A one-night stand becomes much, much more in this sexy, lighthearted romance.Maid of honor Kelsey Peterson is disappointed when the bride-to-be bails on her bachelorette party—especially since Kelsey’s already ordered the stripper. Desperate for a break from her romantic woes, Kelsey goes through with the party. After all, why let a good stripper go to waste?Dr. Aaron Baucus is definitely not a … Baucus is definitely not a stripper. He’s a legit doctor with a PhD in neuropsychology. But when his friend calls him over to a bar to meet a bunch of tipsy, flirtatious bridesmaids, they assume otherwise. After all, their stripper was supposed to be dressed like a doctor. Aaron isn’t much for pretending, but with Kelsey, he’s willing to be whatever she wants him to be. At least for one night.
But fate has a wicked sense of humor: Aaron and Kelsey are the maid of honor and best man at the same wedding. And after their one-night stand, Kelsey’s pregnant, but she doesn’t know how to tell him. Aaron wants to start a relationship, but he doesn’t think Kelsey wants something long term. Can their fragile romance survive all the half truths and secrecy?

3.75 Stars… I enjoyed this funny romcom. If you’re looking for an easy read with low angst and fun times, this read is for you.
This book is too sweet and different. Here you can find the roles reversed. Aaron dreams of finding the right woman and having a family. But Kelsey is jaded. Rightfully so but still, that just makes the job harder for Aaron. He is easy going and attentive and a nice guy all around. This story is fun and light with a lot of clever banter between all the characters. Full of misunderstandings and assumptions that are causing a lot of miscommunication between Kelsey and Aaron. But that will make their story even more interesting.
I had a lot of ups and downs with this book. And, to be quite honest, the downs were nothing terrible. But they were enough to annoy me and not fully immerse myself in this story. It also, at times, seemed like it was part of a series. It was nothing so much that it was holding me back from the story of Kelsey and Aaron. But I felt as if I was supposed to know more about Kelsey’s family and friends than I got from this story. Like maybe there was a book about Jason and Tatum that came before this one??? (edited to add: I was able to find a book titled The (Half) Truth by this author that is about Tatum and Jason. These books are not listed as being part of a series at this time, but it’s obvious it’s the story I was wondering about missing.)
I really love the concept of this story. The fake (accidental) stripper one-night stand that ends up being best friends with your cousin, that’s a fun idea. Throw in a surprise pregnancy and roommate situation and it’s a great set up for a lot of antics.
Kelsey and Aaron are really sweet together, even when they first meet and decide to hook up. They decide on this one-night stand not out of overwhelming libido, but because they are both lonely and misunderstood people. It’s actually quite touching. That sweet connection ends up carrying through to their relationship later when they become roommates. I can’t say they have the best chemistry, because it was hit or miss throughout the story. But there were definitely times the chemistry was there and I felt their connection through most of the story.
Kelsey has a great relationship with her best-friend, Tatum…who also happens to be marrying Kelsey’s cousin Jason. Yet I felt as though the author was force feeding me the friendship instead of just letting it speak for itself. She was already showing me these two are great friends, she didn’t have to keep telling me over and over. Instead of me feeling a stronger connection to the characters, I was getting annoyed and felt the story was getting too wordy. The overabundance of words was evident in other scenarios in this book, but mostly when it came to Kelsey and Tatum.
I definitely open to trying more by this author so I can get a true feel for her writing and whether or not it’s for me. Like I said, this story had a fun concept and some really sweet and touching moments. It just got bogged down in places.

Whimsical and Poignant.
I found myself laughing out loud at some of the passages in this story though there were also some moving portions but in the main this is a lighthearted romance that flows easily. Thoroughly enjoyed and a recommended read.
Warning of strong language.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
So you’re having a baby!?! Lol. This comedy of errors, assumptioms, and plain miscommunication makes for a highly entertaining read. The (Secret) Baby is a sexy mess of epic proportions. Sexy mess of epic proportions was not a misnomer. This crazy one night stand with some seriously wild assumptions is is sexy. The role play was hot. The relationship is hot. The doctor is hot! I think my biggest turn on though is the chemistry and their friendship, before all Hell breaks loose.
This secret will either kill them or make them stronger…right!?! Well based on the size of my scary, slightly “Joker ” grin I would say syronger. Don’t take my word for it though because this crazy needs to be read. You wouldn’t believe me if I tried to explain it otherwise!
Sure a fun book! I had so many laugh-out-loud moments. The characters were quirky, amusing, witty and lovable.
When Kelsey hooks up with a “stripper” during her best friend’s bachelorette party, the last thing she ever expected was to end up pregnant. And when the “stripper”, Aaron, ends up being the best friend to her cousin…and he’s not really a stripper but a real-life doctor, who happens to be the guy who is moving in with her as her new roommate. Things just got a lot awkward. The chemistry between Aaron and Kelsey was burning hot. And so she decides to keep the baby a secret for now. But how long will she be able to keep everything under wraps and how will Aaron react when he finally finds out?
I loved Aaron from the start. He was sweet and cute and I loved the first scene with Kelsey and him at the club. I was crying laughing.
Super entertaining book and loved every minute of it!
The (Secret) Baby was a cute, easy read by Leddy Harper- very different than the other book that I’ve read by her (My Biggest Mistake), but I enjoyed this book very much. It starts out with Kelsey as the bridesmaid hiring a stripper for her friend’s bachelorette party. Aaron, a real doctor, shows up and really puts on a show. That was just the start of their interactions and the comedy that entails.
If you’re looking for a good romantic comedy, I definitely recommend The (Secret) Baby!
I quite liked this book.
Bits frustrated me to no end but it didn’t really take away from the story.
I loved that we see Tatum and Jason again. I always liked Tatum and Kelsey’s friendship the banter they have between them was hilarious.
Kelsey and Aaron’s relationship started out on the wrong foot and it kinda flows-ish from there.
It was a easy read, easy to pick and up and keep you entertained.
Like i said bits frustrated me, i won’t go in to loads of details i didn’t always like how things was handled but thats personal preference i guess.
Either way it was a good book and if you want to see more From Tatum and Jason from The Half Truth then grab this one!
As maid of honor Kelsey Peterson was expected to plan the party of all parties for her friend, so she went to great lengths to give her the bachelor party of her dreams, only be disappointed when the bride bailed at the last minute. So rather than waste all the good food, drinks, and the stripper Kelsey decides to have the party anyhow. Not realizing this one little decision, could have bigger consequences a few weeks later!
Charming characters, sweet light-hearted romance, and laugh out loud humor made The Secret Baby a thoroughly enjoyable read! This was my first time reading a book by this author, and I have to say it impressed on all fronts, I will definitely be back for more! There wasn’t much that I didn’t love about this one, the plot was plausible and engaging, the characters came with a tangible feel, and the words were rich with feeling. Highly recommend this one, it’s a sweet romantic comedy that’ll have you smiling throughout!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
This book blended comedy and emotion really well, I really enjoyed Kelsey in The (Half) Truth so was excited to read her story. I love how it had a good amount of comedy whilst still having a serious and emotional storyline, I’ll freely admit I needed tissues a couple of times!
The (Secret) Baby is a story with drama, family, surprises and best friends. I didn’t realize this was the second book in this series, it could be read as a standalone, but at times I felt like I was missing something. I like the way this author writes her stories, and her characters are likeable. I enjoy the banter between the characters if was fun, and sacrastic that you can’t help but laugh.
I received this book from Netgalley!
This story is the perfect beach companion. It’s a sweet and entertaining romance read with a little bit of conflict, misunderstanding and an unexpected pregnancy before the HEA ending.
It’s a story about Kelsey who has lost all faith in men, and Aaron who has almost given up on ever meeting the right woman. They meet at a bachelorette party where Kelsey mistakes Aaron for a stripper. After an amazing one-night-stand, they never expect to see each other again. But then Kelsey – who never planned on having children – discover that she’s pregnant.
When Aaron and Kelsey run into each other, Kelsey discovers it’s not that easy to tell an (almost) stranger that he’s about to become a father. And Aaron, who is quite smitten with Kelsey, manages in push her away in his attempts to act casual.
I must admit, at first I thought Aaron came off as way too desperate. But then again, I guess it’s not that easy to write a believable scenario where a neuropsychiatrist impersonates a stripper in order to get a few women’s phone numbers. But Aaron grew on me, as did the story.
I’ve never read anything by Leddy Harper before, but she is funny and a bit sarcastic – which I enjoy. This story is based on the good old-fashioned misunderstanding’s and miscommunication’s trope. So if that’s not your thing, this book isn’t for you. But if you enjoy lighthearted banter between friends, nosy family members and love, then it’s just about perfect.
The (secret) Baby by Leddy Harper a five-star read you won’t want to keep a secret. I have read the (half) Truth before this so had met some of the characters previously but you don’t need to have read it first. I loved Leddy Harpers writing style, its witty and honest and will definitely make you smile. Well Kelsey certainly has her hands full in this story, and not just with Dr Phil me up, her favourite stripper. I mean if you had one going to waste you wouldn’t want to miss out would you, waste not want not and all that. But this story isn’t about just the stripper, or the one-night stand, or great friendship, its about so much more. It’s about a great story and great writing, a story you would be sorry to miss.
This it the second book in the series and I really hope your read the first book the Half Truth with Tatum and Jason or you will be missing out on some info and thing that they say will not make sense. Kelsey is hilarious and I enjoyed her inner musing and her interaction with Tatum those two are true friend and I love reading books like that. We have Kelsey mistakenly having a one night stand with Aaron, Jasons best friend but unfortunately for both of them they did not give each other names and agreed to never see each other again, but that will never stay that way! Loved reading of this crazy clan again.
Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions
As always Leddy Harper has written a book that will suck you in from the first page. This is a story that will have you hanging onto the edge of your seat to get to the end.
Kelsey has been burned and therefore she is pretty much a man hater. So when she has a chance to forget about everything for one night she does. No names, no contact. But sometimes life throws you a curve ball.
Aaron hates when people assume things. Yes he has a PhD after his name but he isn’t a surgeon or a general practitioner. So when he has the chance to forget everything for one night, he jumps on it.
Then a surprise happens, the night of no names become new roommates but there is a secret between them. We follow as these two try and trust each other and once the truth comes out we follow as these two fall and they fall hard.
Recommended for any romance lover.
