Great story about relationships, forgiveness, and small town legends.
I found this book through an email from bookbub. It’s currently offered for free. It’s a quick read. There’s a well troddened story here; girl leaves small town, comes home for family emergency runs into old friends and flames etc, etc. The small town girl who made good is Wendy, who is currently a successful realtor in Sacramento. She comes back to her small coastal town to help her brother sell the family inn after her grandmother’s death. She meets a stranger (and his dog-that’s how you know he’s a good guy and not creepy) on the beach and ends up falling for him.
The characters are well written, and the book moves along quickly (you meet someone and two weeks later throw a hissyfit that they need to go out of the country for work-when they say that’s what they do for a living?), there is the little detail that never got explained in the book. Why did the grandmother specify in her will that the inn had to be sold, when it had been in the family for generations, Wendy’s brother was currently successfully running it and it’s sale will cause him to become jobless and homeless? Surely, the author could have used a different trope; needed to be in town for a month to get her share of profits, needed to be in town for memorial service, any of the plot contrivences from the movie Doc Hollywood…that was never successfully explained. Maybe it will be addressed in a later book, as I understand this is the start of a series, but I’m not willing to go any further with them.
A wonderful well written romance story. This engaging storyline is a full of love, emotion and pain intriguing me page after page. The characters are interesting, well developed and have great chemistry. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC.
I hate books where bright heroines act dumb and impulsive. Each problem seemed illogical and invented to have a story. Easy to read but repetitive.
One thing I immediately liked about this book was that Susan got right into the story instead of wasting a chapter or two on nothing. This is a great book to keep your attention. It reads like it could really happen to you and also you could have left home after graduation because you wanted to get away from your life there. There are times you want to tell Wendy she needs to listen to someone and times you want to laugh at her for what she’s doing, and times you almost want to cry with her. Her letter from her grandmother got me in my heart! I loved this book and I would love for my granddaughter to read it. Sus is a beautiful writer. I have not done this book justice in my report.
This is a good book for a new series by the author. I really enjoyed the storyline with it’s unexpected romance and the comedy as well. The characters were great and it had you wanting to continue to read till the end. The story is about Wendy having to go back to her grandmother’s inn where she was brought up but left as soon as she could, running away from painful memories. Having to go back because of the way the grandmother’s will was written was something she dreaded. She does go back and meets a gorgeous, handsome man Max and is immediately attracted to him. But since she is only there for a month to fix up the inn to be sold, she didn’t want to be involved. As the story goes on, what you plan isn’t always going to be what happens. Sometimes things turn out for the good, even when you are fighting them. Great read and I look forward to the rest of the series.
Great entertaining story. I loved the book so much and wish there was a sequel. Easy to read and an interesting twist. Loved the characters too.
It was a great read for a beach read or a rainy weekend by the fire. The story was fast moving and the characters lovable.
Easy romantic read
Excellent book. Enjoyed it!
A good romance.
This is the cutest book about legends, relationships, love and trust. I loved how the story unfolded and wove the past with the present.

Wendy’s grandmother died and Wendy had to go back to her childhood home. She hadn’t been back for 9 years and her grandmother left her the inn with the stipulation she had to run it for one month with her brother, Brian, and then they had to sell it. Wendy and her brother lived with their grandmother when they were young. Their parents couldn’t stay in one place long and the time came that they thought Wendy and Brian should stay in one place, make friends, and go to school.
Wendy has always felt she was abandoned, and we see how that has affected her whole life. Running the inn and being back to her childhood home brings back both good memories and bad. She has to be there one month and in that time will she discover she is home and begin to see life differently.
This is a heart warming story of struggling what you want and what is asked of you. Wendy has return to The Moon Blue to take care of her grandmother’s inn, when she meets Max. This is a amazing story of self discovery, great chemistry, miscommunication, memories and loving family / friends that is an enjoyable story to read on a lazy day.

This is book one in the Kissed by the Bay series. Blue Moon Bay is small town that Wendy never had intentions of returning to. Her grandmother passes and leaves her the Inn. She is a successful realtor and the catch is that she has to sell the Inn herself. However, a chance encounter on the beach with Max adds to the changes of where Wendy originally envisions this trip home to be. A really good emotional story as Wendy talks about her past and moves forward with her life and hopefully Max. Enjoy!

This was absolutely the best! This book had everything – drama, humor, family death/friction/conflict, friendship and deception. It also was heartwarming, tender, and compassionate. There is an intricate weaving of the storyline which comes full circle by the end of the book. So many stories within the story. The author did a fantastic job of making the characters come alive. They were very down-to-earth and could be your next door neighbors. Max meets Wendy while walking on the beach. Max is good looking, wealthy and compassionate but only going to be at the inn for one more night. Wendy is independent, driving, unique, and overwhelmed with selling her grandma’s inn. She will return to the city once the inn sells. Max and Wendy share a connection, an attraction. What will they do? During the time at the inn Wendy is questioning many different things that she is experiencing. Max decides to stay more than one night. Why? This was a ten star read. First time read for this author and I will be looking for more to read from her. The story was beautifully written. I can’t wait for the next one!
Thoroughly enjoyed this book and other books from this author.
Fun to read book from one of my favorite authors.
Another story of Blue Moon Bay, maybe the first one, although I read others before this one.
Blue Moon Bay is known as a quaint tourist spot, but by the hotel in Blue Moon Bay is a sign, telling the story of a love that went wrong, but also a legend, that whoever kisses under the blue moon would be in love for eternity….
This book is the story of the granddaughter of the hotel owner, who was asked to sell the hotel in person or lose the money for herself and her brother to charity.
Falling for the charm of the town was not the plan, nor falling in love – but both happen and a fight to keep the inn becomes as important as fighting for her man.
