incredibly sexy, smart and funny while earning his way into Julia’s heart. While Julia is smart and analytical, she can listen to her heart and know it beats only for Bram. Gosh I’m swooning all over again.
I FREAKIN LOVE THIS BOOK!!! Meghan Quinn, I bow down to your love stories. They fill my heart completely, I want to start all over again and experience it for the first time. 2019 is starting with a rom com bang peeps! I can’t wait for more!!
Do you know that feeling when you start a new book from one of your fav authors and you are only about 8% into it and you realize that is book is going to be amaze balls???? Yup, that’s exactly what I felt at 8%!
Ms. Quinn is the Queen of Rom-Com’s for me and she nailed it with this book! Bram and Julia are one of my number one book couples!!!! For me (being a nerd), TSTDYBFS spoke to my heart and my nerdy side! I think I’m going to go back and read it again, because, yeah….it was that AMAZING!!!!!
I have just added a new BBF to my harem….Bram Scott has taken the coveted spot at the very top!!!
Is there anything better than a book that can make you laugh one minute and swoon with the sexiness the next? This is what Meghan Quinn has accomplished with this book. 5 sexy, laugh out loud stars
This book gave me all of the feelings and I absolutely loved it!
Bram and Jules’ story was hilarious, swoon worthy, sexy as hell and sooo damn sweet I almost couldn’t handle it. These characters were so complex and real that I felt like I could totally be friends with them in real life. Their story took me on a rollercoaster and I honestly didn’t know how it was going to end. It was soo good that I already want to go back and read it again.
I would love to read more about the other two guys in the trio sometime soon! Hint, Hint Meghan Quinn!!!!
When I read the synopsis for this I was instantly intrigued and looking forward to starting this beauty and Meghan Quinn didn’t disappoint me.
I how I loved Bram! He’s seriously hot, sexy with a cocky swagger that will melt your panties. There is more to him then what you see. Despite being a successfully businessman he has such a sweet, protective and caring side. I really loved his bromance/friendships with his friends Rath and Roarke and I am seriously hoping they get their own books……hint hint
Julia is Rath’s sister and has always been protected by her brother and his friends. Bram has been enamoured with her since he met her and has been waiting patiently for her to fulfil her dream of opening her own match making company. She turned Bram down in college but he’s been biding his time to win her over and now he is going all out to romance her.
“He’s wanted to be with me for ten years. Who does that?”
“someone who loves you unconditionally.”
The banter and relationship between Julia and Bram is amusing and hot to watch play out. Julia is the complete opposite of Bram, she’s analytical and relies on her data. She just needs to open her eyes and heart about what is before her.
Holy mother of entertaining books and different uniquely named characters!!
This book was without a doubt the most enjoyable fun read with seriously funny banter, sizzling chemistry, amazing heartwarming characters and a story I just wanted to live in!!
I loved everything about this book! EVERYTHING!!! EVERYONE!! ALL THE THINGS!! ALL THE FEELS!!
I kept on reading and I just didn’t want it to end! Ahhh the text messages got me snot laughing alot too!! So entertaining!
There is definitely something to be said when the Bram puts his heart on the line, I especially loved his bromance with his best friends!! Seriously a hoot they were!
I could read about all the characters forever thats how much I enjoyed this story! So much so I would have loved to have had them as friends, but alas they aren’t real, insert sad face….,also the steamy moments were just that..oh boy!!!!
A brilliant storyline from an author who writes very entertaining books!
I loved, loved, loved this book. Bram and Julia are the most amazing characters. Meghan has this way of making these incredible, likable characters.
What does one do, when you are in love with your best friends sister? You go the most roundabout way, to getting her attention and into your arms. Bram was hilarious but also very sweet, and let’s not forget hot. The steaminess of this book is on another level. I probably say this every time I read one of Meghan’s books but man! It just keeps getting better and better. I wish Netflix would have these books on their radar and make incredible movies. So I can laugh and cry on the couch, again.
This was such a sweet, romantic and insanely hot story with these two. It wasn’t over the top or overly angsty. You felt the bond, the connection that these two had. Even from the very beginning. I always love that, no matter my mood that day. I can read one of her stories, get lost and be in a good mood at the end.
Overall, Of course, Five Boundless Stars
I haven’t read too many books by Quinn but I’m finding myself wanting to read the full catalog! I really fell for the characters and the storyline. Yes, its friends to lovers. Yes, there are so many books out there like this. But this one is worth the one-click. It’s engaging. It’s different. It’s creative. I couldn’t put it down and it left me wanting so much more.
The Secret to Dating Your Best Friend’s Sister is a standalone rom-com. Bram Scott had his eyes already set on Julia Westin, his best friend Rath’s sister. Bram lost the yearly bet on purpose just because he knew what the loser got. The loser has to use Julia’s service (she owns a dating agency).
I love Bram Scott he is so RED with thoughtful and sweet undertones or is he? Is Julia Westin that daft? How many ways can he show his interest? I mean, really a man that likes tube socks!
“The first day I met you, you wore tube socks, and ever since then they’ve been a huge turn-on for me.” He winks suggestively. “Consider it lingerie in my book. Keep those feet warm and those legs sexy. Have a good day, Jules.”
I loved reading The Secret to Dating Your Best Friend’s Sister! I love the banter that Meghan Quinn writes for her characters. I would love to crawl into Meghan’s mind to see how she thinks. Okay that was a little creepy. I love reading her books and I can’t wait to read the next one after I have just finished the last one! Another 5+ stars for me! This book is a MUST read for those that love reading a romance book with a sense of humor.
