Slow moving, was hard to keep my interest.
I liked the characters in this story. And even though I wasn’t surprised by the ending it worked for me. An easy read – good beach book.
Simple reading and at the same time full of mystery
So predictable it was tedious.
Interesting read! A bit slow at times but I found the tension intriguing. I worried for the little boy as well as worried about the main character.
A little slow moving and totally unbelievable.
Predictable
I listened to the audio version — loved listening to the British accent of the woman narrator, but it was just too predictable. I did finish it, thinking maybe there’d be a surprising twist and the end result would be different – not.
This is the kind of book that you may not have enjoyed but you know may appeal to others. One of two major things I look for in a book is a good story and the other is an appealing protagonist. I don’t like one dimensional characters. This book could have been better if the heroine was not so one dimensional, in this case terribly needy and terribly grief stricken to the exclusion of any common sense. In a number of places in the story, she conveyed the thought that she was nothing now that she was no longer a wife and mother. Well, with all due respect, I tend to disagree with that. Chapter after chapter it was the same thing. I did not think this was a psychological thriller either. The ending was predictable from early on. Again, it may appeal to some readers but it did not appeal to me. I guess a rating of three stars gives the impression that I am sitting on the fence. So be it.
Stupid.
A little predictable, but entertaining.
A good read. Not literary excellence — but good escape and an entertaining plotline.
Some leaps/reaching, but enjoyable story line.
