Tessa Day had clung to the notion of a once-in-a-lifetime love for as long as she couldremember. Then one chance encounter led her to the man of her dreams. After awhirlwind romance that could only be described as something out of a fairytale, shegave her heart to her other half, only to have him throw it back like it meant nothing.Bryce Dixon was known as the care-free funny guy with a heart of … funny guy with a heart of gold. But it was all a
façade. For more than ten years, he’d been holding on to guilt that was slowly eating
him alive. He blamed himself for things in his past, and as punishment for his sins, he
walked away from the only woman he’d ever loved.
But when Tessa shows up in Hope Valley, Bryce begins to think that maybe he’s been
given a second chance. However, when danger comes calling, he soon discovers he’s in
for the fight of his life. Not only does he have to protect the woman who holds his heart,
but he also has to convince her that he can get things right the second time around.

Tessa Day had a checklist of things she wanted to do while vacationing in Vegas. Meeting Bryce Dixon was not necessarily on the list but she fell hard and thought she had found her happily ever after only to have him walk away. Ten years later Tessa finds herself in Hope Valley starting a new job only to run into none other then Bryce Dixon.
Bryce has always regretted his decision but he felt it was the right thing to do at the time. Now he is realizing it was the worst mistake he ever made and Tessa wants nothing to do with him. Bryce wants Tessa back and now he has to prove he is worth a second chance, will she be able to move on from the past?
Wonderful read. Bryce was a bit of a surprise and I really liked Tessa. Very different then the rest of the books in the series.
The Second Time Around is the seventh book in the Hope Valley series. It’s Bryce’s second chance romance with the woman he fell in love with ten years earlier.
I’ve loved Bryce’s character in the earlier books, so I was excited to finally get his story. He’s the gorgeous, easy going flirt of the Alpha Omega Investigations team. We learn about Bryce’s past and we get a front row seat when she waltzes back into his life after ten years.
Tessa is a beautiful strong leading lady. She fell in love with Bryce after only knowing him a week, and was devastated when he ended things without providing a reason. Tessa never expected to see him again, and was thrown when she discovered Bryce living in the small town where she just moved.
It was obvious an intense connection still existed between Tessa and Bryce, but I was glad she made him work for her forgiveness. While Bryce should have explained all those years earlier, his reasons broke my heart and I was glad Tessa understood. There are a couple of scenes where we are taken back in time and get to experience parts of their earlier time together which I thought added to the story. I appreciated that this book was centered on Tessa and Bryce making the decisions about their relationship, rather than the women’s club telling Tessa what she should do. When the group of women in this series get together, they are extremely nosey and can sometimes go too far expressing their opinions. It’s fun at times, but eye rolling at others.
Waiting for Forever will be the next book released, and I’m counting the days until we get Leo’s and Dani’s story.

Second Time Around was a wonderful second chance love story between Bryce Dixon and Tessa Day. These two met in Las Vegas ten years prior where they connect immediately and spend an amazing week together. When Bryce continued on his six month stint in Afghanistan, they tried to stay in touch but after a few short months Tessa received a letter from Bryce saying he could not do this anymore. My heart broke along with Tessa, but she was strong and resilient and did the best she could to move on.
It is now the present day and by a twist of fate Tessa ends up in Hope Valley, exactly where Bryce has been since he left the military. We’ve seen Bryce in previous books in this series and he was always the happy go lucky guy, but he is hiding so much pain and guilt. This is what caused him to break Tessa’s heart in the first place, but now that she is in Hope Valley and after a talking to by his friends and family, he realizes he can not let her go again. Unfortunately Tessa has been hurt in the past and then deserted by the love of her life, she is not willing to go through the pain again. But Bryce is determined to get his second chance.
Overall I did really enjoy this book, the only issue I had was the ten year span, Bryce just left her hanging and if she never relocated to Hope Valley things would still remain unresolved for Tessa. But to see how hard Bryce fought for her made it all worth it. Another great addition to an awesome series!
Bryce oh Bryce – when Bryce Dixon first meets Tessa Day in Las Vegas he gave her the week of their lives. Then he was deployed and broke her heart. Now 10 years later she walks into his life via Hope Valley and both of their worlds are turned upside down. The problem – Tessa is still the most beautiful caring girl in the world and Bryce is still gorgeous and will do anything for her – can they survive living in the same town and if they can will they find each other again.
Jessica Prince does it again with another installment to her fabulous Hope Valley series – this time with Bryce the carefree member of Alpha Security. Ms Prince though has done a great job setting this character up because who you thought was happy and free actually has a lot of pain and demons – he is just really good at hiding them. When she introduces Tessa its a slight stretch but once the story gets going it really doesn’t matter these two ware destined to be together. Told in dual POV’s we get both sides of their story and what a story it becomes. We do see familiar faces in Hope Valley – but make no mistake this is definitely Bryce and Tessa’s story.

One would think that seven books into a series that it would be starting to lose a little of its luster or getting to the point that it was time to retire it and discover a new collection of friends and love stories. That is most definitely not the case in regards to Hope Valley. If anything, the series just keeps getting better and better. Each book in the story offers something new and exciting without becoming redundant and boring.
I have loved all the characters so far but there was something special about Bryce and Tessa. I liked their connection. I also loved the reason that this author used to explain why Bryce had purposely kept himself estranged from Tessa all this time. I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why or what could have kept him away for ten years. Once I realized his reasons it all made sense. Would I have liked to have known what happened in the ten years between both of them? Absolutely. However, it didn’t break the story.
There was a hint as to what was coming next which has me excited to see how this author is going to create another story that will be amazing and fresh. There is a reason that this author is one of my all-time favorites. I highly recommend this series and story. Especially, for the readers that have an affinity to Kristen Ashley because there is a similarity in the writing style.
OMG!! I did not see this coming!!! I figured Bryce’s book would be his second chance, but his story blew me out of the water!! The biggie plot twist kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen. Tessa is awesome. I love her “take no crap” attitude. And her profession? She was always meant to be in Hope Valley. Absolutely a home run!!
The Second Time Around by Jessica Prince is book 7 in the Hope Valley series. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone and TSTA is the same- can be read as a standalone. I was so excited to see that Bryce gets his story and what a story it was!! Bryce and Tessa’s story is a 2nd chance romance is full of feels, swoon-worthiness, small town goodness, and slow burn romance.
Bryce came across as the flirty, lighthearted rogue but in past books there was a hint of pain in his past. Bryce’s book didn’t disappoint with opening up with the layers of him and his past. We find out who Tessa is to Bryce and the past they shared. There are twists and turns that keep you hooked from start to finish. It’s such an emotionally intense and beautifully written story. Their love story is incredible, hot, sweet, heartbreaking, emotional, and full of feels. There was moments that I wanted to smack Bryce and then hug Bryce. I loved Tessa. She is intelligent, sweet, has parts of her broken yet she picked herself back up and kept on going. This woman is amazing! At times, not gonna lie- thought she needed another man for her HEA but hang tight…everything will make sense. Bryce and Tessa’s love story is beautiful. Ms. Prince has written another book hangover.. gosh, I’m needing another HV book like stat.
My Rating: 4.9 stars *********
The Second Time Around
Book 7 Hope Valley
By Jessica Prince
Absolutely love love! Very well written!! Captivated my interest throughout! Very fun beautiful second chance romance. Love the characters and their chemistry.
“He’d promised to prove he could get this right the second time around, that he was a man who deserved my love. Now it was my turn to prove I was worthy.”
What an awesome book to an awesome series!!
Highly recommend!!
Another Alpha Omega man gets his well deserved HEA!!! Bryce and Tessa met while both vacationing; she had just graduated college and he was getting ready to be deployed. They shared the most amazing week together. Then they went they separate ways and hadn’t seen each other until 10 years later. When they meet again Tessa what’s nothing to do with Bryce and then we find out why. Bryce was dealing with demons but never stopped loving Tessa and she didn’t know the entire story of what happened to him. Bryce gave her time and it was time for him to make his move and win her back he did. Tessa was awesome and I like how she voiced her opinion and wasn’t afraid of anyone. I like how she fit in with the other ladies and how loving and caring she was. When you find out what happened to Bryce she was a trooper and was there for him. They were a fantastic duo and did everything in their power to help people that needed it.

The Second Time Around is book seven in the Hope Valley series. I always recommend reading in order when there are recurring characters, but you could certainly read it as a stand-alone. This time, it’s Bryce’s turn to get his HEA. When Tessa moves to Hope Valley to take the director position at Hope House, she gets a surprise from the past when she sees that Bryce, who she hasn’t seen in 10 years, lives there. They both feel that strong connection that was there so many years ago, but there’s a lot of secrets and doubts that will have to be dealt with if they want to get their second chance. I really enjoyed this one. I loved Tessa, although I did feel like she maybe should have made Bryce fight a little harder. Sometimes, we just need some good grovel, you know? Bryce was very sweet and likeable. I love the girl gang that is present in this series, and I love that it just keeps growing. The Hope House kids had me laughing and sobbing. I feel like we got a little of all the emotions in this one. This series has absolutely become a favorite of mine and I really love this cast of characters.
Talk about well done! This isn’t quite the second chance I’ve come to expect from authors. Sure, Bryce and Tessa have a chance to make things right, but Tessa is no doormat and Bryce is no “let me grunt and it’s all okay now” man. Bryce knows he did wrong, and he also knows that he’s got to work to make it right. So he does. And Tessa knows that she hasn’t truly been happy or moved on, even though she’s had years to work at it. So she’s willing to give Bryce a chance. But do they leave it at friendship or a true reconciliation? That’s what Bryce needs to really work for and he also has to convince Tessa to go for it all.
I’ve adored this series and this book fits right in with the rest of them. We have mature characters, we have close friends, we have some drama but it’s realistic instead of OTT, and we have that epilogue! I’m now wishing away the year just to get to Christmas baking again. Well done, Jessica. Well done.
4.5 stars!
Loved, loved, loved it!!!! This second chance romance sucked me in from the first few pages! I’ve loved Bryce’s character from the previous Hope Valley books and couldn’t wait to meet the woman who he’d been hiding! He was such a goofy and flirtatious man, but you could tell something or someone had cut him deep with how he used humor and wit to avoid anything serious.
Tessa was such a bright spark of energy! I adored her personality and drive. She was an incredible human being who’s overcome so much. Her past wouldn’t define her and she was so determined to make something of herself, giving her all to others. I loved how the women of HV pulled her in immediately and made her part of the sisterhood. She fit right in!
I was so consumed by the rekindling of a relationship between the H and h. It felt like a slow burn but it was extremely satisfying to see Bryce have to prove himself and really work for Tessa’s love and affection. I appreciated the pace of the story and thought the writing was wonderful.
The emphasis on foster children and their families was such a powerful story line. Charity’s role in this book was tragic but also very heartwarming. I really liked how the author used her as a key component in Tessa’s new life and position at Hope House.
The ending of this book blew me away. I was so proud of the growth of the characters and their ability to communicate, trust and move forward. I couldn’t have asked for a more suitable ending for this couple.
Jessica Prince is an immediate one-click author for me and she needs to be one of yours too! The Second Time Around, book six in the Hope Valley series is my favorite to date. A small town, second chance romance with so much emotion, you will be hooked from the first page! Bryce and Tessa have each been through their fair share of turmoil in the years that they have been apart but the connection between them is still there. Through healing and understanding along with amazing chemistry, Bryce and Tessa are about to find out whether a HEA is in the cards for them! I highly recommend this book!!
I love second chance storylines. Bryce and Tessa’s journey is a great addition to this series. Their chemistry is instant and their story will pull at your heart strings. Worth the read.
This series is fantastic & it definitely in the top 3 of Jessica’s series. I was so ready for this book. I was ready to get more of the story on Bryce. He is sweet, broken & has the hint of alpha that we come to enjoy with this series. Tessa is that wonderful sweet & shy, but has strength that you admire. The hurt & emotional turmoil both of these characters have been through was well written, but doesn’t take over the story. The chemistry throughout is hot! Just like every other story from Jessica I was not ready for it to end. I enjoyed how well she fit into the group too.
I highly recommend this book. Told in dual POV.
Like I always say when reviewing Jessica Prince’s bookS, I love her books.
This is a beautiful second chance story and one of my favorite trope, small town romance.
Second Time Around is the 6th book in The Hope Valley series and I highly recommend this series. It’s one if my favorites.
Tessa and Bryce met in Las Vegas 10 years before and married each other.
But with Brice in the military and after something something tragically and heartbreaking happened they haven’t spoken since. But now Brice wants his wife back and will do everything to get her back.
Love this book and the beautiful storyline.
If you love protective Alpha males, small town romance and second chance romance then this book is for you.
My Rating: STARS!
This is one of those books in a series that you didn’t know you needed it until you started. Tessa and Bryce were the best kind of second-chance. The chemistry between these 2 was intense. They both were a bit broken and had healing and some groveling that had to happen. The banter between these 2 was fabulous and as always it’s nice to read about the previous characters from the town of Hope Valley. These books aren’t just romance, they are also a group of close knit friends that are there for each other no matter what and I absolutely love that.
I received a complimentary ARC – early release copy of this book in Kindle format from the author for review purposes.
This was a wonderful addition to the story and its Bryce’s romance. We have met him in the previous stories and he is the charmer guy at the PI firm.
He meets new woman to town, Tessa who is his ex. One he left because of things that happened in his military career, many years before. He discovers Tessa has moved to town and he realizes this is his second chance.
I really enjoyed this story. There are some surprises along the way and if you liked Bryce in the previous story you will really love this story as well. We learn more about him and Tessa. Tessa is in town to run the new program for foster kids and she was such an awesome character and so badass.
A sweet, heartfelt second chance romance, trust had to be re-earnt after a decade apart. An enjoyable read.
What an amazing 5 star story this was. I devoured this story in a matter of a few short hours. A solid page turner.
Tessa moves to Hope Valley for a new start. What she doesn’t expect is to come face to face with her past, Bryce. Things are about to get very interesting.
I basically read this story in one sitting. It’s an amazing second chance sweet romance that made me swoon. I loved this series from the start and it keeps on delivering. The characters were perfectly created and developed. Bottomline this is a must read.
Can be read as a standalone but it’s part of a series. Told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
