Starship Repair and Society MannersShe dreamed of adventuring across the stars as captain of her own sleek ship. Then Anailu Xindar grew up.She didn’t lose her dream – she changed it; made it practical. With her newly minted Imperial Shipmaster’s License in hand, Anailu just needs to find and buy a cheap, reliable freighter. Instead, she ends up making a crazy deal for an impractical, rare ship that’s long on beauty – but short a few critical components.
She’s determined to get her crippled ship back out among the stars, but her technical skills won’t be enough. Anailu will have to brave the dangers of a planet on the edge of the empire: safaris, formal dinners, rogue robots, and a fashion designer.
She may even have to make a few friends – and enemies.
The Sculpted Ship is set on the outskirts of a thousand-year interstellar empire, where a young woman with ambition, skill, and manners has a chance to achieve her dreams.

Where is book two? Come on, you wrote a good book with a promise of another, where is it? Don’t leave me hanging.
A very good story! Waiting for the next edition.
One of those books I was sad to finish.
Good read. Interesting characters.
I found the story line very interesting. Hope the author writes a sequel.
I like stories of starship captain owners of their ship . This is about a young engineer that saved enough to by used starship that had to be repaired . I enjoyed this on very much would recommend it .
Slow moving. It feels more like an incredibly long back history for the main character than an actual story.
Great premise, can’t wait for the next book!
I liked the Characters, the backstory, and world building.
I would like to read the next-in-series when available.
A good, fun, SciFi read.
Can’t wait to see the next book
A refreshing change from everyone having an evil agenda, a realistic balance of good and evil character weighted , as in reality, strongly towards the former
The entire book seemed to be laying ground work for a series. The character development is good but in the end I was left hanging.
Original story line, but the telling was uneven. I enjoyed it.
Absolutely wonderful. I hope this is the first of as series.
I read this book quickly and can’t wait for more about these same characters. They are unique and positive as they move through their difficult situations. This story is really just starting.
Interesting sci-fi story. I’m looking foward to reading the next one in this world.
I loved the stripped luxury ship she gets off the ground with her engineering skill. The dream designer closet and makeup machines that Jane Jetson would have had and the robotic companions were terrifically intriguing. It started slow with lengthy mechanical and etiquette descriptions, but the imaginative futuristic world eventually made up for it. The on board manufacturing and hidden panels make anything possible as this story continues. Curiously, most characters were female with males too young or too old. 5 stars would have been given to a cleaner editing job catching all the missing, duplicated, and wrong wood choices – but the story made up for the lack of mechanics. I’m looking forward to reading more books in this series. RECOMMENDED!!!
Fun read
