From USA Today bestselling author Meghan Quinn comes a deliciously delightful romantic comedy centered in New York City about falling in love with your best friend’s sister. How do you date your best friend’s sister? Easy. Step one: Pretend you want her to set you up with someone else. That will bring the two of you closer.Step two: Go on date with lots of random women, proceed to get stupid drunk … women, proceed to get stupid drunk and talk about your best friend’s sister, thus gaining the courage to finally make a move.
Step three: Randomly show up at her apartment and confess your love. Women love that, right?
It all seemed so simple. A fool-proof three step process that will guarantee the love of you life to fall madly in love with you.
At least–that’s what I thought was going to happen. But my attempts to win over Julia Westin backfired in more ways than I can count. The thing about Julia? She’s smart–really smart–and her wicked gaze cuts through all the charm I’ve tried slinging her way. She’s not interested in games, my gifts, or my stories. She might want me too; but she’s not giving in that easy…

Meghan Quinn is one of my go to must reads authors! Once again she proved to me to be the queen of the rom-com! This book had me laughing so much! You will definitely add Bram to your book boyfriend list, he definitely was added to mine!
Bram and Julia are very intelligent and successful business owners. Julia happens to be Bram’s Best Friend’s Sister.
You get the best friend’s sister along with nerd vs prep all wrapped in one.
The way these two act with eachother as well as Julia’s brother Rath and Bram’s other friend Roark makes this so much fun. All of their personalities are addictive. Add in Bram and Rath’s Bromance, this creates a very entertaining adventure. LOL
Soon after starting this book I am laughing out loud, Meghan Quinn is amazing with her sense of humor.
You get to see the POV for both characters which help you understand them and keeps tension going.
Memories come up then flashback chapters to see the history between the two. This was overall well put together with the flow and storyline.
This can be a stand alone which I highly recommend and ready to read Roark’s story next because I love these guys!
Bram has been crushing on his best friend’s little sister, Julia, for 10 years. Now that they are both out of college and have established themselves in their careers he is ready to go after what he wants – Julia. He decides the way to do that is to become a client of her match-making services in the hopes that they can spend time together and she will see that she wants him too.
This book had me in tears. Bram and his friends, Roark and Rath, are hilarious. I could not stop laughing throughout this book. It was exactly what I needed. But at the same time you fall in love with Bram. All that he does to make Julia realize that he has been in love with her for years? Ugh such a good man. We need more of him in the world. And then there is Julia she is so awkward and insecure that she can’t see how Bram could actually fall for her – the little sister. I loved their banter and adored how they were together. Just couldn’t get enough of these two. MQ is always good for a laugh and swoony men and she didn’t disappoint here. Highly recommend Bram and Julia.
I loved Bram and Julia. I also loved Bram’s relationship with Rath. I really liked how Bram was willing to wait for Julia and his protective nature toward her. I really appreciated their shared history and how they were able to build in that. The heat level is smoking hot and the tenderness is really sweet. I read this series backwards, but it did not take way form any of the stories to do so. I highly recommend.
Meghan Quinn writes the books that I love to read. Plain and simple. This the fifth book that I have read by her and she hasn’t steered me wrong yet. If anything, it just gets better and better with every book I read. So it’s a totally normal thing to be sitting here with my heart racing and my mind buzzing over another impressive book by Meghan Quinn. Yep, that’s the norm.
The first noticeable thing about Quinn’s books is how polished her writing is. I am always dazzled by how smooth and vibrant her writing is. She has a writing voice that you can’t help but gravitate towards. I am always thrilled to start one of her books because I always know before I even begin that I will be impressed.
I love the way that Quinn writes characters. I am always in awe over them. They are always fleshed out and interesting. I always feel connected to the characters in her books. It’s like her characters become a part of you while you read about them. And they are always memorable so you still feel them long after you’ve finished reading. My thoughts often circle back to the characters in her books that I have read. These characters put a smile on my face. There was excellent character building and development.
I really enjoyed the romance in this book. It was a slow-burn style romance that drew heavily on past experiences with the main couple. I really liked the flashback scenes to when they were both in college. They shared so many important moments and the author shares those with the reader. The main characters had a strong connection and their chemistry was undeniable. I loved their journey.
Meghan Quinn always creates wonderful plots and this book was no different. Everything flows beautifully and falls into place like magic. This is a story that you will have trouble putting aside to do real-world adulting. It’s very engaging and keeps the reader wanting more.
Overall, this was another fabulous read from Meghan Quinn. I think that I have said this in another one of my reviews for her books but I will hands down read anything this woman writes. She has mesmerized me with her witty writing and lovable characters. I am so glad to have discovered her books. I can’t wait to delve more into her backlist titles and I can’t wait for what is to come next!
Bram is hilarious. I love his humor and his sweet side!
Julia is also funny once she relaxes and not 100% focused on work. Their banter together made me laugh out loud more than once.
Great story and I loved the build up to them getting together. Made me anxious and ready for more.
I love Meghan Quinn’s writing. Bram and Julia’s story is sweet, fun, and sexy. Julia (Jules) is so stubborn! Bram is handsome, protective, loving, and caring with Julia. I love the ending. Tor Thom and Charley Ongel did an amazing job with the narration. I love their voices together.
The Secret to Dating Your Best Friend’s Sister
By: Meghan Quinn
Narrated by: Charley Ongel, Tor Thom
Just when you need it, Meghan Quinn comes through with a feel good, funny story that you just cannot stop listening to! Slightly taboo, though it never felt like it, we meet Bram who is determined to finally go after the woman of his dreams, his best friend Rath’s sister. Now Bram and Julia have known each other a long time, and while she has seen him young and immature, Bram is sure he can win her over now. And the best way to do that is to become a client of her dating service. Then our fun begins. Talk about chemistry. From their first meeting. Quinn has developed their aura so well, it’s impossible to miss. Bram is not only wealthy and good looking, but his charm and humor is so easy to be attracted to, I couldn’t imagine any woman passing him by! Julia(or Jules as he so loved to call her) is a little more up tight. I can totally relate to that, wanting to know what is happening, where life is going, are they in it for life. I loved their banter, had me smiling and at times laughing out loud. This is one you will love as you take their journey to finding their happily ever after.
Narrated by the talented team of Tor Thom and Charley Ongel, we can feel the chemistry immediately! Thom as the devilish Bram adds the love and humor to the story with his warm voices. Ongel finds the perfect balance of straight and narrow along with the extremely passionate for Jules. I found this to be the perfect escape from my day and enjoyed every minute.

I’m in a turmoil because for the first time (not literally the first time but more like, the first time in a while), I may have liked the hero more than I did the heroine. Bram is indeed this bigger-than-life persona, but not the obnoxious too sunshine-y kind for me. He’s just this really funny and chill dude. While he may have been the usual college fratboy before (and not the distasteful kind but more like a simple guy who just has a huge room for maturity), he has grown up to be this lowkey romantic guy with a generous and patient heart. Have I mentioned that he’s funny too? Ack, I actually love the trio of bro-mances among Bram, Rath and Roark. They made the whole thing even lighter and just so freaking full of life.
Now, with that said…I didn’t mean to undermine the heroine. On one hand, I want to be the author’s cheerleader for writing about women like Julia. She’s flawed, alright. She’s not the sweetest nor the easiest to connect to. I mean, she may not be high-maintenance in a worldly way. But approaching her, communicating with her or simple understanding how she’s wired…those things take unlimited amount of patience…and love. And time and effort.
Now, on another hand, to see and to hope that difficult ‘women’ can get chances at romcom with men like Bram? /blows my mind…and maybe my heart
So yeah, my sister probably wanted to duct-tape me because I was giggling by myself in the middle of the night but I am telling you all this: to hope that an amazing guy would not run out of patience for you and your own quirks and eccentricities…that’s some dangerous stuff right there
4.5 stars
I have to admit…..this story started a little slower than I had expected it to. And then bam!! Everything started clicking together and I couldn’t put the story down! It was absolutely hilarious and I kept cracking up (end of Chapter 14…..you’ll understand when you read it). Bram was just a delightful surprise throughout the story, as the things he did in order to try and gain Julia’s affection……ahh, so swoony! And Julia – whoa girl! Bram totally brought out another side to the lovable tube sock wearing girl that I never saw coming.
And I can’t end this without mentioning Rath. I need more of him (ok….Roark too)…..as the bromance between he and Bram.…….it is unlike any other bromance I have ever seen.
** spoiler alert ** 3.5. I rounded up, but there was one point I considered DNF. I read the synopsis and loved the premise. I really did love Bram and Julia as well, but at one point I was ready to throw in the towel. At first I was cracking up, there were laugh out loud moments, for sure. The issue I had was that Bram of course, was a manwhore. Here he was, in love with a woman (crushing on but knew she was the “one for him”) and out banging HUNDREDS of women waiting for her to be ready for their relationship. Legit hundreds. How do I know? Cause he told her when she was interviewing him for her dating program. Hundreds dude? Ewewwwe. And Julia, Julia is this timid girl who hasn’t has sex in two years and here he is talking about all the sexual stuff he does. This was in an attempt to turn her on, and I guess it worked but I’m sorry, if it were me I would be like.. well, nope. While I understand his reasoning for waiting (maybe not 10 frigging years but whatever) I guess I’m just a super naive prude that I wouldn’t want my partner to have had “hundreds” of one night stands. I would want him to get tested before I even touched him. Alas, it is a book so I continued. I truly did feel the love that Bram had for Julia and it what kept me going till the end. The book was well written and it did keep me laughing so that is why I rounded up to 4 stars, but it would have gotten higher marks from me if Julia wasn’t so turned on by the fact that he was so “experienced”. To me it was a guy who was just banging all these chicks waiting for his “true love” to realize he was the one, but please stop banging HUNDREDS of women and just tell the girl how you feel. Cause I feel like in reality, she would appreciate that more in the long run.
Nobody can beat this author when it comes to light-hearted romantic comedies. This is a laugh-out-loud tale featuring two people who knew each other way back in college and are so into each other but were totally clueless of the other’s feelings.
Bram is Rath’s best friend since their frat days in university. He is a successful real estate magnate and a hard worker and my initial impression of him was an easy-going guy who always looks for a good time. Reading further into the book, the author gives us a deeper insight into his character: he is goal orientated, sensitive and his bromance with Rath is so adorable. The words that come out of his mouth will constantly make you burst out in laughter.
Because he’s so sweet, I press one more kiss across his lips, light and soft, and then I take the flowers he’s holding. “Are these for me?”
He shakes his head. “Your neighbors. I wanted to butter them up so when I get the chance to finally be with you, they don’t complain to your landlord about the moaning coming from your apartment.”
Jules is Rath’s younger sister who went to the same university she was not only under the protection of Rath but also of Bram’s. She was the nerdy student who wore tube socks to ward off guys because according to her brother, all these guys want from her are sex. Fast forward to ten years and she has now blossomed into a successful businesswoman with an impeccable dress sense, no more tube socks, yay!
Written in dual points of view, this entertaining romcom is even made more delightful when the author also introduces some equally funny and very interesting secondary characters. There are no bitchy exes involved nor tragic events, this is a total giggle fest with a lot of sexy scenes and the perfect book boyfriend who is funny, romantic, sexy and rich. What more could you ask for? This is one book that will cure your hangover during the holiday season or if you are in a book funk. Special request to the author: could we have Roark’s and Rath’s stories too, pretty please? (Reviewed on behalf of KindleFriendsForever)
I loved it, mainly for the bromance between Rath and Bram.
Cute story about Bram, who’s been in love with his best friends little sister, Julia.
I don’t want to give the story line away, I feel it’s best to read it and experience it yourself! I enjoyed the story, and what Bram went through, I’m sure you will enjoy it too!! Grab it asap!!! 4 1/2 stars for this one!!
Meghan Quinn is one of my one-click authors because of her rom-com. She has a way to deliver a light and funny story and at the same time give you the right amount of angst and feel to make the story more complex and meaningful. After several heavier releases in 2018, I’m so looking forward to The Secret to Dating your Best Friend’s Sister . Filled with laughs, heartbreaks, and feels good love, this book is another perfect addition to her rom-com collection.
It was so much fun watching Bram and Julia slowly come together. The chemistry between them were palpable and they were a perfect match to each other. Bram was so sweet and romantic. The lengths that he went through to win Julia’s love made him so lovable and swoon worthy. I was frustrated with Julia’s stubbornness. Thankfully she finally see what was right in front of her the whole time.
I loved the bromance between Bram, Rath and Roarke. Their conversations and teasing were hilarious and I was laughing so hard. They were all successful and ruthless businessmen, but they all turned into some silly frat boys when they gathered. However, they do have their serious moments when wisdom and advice were needed by each other. I am so looking forward to meeting the guys again in future books.
I’m totally in love with this sweet and humorous story. If you are looking for a light and heartwarming romance this will be a perfect match.
I received an advance reviewer copy of the book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I can always rely on Meghan Quinn to provide a humorous story with terrific characters and some great feels.
Bram’s determination that Julia is his one, (and his obsession with milkshakes and tube socks) and Julia’s willingness to let her walls down and really see Bram (and her tolerance of his shenanigans!) make for another great romance!

This was such a fun, enjoyable romantic read. Bram Scott is such a lovable hero in this book. He knows what he wants (Julia) and he goes about getting it any way he can. The fun in this book is that Julia isn’t your average heroine waiting to be swept off her feet, which throws a wrench in Bram’s plans. Julia is a smart and successful business woman and if Bram wants her, he has to change. What worked for other women does not work for Julia. And what about when Bram’s best friend and Julia’s brother find out about Bram’s intentions??
I loved this book so much and can’t wait to read it again!
I was generously provided an ARC in exchange for a review.
I loved this book!! It’s been a long time since a book made me laugh out loud in so many places.
Meghan Quinn never disappoints with whatever story she writes and this one was spectacular! This is the Meghan Quinn that I first started reading and I am so excited that we got some of that in this story! I just loved the humor in this book. I found myself laughing out loud so many times! I loved these characters! I felt a connection with them and they felt like real people and that is how a reader should feel. The story was so fun to read! I loved the entire set up with the dates. It made it so entertaining to read. My only complaint is that there was all the build up and anticipation for the characters to get together and once they do, which was fairly early compared to other stories, there wasn’t as much to get excited about. The author did add some dramatics in there but it just didn’t feel the same. Overall, I really loved the story and the characters and thought it was well written and I am excited to see what will be next.
