Navy SEAL David Hettinger has never wanted kids—not with his job…and not with a past that has shown love isn’t for him. But when his lifelong best friend, Eleanor Thornton, shows up looking gorgeous and asking for a big favor, he’ll have to rethink his stance on playing Baby Daddy.Wildlife photographer Ele knows she wants a baby—romantic partner not included. A heartbreaking marriage and messy … and messy divorce have her convinced that a traditional family is not for her. And who better to make a no-strings-attached baby with than her BFF David? He has zero interest in parenthood or a serious relationship. Besides, she’s always wondered what it would feel like to be wrapped up in those sexy, alpha male arms…
When their babymaking soon leads to a positive pregnancy test, David and Ele are each secretly disappointed that their contracted time is cut short. Especially after David is deployed, leaving Ele to give birth to their daughter on her own. Its only when she reunites with David while on assignment in the African rainforest that their passion that never went away is reignited. But when the area is gripped by a dangerous insurgency, all of David’s fears about getting too close come rushing back. How can he possibly have a future with Ele when he can’t guarantee they’ll survive the day?

This novel contains sexual content, violence and profanity.

Ms. Katie Knight has just released a gut-wrenching and beautiful romance for each of us romance junkies to enjoy.
What would you do for love?
I try immensely hard never to give away any part, so that I do not ruin it for other readers. That being said, here it goes…
This complex and riveting book grabbed my attention immediately and had me reading, into the wee hours of the morning (gladly). There is history between David and Ele; it is an important piece of the storyline. As the years pass, Ele comes to a conclusion that she needs help with. Also, to have a glimpse of the sacrifices that a serviceman (or woman) makes, makes it all the more realistic. Humbling, if you will. Honestly, the ‘favor’ that Ele asks of David might be shocking however, to me, it is still easily envisioned. To see the dramatic turn of events during this release, keeps you glued to the drama and routing for this ‘family’ to come together for their happily ever after.
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader’s copy of The Seal’s Baby Deal in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion.
I truly recommend reading this release.
Congratulations to Ms. Knight.
So, we have a couple who sign a contract to make a baby, who actually love each other, but are too involved in their own silly drama which escalates when both are tossed together in a volatile African village. I found this story tried my patience. I kept thinking “really?” And “come on…”. Ok, not great, just ok.
This is a great story that I couldn’t put down. Ele & David had been best friends since they could remember but after her divorce from her abusive husband she swears off men but has always wanted a baby so she talks David into being the father or more like sperm donor of her child but she has a contract drawn up which he agrees to sign away any parental rights yo the child. Without telling each other how they really feel they start a romantic relationaship trying for a baby which sees them fall in love with each other but not wanting to ruin their friendship but once she is pregnant he is then sent back off on mission with his SEAL Team & their contact then fades off because of the contract which sees their close friendship become awkward. Almost 2yrs later by chance they meet when she is is working on a photo job in Kondeke & he is there on a mission, the awkwardness is there & he sees his daughter for the first time but because of the contract he has to act like she means nothing to him as that’s the way Ele wanted it but he can’t help but be concerned for their welfare & wants them to go back to the US straight away to protect them but her being stubborn she refuses to go. Trouble starts after the countries ruler dies & until his SEAL Team can get his son back into the country to take over things only get worse when there is uprising & he has to get them to safety but whilst they are in the safe house he starts to feel a bond with his daughter Rose & his feelings of love for Ela are still as strong. They give into each the hot sexual chemistry they have been fighting to keep away from but then the contract keeps coming back up bringing the walls back up. When he is captured by the enemy Ele they both realise that they have always loved each other but were too scared to say & now it seems like they will never get the chance. This has got denial, tears, fun times, stubborness on both sides that have you not wanting this to end.

His parents have always told him that he was good enough for nothing. So the girl he gets to know when he is 5 years old, and his whole life was there for him, can never find him good enough. What he can do for her is to fulfill her heart’s desire; make her pregnant. He signs a contract that he renounces his rights to their child and will never interfere with her upbringing.
As a SEAL, he works everywhere in the world where it is dangerous and when, after 2 years, he meets Ele and his daughter, he does not know how quickly he will have to get them from the country on the brink of a civil war. Ele, who has loved him for years, thinks he wants to get rid of her. How different this is ……
A friends-to-lovers romance with a dangerous element when she threatens to get into a civil war when she carries out her profession, that of photographer. It is hard to believe that David is constantly turning away emotionally from her and their daughter. Fortunately, their happy ending is not far away.

There was a good mix of action, attraction, laughs and a bit of danger but I got frustrated with Ele because at times she was too pig headed and appeared to have no regard for Rose being in the middle of pretty much a war zone. I feel sorry for David as he really wasn’t interested in the contract so I get why he needed to walk away and distance himself from Eli and unfortunately Rose also before she was even born. When a chance meeting causes both their feelings to rear up and either deal with them or let then fester even more than they already are while dealing with being stuck in a small village on an African rain forest surrounded by insurgents.

The Seal’s Baby Deal by Katie Knight is a good example of this genre. SEALs are always in demand. A man resistant to love is always in demand. Babies are a showstopper for romance readers. Ele is a wildlife photographer who has traveled the world in search of the perfect photo. She wants to have a baby and she has no man in her life. She feels like she has waited long enough so she asks her good friend, SEAL, David to father the child. They have a contract. He is under no obligation after the deal is done. They will make the baby the old-fashioned way and go their own ways. It feels wrong from the beginning. Ele finds herself, with her child, in a small African country where war is about to erupt. All of a sudden, there is David, across the patio. In his capacity as a SEAL, he is there to help avoid the war that is certain to break out when the ruler dies, if his son is not there to pick up the pieces…that he is not at the moment. Things get bad and very dangerous. David is finally able to get Ele and the baby on a plane back to safety. He misses her. Lots. He finally makes the decision to get out of the military and see if she wants a life with him.
The Seal’s Baby Deal is an easy read with an ending that is in view from the first page of the book. Does that make it bad? No, indeed, it does not. Knight is a good storyteller and this is a good story, if simplistic. I recommend it to readers of the genre.
I received a free ARC of The Seal’s Baby Deal from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions and interpretations are solely my own.
Ele Thorton and David Hettinger have been best friends since childhood. David is a Navy Seal who has never wanted kids, not with his job, and a past that showed him that love wasn’t for him. Ele is a wildlife photographer who is approaching 30 and wants a baby. Ele only has one man in mind to be her baby daddy, David. David and Ele have always secretly loved each and wondered what it would be like to be with each other, but they never wanted to cross the line that could ruin their friendship. Both are disappointed when their time is cut short when Ele gets pregnant. David is deployed shortly thereafter, and Ele is left to have the daughter by herself. Their paths cross again in Africa when David is on a mission with his Seal team, and Ele is there to take photos for a documentary. David will so whatever he needs to to protect Ele and Rose when the King dies before his team can get the King’s son home. David and Ele find it hard to fight their attraction to each other and give into their explosive chemistry. Even with the danger surrounding them, David finds himself longing for more time with Ele and Rose. Will David confess his feelings to Ele? Will David realize that Ele and Rose are his future? Will David choose the Seals over Ele and Rose? Can Ele and David overcome obstacles and find their happily ever after? I really enjoyed The Seal’s Baby Deal by Katie Knight. I would definitely recommend getting The Seal’s Baby Deal. I also received an ARC of this book from Bad Boy Update, and I am leaving my honest review.

Ele and David are friends from childhood. David didn’t had issues during childhood and Ele from a bad relationship. When they make a deal for David to father a child with Ele he promises to have nothing to do with the child. I am glad that when they see each other again in South Africa they are able to develop a relationship together and have their happy ending.

David and Eleanor have been friends since childhood. After her divorce, she turns to David for the one thing she wants and that is a child. They both sign a contract and get right to business. A great story line with well developed characters made for an amazing read.
Ms Knight definitely doesn’t miss a beat in bringing us this friends with lover’s story with a twist.
David is a Seal and Eleanor is a photographer who have been best friends since elementary school.
They both harbored their true feelings for one another until one day, Eleanor solicits help from David
to conceive a child with no strings attached. Shortly thereafter, Rose was born and David was shipped out
for a mission. Little did he know that their paths would cross again which ignited their passions. The danger
that David faces deters him from making any sort of commitment when he was captured.
This book kept me up all night till I finished it.
I can’t wait to read the next story from Ms Knight.

I received the ARC from Bad Boy Update. Loved this!! Ele and David have been best friends forever, even through his SEAL deployments and her disastrous marriage. They have always been attracted to each other but never wanted to ruin their friendship. Since her divorce Ele really wants a baby and thinks David would be the perfect person to help her, no strings attached. While on leave David reluctantly agrees to help her figuring this is the perfect arrangement. He gets Ele like he has always wanted and then he can go on with his life. Neither realized how hard goodbye would be when the time comes, but they think it is for the best. A few years later Ele is with her daughter in Africa doing a photo shoot and runs into David in a cafe. Everything gets complicated in a hurry! All the old feelings and attractions come back full force just as the danger increases around them. This is action packed, drama and passion filled story that will suck you in!
David and Ele have been friends since grade school and have even been in love since then. Growing up, David didn’t have the love and affection shown to him by his parents like other families. “he’d learned well from his parents, it was that when it came to matters of the heart, giving was much more important than receiving—meaning unless you earned love or deserved it, then you absolutely should not be taking it in from anyone.” Fortunately, Ele had always been there for him and gave him the love of friendship and companionship. When she asked him to help her get pregnant, he was happy to be the father.
Once Ele became pregnant, David had to go on his next mission and it wasn’t until when she was on assignment in Africa, by chance she and David ran into each other as he was also on assignment with the SEALS and that is when David met his daughter. The only thing that kept him from them is the contract that Ele had for getting pregnant, she would raise her child by herself.
Due to the situation of David’s assignment he had to protect Ele and his daughter. It was this situation that he was able to bond with his daughter and both Ele and David’s feelings, they were wondering to themselves if their friendship love could become more.
Once the trouble was over and both were going back to their lives, they both knew they were in love with each other, but didn’t know how to tell the other. It wasn’t until David had a talk with his buddy that he realized that love happens, it is not earned. In the end he went for it and they both found the love they deserved.

I have to say that I was a fan of Katie Knight already. You still get a great story with this book, but I was a little put off by just how independent the female lead was in this story. I am all for an independent woman, but Ele is the epitome of not knowing when to admit that you need help. I really thought at one point that she would rather get everyone killed than to let someone help her. David made me swoon with just how much he loved Ele, almost to a fault. Other than the issue with Ele’s stubbornness, the chemistry was wonderful and the plot itself delivered.

Well worth
Ele is a photographer, and her biological clock is ticking. David is a SEAL, and not ready for a family. She asks him for just one favor before he deploys again. They’ve had secret feelings for each other for years, but they’re best friends… She’s in Kokondi with her toddler daughter, on assignment. He’s there with his SEAL team because of possible political upheaval when the leader of the country passes away. They’re both surprised to see the other. I really enjoyed this book – there’s so much action, as well as a wonderful secret romance brewing. I read it in one sitting – just could not put it down.

Call him baby daddy.
I enjoyed this best friends to baby making couple a lot. Why? Ele was divorced and independent (a photographer) and she decides her biological clock is ticking. Hard.
Her bff David doesn’t do relationships or love or kids. Nope.
But they both agree to do the deed the old fashioned way.
But things are never easy, what with a deployment and drama and a baby.
Recommend.
