MicahConstantine Ross is a cocky, provoking little…yeah. And I swear, I’d think that even if his family’s business wasn’t my biggest competition. It’s time someone taught the man a lesson or two about life.At least that’s what I tell myself when I offer him a job.Call it my good deed for the year… maybe the century. But now he’s in my shop.In my space. In my every damn thought.In. My. Bed. And … space.
In my every damn thought.
In. My. Bed.
And how the hell am I supposed to resist him?
Constantine
I’ll be the first to admit I’ve royally screwed up, but what can I say?
I was a stupid teen who lost his dad and spiraled out of control.
Almost a decade later, I’m still trying to make amends.
The last thing I need is my family’s arch-nemesis wading into my life like he’s got all the answers.
Except… I really need money, and the arrogant jerk offered me a job.
I can deal with Micah’s attitude.
My attraction to him? That’s different.
He’s my boss, not my boyfriend.
And he’s way too old for me.
But God, he’s gorgeous.
Dominant.
Compelling.
I don’t want to want him…
But I can’t turn away.

Each successive book in the Love In O’Leary series gets better and better, which is saying a lot because they’ve all been good! Constantine and Micah strike sparks off each other. The course of their true love certainly does not run smooth but we readers benefit from the bumpy ride. I fell in love with these guys and had such a book hangover when I finished it. Now I truly want to visit O’Leary and meet these characters! *I received an arc of this book.*
May/Dec, Enemies to Lovers, and a lot of sweet hotness
Constantine’s mom is literally the worst character in this series, and I’m irritated I had to read two books in a row with her (since she is also Julian’s mom in the gift).
May Archer popped up as a recommendation through my audible app a couple of months ago, and I decided to listen to her Love in O’Leary series. The third book in the series, The Secret, just released, and I am in love.
May has a wonderful storytelling ability, and she pulls all the feels from you. I fell in love with Con and Micah from the very first moment, and it never wavered. The story was interesting and had a lot of dynamics. It was also fun and had me laughing at the banter between the two men.
Iggy Toma and Alexander Cresende are the narrators and did a fantastic job. Iggy is a favorite narrator of mine and doesn’t disappoint with his performance as Con.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series to hit audio, believe me when I say I will be pre-ordering the first chance I get!
So…I didn’t read The Note prior to this so the bad thing that other reviewers are hinting at was a complete surprise to me and it was definitely not good. With the confusing timeline issues I honestly had a hard time following along at times and it was difficult to get past that. I did think the HEA was mostly worth it by the end because it was absolutely hard-won. I’m a huge fan of the author so I paired that with my love for O’Leary to balance my general aversion to enemies-to-lovers, secret relationships, and extra angst.
Micah and Con went a long way to soothing any frustrations I may have had with the tropes or the slower beginning. They were good men that needed some humility, openness, a big wake-up call, and a whole lot of good lovin’. What came out of this story was a feeling that it wasn’t the best of the series but it wasn’t a flop either. It just didn’t suit my tastes all the way and I’m still eagerly awaiting more from the awaiting couples of O’Leary, especially when a great HEA like this one can come out of all the animosity.
Out of the three books so far in this sweet series, this one is probably my favorite. Unlike the other two wonderful books, this one doesn’t have a mystery subplot, instead you have two wonderful men learning to navigate growing up and letting people in. Micah and Con were delightful – with just enough dash of sexy and domineering to ratchet up the heat a hundred-fold!
Another Ross brother to drive you crazy in just the right way… Constantine’s story was everything I hoped it would be! This was another great installment in the Love in O’Leary series… highly recommended!
There is so much to love about this book. It’s the third in the Love in O’Leary series, so there are already characters that I care about and enjoy revisiting. There are great family dynamics. We have snark and teasing mixed with drama and vulnerability in the main relationship. But overall, there are two men who just make each other’s lives complete in a way neither expects.
Constantine and Micah are not quite enemies at the start of this book, but they are competitors who see worst in each other. Micah is forty, and Constantine is twenty-four, so there is a definite age gap. Micah is living his dream of running his own business, while Con is still waiting for his chance to show that he can be more than the comic screw-up the residents of O’Leary consider him to be. With all these differences, Micah and Con are still so very perfect for each other. I won’t give spoilers, but I will just say that each man is exactly what the other needs. Their sweet and tender interactions make me sigh happily, and their sexy times are super steamy. I love both of these men so much, and I think their story might be my favorite of the series so far. Fans of sexy romance and troubled heroes living in small towns are sure to love this wonderful book. I know I do!
An unlikely pair or a perfect match?
Sometimes there is a thin line between love and hate and Micah is definitely on the hate side when it comes to Con. Micah is the anthesis of Con but outside appearances can be deceiving.
At first Con seems like a shallow person I mean who can seriously be that happy all the time. It becomes apparent very quickly he is hiding some deep rooted dark emotions.
When Micah truly looks past the facade he finds an amazing man. When Con lets Micah in they find exactly what they didn’t know they needed.
They have obstacles and stereotypes to break through but when it comes to the person who makes you who you are meant to be isn’t it worth the fight?
This book takes you through all the feels. May Archer has a way of creating characters that you really become invested in!
This is the first time I have read a book by this author & I will admit that I was totally enthralled with this fascinating “enemies to lovers” MM romance. The plot is entertaining, well-thought out & written. The characters are quite unique with complex personalities as they struggle with personal issues & regrets while battling for acceptance.
There is: a mischievousness man trying to make up for some bad choices he made in the past (Constantine Ross aka Con), a business rival & mature man soon realizes he made a judgmental error with regards to Con (Micah Bloom), family issues, a controlling mother, friendship, drama, humor, homophobia, financial issues, a vendetta, secrets, emotional turmoil, memories, rivalry, judgmental, eavesdropping, realization, misconception, verbal banter, business proposition, manipulations, suspicions, vulnerability, verbal confrontations, frustration, attractions, conversations, accusations, confusion, determination, ultimatums, misunderstandings, motherly advice, declaration, jealousy, happiness, love, contentment & a well-deserved satisfying epilogue.
I’ve been dying to read Con’s story for a while, and it was just as bit as great as I expected.
It has everything you may want: age gap, enemies to lovers, the small town feel that May Archer has down to a fine art when she tells O’Leary stories.
The series has been great from its beginning and every new book doesn’t disappoint!
I loved Constantine and Micah, each with their own hung ups, and both so helpless to restist the other, tehy want each other, but they don’t want TO WANT each other!
Having read all the other books in the series, and since this one’s beginning actually takes place before the others (then spans through all the other stories lifetime) I loved seeing some of the scenes from another POV.
Oh, I love O’Leary. That little town is just so sweet, and all up in your business too.
Constantine made some poor choices when he was younger. Ten years later, everyone remembers that he was a screw-up and never lets him forget it. Right now, he’s working 2 jobs, one of which he doesn’t get paid for and is for his family’s landscaping/florist business.
Micah moved to O’Leary so that he could have his florist shop closer to all the wedding venues there. But, it’s hard breaking into a little town, especially since everyone goes to Con’s family for their business.
I love Micah and Con together. There is a lot of give and take there. They are both so good for each other. I think that they fit into each other’s weaknesses really well. I also love the looks we get into other relationships going on. It’s always nice to see different perspectives on relationships.
I loved May Archer’s books before this, but this one turned me into a rabid fan. This book hit every single note for me and I felt like her writing has never been sharper. I will one-click anything she publishes from now on – no questions asked.
In this third installment, Ms. Archer gives us Constantine and Micah, an enemies-to-secret lovers, May/December romance. Con is gorgeous, young, and snarky and he provides incredible humor and sass throughout the book. He seems to be the funny, carefree brother…but is he really? Micah is a jaded curmudgeon with the world’s biggest heart. Even though he moved to O’Leary with a plan – and Con and his family are the major obstacle in the way – he isn’t immune to Con’s antics. The chemistry between these two characters is some of the best I’ve read – period. From the scathing, but hilarious, insults that morph into sexy repartee, to the unexpectedly sweet moments that transform into five alarm fire territory, this book had me on my toes. There was just something about Micah and Con that will put them at the top of my favorite couples list.
What I love about the O’Leary books is how the storylines of each installment are intricately intertwined, yet they can all be read as standalones. Throughout each book there are easter eggs that reveal significant information that will be important later. I love this attention to detail and it made this book, that centered around Con and Micah’s secret, so appealing.
ARC received for an honest and unbiased review.
All I can say is that Con has completely captured my heart. Far from the funny, irreverent man he appears to be Con feels things deeply. He doesn’t know how to process and believe in what he feels.
When Micah approaches Con with an offer he can’t refuse Con’s world is thrown.
How can Micah see beyond the facade Con presents to the world when his own family doesn’t! Though they appear to be complete opposites they are in fact exactly what the other needs.
I loved seeing both Micah and Con evolve and grow with each other. Having someone believe in him allows Con to be open to his full potential. He finally starts to believe in himself and go after his dreams. He learns to forgive himself for past mistakes.
Micah learns to open himself up to more than work and success. He makes time for a relationship that offers so much to him. Each goes through growing pains during their courtship. Old habits and feelings are difficult to overcome. The path to their HEA is full of emotion, pain, hope, forgiveness and love.
