Good story about how faith in God overcomes. Sierra, although forced into slavery, continues to witness her Christian faith. Wish it was longer, going into what happens next. It is a good lead-in to the rest of the series and I hope that will fit into my book budget. I would recommend reading book 1 first. Seems that would connect the dots in this one.
This is the 2nd book I Joy Ohagwu. I’m sorry the only thing I liked in this story was the Christian theme. The rest of this story is not for me.
This was the first book by Joy Ohagwu I have read and wow, can she ever write suspense! I loved the main characters. Sierra is such an awesome example of what a Christian should be. For a missionary to be enslaved and work with such grace takes a faith and security in God I am sure we all hope to possess. I liked reading about the way she leads the king to accept Christ as his Savior-in spite of the dangers it could bring to him. I wish the end didn’t leave off the way it did but I believe this is a book in a series so need to look into reading some more of them. I love the intense suspense! I could not leave until the book was done!
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author but this review is my voluntary and honest opinion.
I didn’t understand how this book fits into the series until I got to the next book. But it is very important after Whisper & to understand the rest of the series. It introduces people & things that will come in the series. It is a very interesting concept. Just be sure to read it.
WOW! What a beautiful love story interwoven with detailed descriptions that made me feel like I was a part of it. At times I felt like it was a story between Jesus and His bride. Looking forward to the next book in the series and wondering how it all ties in with Pete Zendel. I highly recommend. I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion which I have given.
Another great book that’s well written with well developed characters. You truly feel like you know them and I don’t believe that I’ve ever read anything set in this timeframe. It’s obvious that the author has done her research on not only the time period but also the location. I got pulled into this book and did not want it to end. Throughout this story the author weaves God’s wondrous words and love along with lessons about trusting God. I can’t wait for the next one in this series.
Very inspiring to read a good book filled with God’s word and grace ! Love, faith, sacrifice and loyalty is what this author , Joy Ohagwu, brings to the pages of her books . . Waiting for the next one in this series . I received this book for free for an honest review .
What an enjoyable book by beloved author, Joy Ohagwu. She hits another “home run” with this novella of love and faith.
A story involving a King, a missionary, slavery, secret passages and submission of lives to Christ makes this a wonderful book that any Christian Fiction reader will enjoy. I was able to read this in a single setting as I could not wait to see how it would end.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next one that continues with the story. Great work!! Thanks to Joy Ohagwu for the ARC copy of this book. I was under no obligation to post a review and this reflects my honest opinion.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this story since it’s not my favorite genre. There’s love, loyalty, deep friendships, grace, magnanimity, salvation, treachery, danger, and greed. I loved the spiritual wisdom that is seamlessly woven into the book. I would definitely read more of Joy Ohagwu’s works.
