This book was previously published in Amazon Kindle WorldsJackson Langley, better known as Bear, felt like his team was family and he rarely thought of marriage. At least not until he rescued Kayla Townsend in the parking lot outside Ace’s Bar and Grill. Kayla secretly longed to meet Jackson, but her distrust of men kept her away from him. After he rescues her, she relaxes her guard and they … rescues her, she relaxes her guard and they spend one night of passion which leads to more. Kayla’s old fears of distrust returns when Jackson doesn’t call her after their time together. She fears it’s over and then an unexpected pregnancy changes everything.
When Jackson returns and danger stalks Kayla, Jackson will do anything to keep her and their unborn child safe.

I liked it
Kayla Townsend lives inside her head. She has been hurt in past relationships and doesn’t trust her instincts. She also compares men to the way her father left her mother. Not many men can get through. Bear, Jackson Langley is a Navy SEAL. He likes his privacy after a mission before he feels human enough to be out. It seems Kayla has crossed his radar in the past but this time he approaches her for a dance. She turns him down. In the end, he rescues her. Ever the gentleman, he never pressures her for more than what she wants to give. She is not sure how to handle that. Jackson always makes her feel like she is most beautiful woman in the world. But an oops happens. She knows she will be just fine raising this child. What she doesn’t understand, is that Jackson is an honorable man and that she can count on him. He encourages her to be as independent as possible. When threats start to happen, she has no better people in her life than Navy SEALs. I can’t wait to read more.
Great characters and fun storyline. Kayla and Bear have a real connection and the surprise is a wonderful gift.
Fast paced suspenseful read that also has a fast relationship, can’t call it romance as such as they don’t have much time for dates or build up. This is all in pretty much from the start with threats and some action along the way, characters that are easy to like. I also enjoyed that minor squabbles or disagreements weren’t drawn out or blown up more than needed to be, it made it a smoother read and no darker than the plot itself demanded. The sexual content is fairly tame by most book standards these days, just enough but not overly graphic or explicit. Hooked enough to buy the next book and devour.
I love reading books about navy seals
Just an all around good read if you like Seal stories and I do! Quick entertaining read.
very good
A good read
I liked the story line but it was a little choppy.
This is a romantic suspense which works well as a standalone but is also part of a series. Jackson agrees to go to a club with the team soon after they return from a misson and spies a young lady who has come in with a group but isn’t joining them on the dance floor. That young lady is Kayla and she turns him down when he asks her to dance with him, even though she’s been attracted to him for ages! That’s their first conversation but fate is going to bring them together again and again in this well paced romantic suspense.
The story includes plenty of mystery as the romance between these two grows and dangers threaten. The team – and their wives – all play important roles in helping this couple stay safe and help them learn to overcome their fears as their romance grows. It is a heartwarming story that I recommend to anyone who enjoys reading romantic suspense where the reticent SEAL hero finds a love who needs protecting from danger but is a feisty lady reluctant to accept orders!
This is a feel good book! I read while I am on the train to & from work. So to read a book that keeps you entertained is wonderful. This story is easy to get into each morning & evening. I enjoyed sharing there lives as the story went on.
Navy seals are always fun to read about and always take care of what they consider theirs.
Love this series!
STEAMY!
Such a good story with exceptional characters. I loved it!
Jackson was a bit of a jerk which detracted from the rating above. This was a decent read but not very original but somewhat entertaining.
Would give it more than a 5. Really good read
Very good to way to spend a cold winter night.
Enjoyable read. Now following this author.
