A four thousand year old mystery lurks in the hills of Georgia. While investigating a strange series of ancient codes, an archaeologist vanishes, and a professor he entrusted with the secret is murdered. Former government agent, Sean Wyatt, learns of his friend’s disappearance as well as the assassinations and must race against the clock to unravel the clues to the ancient mystery. But to save … to save him, he will have to fight off highly trained mercenaries in hand to hand combat, violent shootouts, and high speed car chases through the Blue Ridge Mountains.
And in the end, what he learns will change the history books as we know them.
˃˃˃ If Indiana Jones and Jason Bourne had a kid together, his name would be Sean Wyatt.
The Secret of the Stones is packed with suspense and romance, filled with conspiracies and secret societies, and leaves you wanting more in Dempsey’s breakthrough international mystery series. This story takes the characters through the southern United States on a wild adventure that, if not kept suppressed, could cause major political and financial upheaval.
Travel with Sean Wyatt as he pieces together a sequence of ancient riddles in this suspense packed thriller.
˃˃˃ Action so hot you’ll burn your fingers as you turn the pages.
If you love fast, up-tempo stories that don’t get bogged down in a lot of bull, this series of thrillers is for you. With crime, murder, suspense, mystery, and white hot action, you’re sure to keep turning the pages until you realize the story just ended. But beware, this book is not for the faint of heart. In the world of high stakes adventure, things can get pretty violent. You’ve been warned.

This is the first book in a trilogy. After reading, I couldn’t wait to read the next book. The author did a great job in researching the field of ancient languages and caves. The characters keep the story moving and kept me up at night waiting to see what their adventures were progressing to.
It has been a while since I read this book but it was the first one that I read by Mr. Dempsey. Needless to say I was enthralled by his narrative and the characters. I have read as many of his books as I have been able to find for free (financially strapped). I have seriously enjoyed each of his books I have read. This is my kind of book…exciting, inventive and the kind you don’t want to put down. Thanks for a wonderful read!
I was happy to add Dempsey to my list of authors to read after reading this first novel. I have since read three more and will continue. The stories include wonderful actual historical finds and exciting action. My husband and I both read this book and then planned a trip to see some of the historical areas talked about in the book. Fascinating!
What an interesting book, lots of information and humor thru out, I really enjoyed reading it.
Couldn’t put it down!
Great story…
Awesome action-packed archeological adventure! I particularly enjoyed the Native American tie-in.
I love all of the Ernest Dempsey books I have read. Being an anthropology buff as well as mysteries- 2 birds with one stone.
seems like a rip off of Brandt Legg’s books and not nearly as good
I’m being way too hard on this book. It was a really fun read. I liked it. It was just too full of coincidences for me to give it more stars. If you want some relaxation buy this. You will learn about American Indian history or maybe not, I’m still not sure!
Fun adventure combining truth and fiction.
Entertaining, semi stand alone book but makes you want to continue the series.
See Amazon and Goodreads.
Wild ride!
I was entertained
Would recommend to anyone who enjoys action with the twist of fictional History included. The author did a good job of inventing a believable retelling of Native American history.
It was action packed, however I only made it through 1/2 the book. It just lacked something I can not put my finger on, it just did not do it for me.
Great read, full of action and intrigue 🙂 Will definitely ready his other books!
This was an easy read and enjoyable. It became a little slow in the middle, but interesting enough for me to consider the sequels.
great Reading!!
