Another mystery begging to be solved! These girls went for quite a journey, I must say! I am so glad they were okay after all that has happened to them.
These girls were fantastic and enjoyable to read – loved every moment of their journey and how they solved the mystery.
These girls are loads of fun! Cannot get enough of these books!
Full of mystery, adventure, suspense, suspicion, friendships, camp, sleuthing, action and secrets.

The narrator was amazing. A great listen!
I’ll be honest and admit that I got Books 1, 3, & 4-6 in the past during free offer periods. A few days ago I finally decided to start on the first one, figuring I’d just delete them all when I found they were too childish or silly. Well I read all of them in order and enjoyed them so much I “bought” book 2 so I could see what I missed!
Now I’m not a big fan of first ‘person present tense’ stories but Tara Ellis was able to pull it off and make the story enjoyable for me in spite of that. Each book has a well-written mystery that keeps it interesting, but each book also has valuable lessons in being and making friends, even in getting along with difficult people. Though we live in Missouri, I also love how the stories take place in areas in which we have vacationed, including “A Mysterious Christmas on Orcas Island.”
Each Samantha Wolf story has an element of the supernatural (..such as Bigfoot in this one..) and some truly dangerous situations for the girls, but there is nothing I would consider inappropriate (i.e. bad language, sexual situations, graphic violence, etc.) in any of the books that would harm younger readers, yet the stories kept me enthused and reading and I’m 67 years old. I’m now going to order the next book, “The Case of the Curious Canine,” to see what Sam and Ally investigate this time.
I highly recommend this series for younger and older readers, both.
Great book for my class
Gave my granddaughter this series so read one first. The series, this is the second in the series so far, reminds me of the Trixie Belden or Nancy Drew books. Clean with no inappropriate language, drugs or sexual situations. The story focuses on the 12 year-old teen girls who solve a mystery while they are at a summer camp. Refreshing nowadays to find this sort of book for young people.
Enjoyable Nancy Drew-type mystery for all ages.
A great read for the middle-grade level and for any adults who need an innocent escape to childhood memories. The plot was not predictable or transparent but it also did not have any unrealistic twists or turns out of left field to make it hard for middle-grade students to follow.
I disliked the high level vocabulary in a book with a 3 rd grade plot… didn’t hold my students interest.
