I enjoyed reading the adventures of the Seafaring Rouges. Sky Purington has provided a story filled with romance, magic and pirates. The characters and plot are both developed and interesting. This is a wonderful and intriguing read.
In my opinion, Sky Purington’s novels never disappoint. The Seafaring Rogue is an captivating story filled with emotional turmoil. The characters are very multidimensional, well developed, and passionate providing excitement and suspense as they are often embroiled in the continuous emotions of love, hate, revenge, betrayal and redemption. If you enjoy an exciting, fast paced, non stop romance that takes you on an emotional roller coaster filled with mystery and a wee bit of Scottish mythicism, then this is a don’t miss adventure. Follow Fraser MacLomain and Elspeth MacLauchlin on their quest for love, revenge, and happiness.
This book number eight in “The Pirates of Britannia” by Skye Purington was one of my favorites. The book has all you need to enjoy a good swashbuckling pirate story, and a wonderful love story towering over it all. Fraser MacLomain is found on the shore by Elspeth MacLaughlin and her brother Douglas, he is injured and confused not really knowing who he is, all he can hear is a lovely soothing voice and cool hands tending him Elspeth is her clan’s healer and soon has him on his way to recovery, and so our adventure begins. Fraser and Elspeth soon find love, but before that love has time to grow her village is attacked and she is taken captive, Fraser has been told she is dead, and seeks revenge against the pirate Etienne du Blanc who took her. Treasure is at the bottom of this story and the evil men who seek it, not caring who they kill to get it. After two years Fraser finds Elspeth is alive and together they take down those who kept her captive, but before they can be together a lot happens, the story has a lot of fighting, kidnapping and surprises to keep you interested. Fraser and his clan are shrouded in tales of druids and magic. Elspeth’s people are the holders of a great treasure, and so the tale goes. They do find their happy ending, so I invite you to enjoy the journey with them. Happy reading.
Fraser wakes up on a beach in Scotland, badly injured, not aware of how he arrived there or even of his identity. He hears the voice of a woman, Elspeth, who has aided in his rescue, and is enthralled. The two begin to fall for each other and just as they are to begin their life together tragedy strikes. Compelled to seek revenge, Fraser hardens and becomes an infamous pirate, roaming the seas, chasing after his mortal enemy. Thus begins the tale of this Seafaring Rogue.
A wonderful plot filled with interesting characters, plenty of action and intrigue, and heated romance. This was a fun tale from beginning to end. It would be interesting to read stories of at least two of the characters, Innis and Auldric, in the future, as they were both colorful fellows.
I recommend this book to romance readers who enjoy pirates, the high seas, and a lusty hea.
Fraser MacLomain has lost his memory. He has been ins fight and hit his head very hard. A beautiful woman, Elspeth MacLauchin, was taking care of him. He becomes her champion and falls in love. He is unsure of his own history but knows he loves this lovely, opinionated wench. Their story becomes fraught with peril and kidnapping. It circles around to a beautiful, wonderful surprise ending. Loved the book and Sky Purrington’s writing.
I have always enjoyed books written by this author and THE SEAFARING ROGUE was a delight. Set in Scotland, during a time when magic was respected and feared, the story of Fraser and Elspeth is a fun read. The two fall in love, but are torn apart by some evil pirates looking for women and lost treasure. Years later, after Fraser believes Elspeth to be dead, they find each other again. Neither one can trust the other, but, love does finally win. And, Elspeth’s heart is finally allowed to heal after a devastating loss.

A special bond that can’t be forgotten. What a terrific story. This was the first time that I have read Sky Purington. I have enjoyed the Pirates of Britannia stories and I enjoyed this one to! This definitely won’t be the last book of Sky Purington’s that I read. I would definitely recommend this book.
Another amazing installment in the Pirates of Britannia series. I knew going in this would be a story that would keep me turning the pages quickly and it did just that! Fraser MacLomain, washes up on the shores of Scotland and he hears an angel’s voice talking to him. Badly hurt and not knowing who he was at first, Elspeth MacLauchlin, a healer, took care of him until he was well enough to go into her village. Unfortunately pirates attack and Elspeth is taken by a bloodthirsty pirate, bent on finding out all of her secrets. Yes, there are secrets that many have looked for during the years but have never understood. Fraser, determined to find her and seek revenge, becomes relentless in his pursuit and even as rumors of Elspeth’s death surface, nothing can stop him. Full of great descriptive prose and an understanding of how life was in 1448 Scotland and beyond, this story had a little of it all. Suspense, secrets, revenge and of course a love to be found only once in a lifetime. This is the first book I have read by this author and I cannot wait to read more.
Fraser MacLomain wakes up in agony, and not knowing who he is or where he is. It’s obvious he has been injured in some battle. There seems to be an angel looking after him.
Elspeth MacLauchlin found the very badly wounded warrior on the beach, but dared not let those in her village know about him. They have lost too much to strangers from the sea. Pirates can be dangerous or helpful depending on who they are.
This story will surprise you many times. Nothing goes as you think it will. Vengeance and anger will control much of what our main characters do. Vicious pirates out looking for treasure, and incredible sea battles.
Really good, exciting fun.
