From #1 New York Times bestselling author Lauren Blakely comes a second chance romance that’ll make your heart feel good!I have a big plan for my career and it most certainly doesn’t involve my ex. AKA my first love. It definitely doesn’t entail working with him every day on a brand-new project for my jewelry line. And it absolutely doesn’t include falling for the man all over again. But the … again. But the trouble is, he’s kind, charming and so darn smart. Not to mention easy on the eyes. And thoughtful, too. Also, he wants to get to know me again. To take me out for coffee, to chat on the phone, to go to museums.
It’s a dizzying, delicious courtship, but I don’t know if my heart can handle this from the man who broke it to pieces once upon a time… Or am I willing to risk everything for a second chance at first love?
Author’s Note: Note: in 2013, I wrote CAUGHT UP IN US, and though it’s no longer available for sale, the characters of Kat and Bryan seemed to demand another chance in the spotlight. THE SECOND CHANCE PLAN is a reimagining of their second chance romance, with 70 percent brand-new material, vastly expanded characterizations, and his POV woven into the story, so you can come to know and love Kat and Bryan at their best, like I do. Enjoy!
In this swoony, new reboot of the contemporary romance series, “Caught in
Love,” dive into four interconnected standalones that will make your heart
happy, starting with The Pretending Plot, Lauren Blakely’s original fake
fiancé romance!
1: The Pretending Plot (previously called Pretending He’s Mine)
2: The Dating Proposal
3: The Second Chance Plan (previously called Caught Up In Us)
4: The Private Rehearsal (previously called Playing With Her Heart)

Great author! Love many of her books.
The Second Chance Plan is the third standalone in Lauren’s new reboot of her Caught Up in Love series. I read the series back in 2013 and adored it. Her first series!! If you have already read it then you will love it even more now with the new material. If you haven’t, then you will fall in love for the very first time with these characters.
Five years ago they fell in love over the summer before her freshman year of college. Five years ago he walked away and broke her heart and now he was back. As Kat’s mentor in business grad school. It was the last class she needed to graduate. Last semester before she could run her business full-time. She needed to get through this mentorship and move on but how is she going to do that while working along side her first and only love, Bryan.
Determination. Motivation. And keeping her hands to herself. And he needed to keep his hands to himself. They both know what is at stake. They also both know that they needed to keep the past in the past. So it was a clean slate. But can they really talk business in cafes and offices without wanted to go back to how things were? To start fresh in a whole new way?
I forgot how much I loved Bryan and Kat! And with new swoony, witty, and sassy moments I now love them even more. They are both passionate, funny, smart, and so full of love.
Quotes:
I knew what his lips tasted like. How his arms felt when I skimmed my palms over the muscles there. How his kisses went on and on, how I never wanted them to end.
“Voilà indeed. I take it you’re fluent?” “Oui.” “Moi aussi.” He raised an eyebrow and said in French, “Then I can flirt with you in French and it’ll be like a secret language just between us.”
This was the kind of kiss that could go on and on, like a slow and sexy love song that thrummed through me from the inside out.
Really sweet second chance romance. The sexual tension was off the charts, the characters weren’t actually intimate till the very end. I loved Kat and Bryan and their banter.
The Second Chance Plan
Caught Up In Love, Book 3
By: Lauren Blakely
Narrated by: Zachary Webber, Emma Wilder
This reinvention of the Caught Up in Love series by Lauren Blakely has my attention! I am loving these couples, each their own trope and so much fun! Kat is in college, almost ready to graduate and has to do a semester of class with a mentor. Working on her jewelry business, this could take her to the next level, until she finds out who her mentor is. What is the chance it’s her old boyfriend Bryan? She doesn’t want to work with him, but if she wants the grade she will have to. Now Bryan is doing what he can to get that spark back. It’s not hard, but there is something that has kept them apart and until it is resolved, their newly forming relationship may be doomed! This story is cleverly written with flashbacks, letting us live through the past and piece together the different parts of their history. Blakely does this so well, the story easily flows with one narrator giving us the past and the other the present. It’s a wonderful listen, with obstacles to overcome and a second chance at first love!
Narration by Zachary Webber and Emma Wilder is guaranteed entertainment without even knowing the book, but when they perform a Lauren Blakely book, we know it’s going to be phenomenal. Each with their own time and point of view, these two bring to life the past and present.

The Second Chance Plan is an extended and updated edition of Caught Up in Us. I haven’t read the previous edition. This is the third book in the Caught Up in Love Series. Kat and Bryn’s story is a fun and sexy second chance to love. The back and forth, past to present, is well done and easy to follow. Zachary Webber and Emma Wilder did a great reading of this story. I enjoyed it.
This was my very first Blakely romance and I have been a fan of her work ever since. Now she has revamped this sweet and sexy second chance romance, and it is even better! Kat and Bryan meet unexpectedly 5 years after their heartbreaking split. Kat is trying to complete her masters program to help her make her jewelry business more successful when her professor assigns Bryan as her mentor. They agree to make a fresh start and work together affably. Neither has forgotten the other, and the hidden reasons for their split prevent them from moving on. As they spend more time together, learning who they are today, it renews their attraction to each other and reignites the fiery chemistry that never left. I love the way this was told in flashback sequence, and told in both Kat and Bryan’s pov. What makes this story even more enjoyable is the wonderful narration by Zachary Webber, and Emma Wilder. They added so much personality to this story making Bryan and Kat come alive. I was totally lost in this world as they made me feel all the doubt, heartache, joy, and passion of this story. They really made this touching, sweet and steamy romance even better!
Kat and Bryan second chance at love story is good, even though they got separated they still found themselves gravitating towards one another. I love Lauren Blakely humor and this book has it as well. This reboot series has been edited and redone in a way that shows the maturity the author has gotten over the years from the previous version and I think it has done it justice.
**4.5 stars**
The Second Chance Plan is a reboot of Lauren Blakely’s first romance novel, Caught Up in Us. If you originally read that story, this one does have 70% brand new material, and his POV is included. It’s a second chance trope. Kat and Bryan met and dated briefly during the summer before she went to college. He was her brother’s best friend, and 5 years older than her. However, he broke up with her for unknown reasons. Imagine Kat’s surprise when 5 years later Bryan walks into her graduate school class and as fate would have it, the two of them get paired together for a business mentorship. Both characters were smart, sweet, kind, and perfect for each other. Their romance was swoonworthy. Not to mention so many of your favorite romantic movies, books, and songs were all declared throughout. This was so sweet, and romantic. I really enjoyed this one and would highly recommend this!

4.5 star Review of The Second Chance Plan (Caught Up In Love #3) by Lauren Blakely
If you are looking for a fast, spicy hot read then The Second Chance Plan is the book for you. This is an extended and updated edition of Caught Up In Us.
This is Kat Harper and Bryan Leighton’s story and is an entertaining read that had me invested from the first to the last chapter. A second chance at love story and one that ticked the boxes for me. As I have come to expect from Ms. Blakely, the story was funny with characters you cannot help but fall for and who are easy to relate too..
The chemistry between Kat and Bryan sizzles and I was so invested with their story that I couldn’t put it down. There is history between them and as the intensity of their current feelings builds slowly it build until it almost bursts into flames which I found captivating.
Can they move on from the past and in turn find the happiness that has alluded them or will it all come crashing down again?

4.5 Stars for The Second Chance Plan, Book 3 in the Caught Up In Love Series.
I have to be honest I struggled to get into this book but I’m so glad I persevered because it turned into a great second chance romance which happens to be one of my favourite genres.
Kat and Bryan meet five years ago they have history and when they split up he broke her heart, how will she feel now he is back and once again in control of her future…..
Kat needs to pass one more class before she can run her business and she is looking forward to meeting her new mentor until she realises who it is. Can she work with the man who broke her heart and will fate be kinder to her this time around …….
This is a entertaining witty read, the characters are easy to connect with and it has the perfect mix of love, passion and humour. I loved swooning over Bryan and I loved Kat and her sassy attitude but what I loved most was their story because it’s a romance that’s full of love and in the end happiness.
The Second Chance Plan was an engaging second chance slowburn with all the feels.
When Bryan met Kat it was love at first sight until suddenly it wasn’t. Years later their paths crossed again when Kat was in grad school and in need of a mentor. Understably Kat was less than enthused to see Bryan but the spark between them couldn’t be denied. I enjoyed watching them try to make the best of an awkward situation. I loved Bryan and how deeply he loved Kat.
The flashbacks throughout Kat and Bryan’s story allowed me a glimpse into their past and kept me fully invested. The Second Chance Plan was full of wit, lots of feels and swoonworthy moments I always look forward to in a great second chance romance.
Second chance romances fill my heart with emotional overload. And Lauren Blakely fed my heart and soul with the story of Kat and Bryan.
Kat and Bryan had a budding romance. Young and in love, trying to maneuver the obstacle course called life. But their happiness is short lived when Bryan simply walks away. Kat simply moves on…with a broken heart.
When the two are paired up in a program that Kat needs to complete for her business degree, tension along with old wounds emerge. But whenever they’re together, feelings from long ago creep in. A look, a touch, a shared memory overtake them. But Kat can’t afford the damage that could result professionally or personally to her heart.
This couple fought a losing battle. Bryan slowly revealed why he hurt the woman he loved and ever so courageously battled to win her back.
I absolutely loved this new re imagined and longer story of Kat and Bryan. I read it years ago and I must say Ms Blakely made it even steamier and hotter than the first time. You get so much more in this version and the banter and funny parts between Kat and Bryan are great. Kat and Bryan are a wonderful couple and the connection they have is amazing. This is definitely a book worth reading as a new book for some and definitely for those of us who have read the original. Wonderful HEA!

Turn up the romance to level 5-dreamy and swoony stars!!
There’s a lot to be said for the angst level in a second chance romance, but for this one, it’s all about the unforgettable love. The one that didn’t so much as get away as run away. That’s what Bryan did five years ago.
Not because he was scared to commit or he was having doubts. No, this guy did it for less selfish reasons. What they were will be found within the slow-burning pages of this story.
Bryan met Katerina five years ago during her last summer before college. It was love at first look, first smile, first touch and O.M. G, first kiss. Then, just as they were about to embark on the next chapter of their so far, chaste relationship, Bryan leaves. Not just town, but the entire country.
Kate is rightfully devastated and when she sees him again in her Grad class, she’s less than pleased
Lauren draws out the intense attraction between these two almost to the end, but it doesn’t feel like it’s missing that extra oomph in the titillation department. Bryan and Kate have enough chemistry between them to bring an extinct volcano back to life. This was a sweet, wonderful love story that will leave you sighing and begging for more from this couple.
One-Click The Second Chance Plan and be prepared to… swoon your heart out.
Kat and Bryan fall in love – twice!!
This sweet romance has a unique framework. Bryan’s POV tells about their first shot, five years ago, and why it ended. Kat’s POV details their present day collaboration, and her hesitation about taking another chance with him. Most of the chapters are hers, with his interspersed so that the two love stories parallel each other beautifully. Just as we’re learning from Bryan why they broke up five years before, Kat is dealing with the fall-out of learning what she didn’t know then.
Their romance both past and present is so tender, so breathtakingly detailed and emotional. The years melt away as they work together and their love shines bright for all to see. No surprises here, just a sweet and engaging romance that hits every mark perfectly. The epilogue is guaranteed to make even the most cynical romance reader swoon. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Lauren Blakely’s The Second Chance Plan is a swoony, second chance romance with a decadently slow burn. And when said burn finally burns, it COMBUSTS.
Kat Harper fell in love with Bryan Leighton the summer before she left for college. Then inexplicably, he broke her heart. Five years later, Kat is dismayed to discover that Bryan has been assigned to be her mentor in one of her MBA classes. Bryan has always regretted letting Kat go, but he knew it was necessary. He’s just as surprised as she is that they’re now in a mentor/mentee scenario. Despite the circumstances, they both try to make the best of it. However, as their work relationship blossoms, will old feelings remerge, or is the past too painful to revisit?
This novel embodies all of the great elements of a second chance romance. There are some great flashbacks that help flesh out the narrative arc, and there’s a lot of pent up emotion (and definitely some pining) that is happening that I wholeheartedly endorse/support. The tension and chemistry between Kat and Bryan is intense, y’all. Add in some delightfully witty text exchanges, a strong female friendship, and a scorchingly hot love scene, and I’m all in.
This novel is a reimagined version of Blakely’s previous novel, Caught Up in Us, and all ebook preorder proceeds are being donated to help fund Australian fire relief. So, do yourselves a favor, and preorder The Second Chance Plan, as well as Blakely’s The Pretending Plot, and support a worthy cause whilst enjoying two fabulously fun novels.
