Not your normal Space Science Fiction book. More fixing problems type of story, instead of combat. I liked this story a lot.
This book made me feel that even I could become the owner of a treasure of a starship with a little luck and a lot of skill. There were lots of plot twists and I never lost interest in the action or the characters. Great protagonist, good plot, and great detail that puts you right into the action. I loved it!
Fun and an interesting protagonist, author has a tendency to tell rather than show but i enjoyed it, kept me turning the pages. I will pick up the inevitable sequal.
I do not recommend this book.
Couldn’t put down.
A classic sci-fi story, almost a throwback to 1950s-60s SciFi
I have to admit that i read this book years ago and don’t truly remember the specifics. But I do remember that I loved it. I often go back to see if the author has since written anything else, as I’d purchase it in a New York Minute. But alas. So far my waiting has been unfulfilled. But that aside, this book is wonderful. So wonderful that the glow from it has lasted years.
A very captivating story. Cannot wait until the saga continues.
Good story and more than a military scifi book. Can’t wait for the sequel which seems to be a long time coming.
Well done and with a hint of things to come. Good author and looking forward to reading more.
I enjoyed very much the author’s approach, which depends on having his characters win with a finely crafted plan rather than by shoot-out. Also, I loved the beautiful ship.
A lot of fun to read. The characters are very entertaining. Waiting to read the next book.
I enjoyed this book for the way the author added twists to the story. I also like the way that the author presented both the main characters and supportive characters. The author also left the story complete and uncomplete. SO many curiosities left open to consider so many possibilities for the story line to explore. I look forward to the next installment.
Want follow up book!
some editorial problems, but original story and entertaining. follow-up story promised a year ago, but still not out.
Interesting plot with many unanswered questions to be addressed in future volumes. I’m impressed that the author did not feel it necessary to impose the unanswered questions on the reader as they were not essential to the plot of this first book in the series.
A great read, good entertainment!
Can you have a space opera where there is no violence, where you learn something new on every page, and where the heroine is a one of a kind gray humanoid? YES! Wonderful writing. Great little touches. Characters who are not over the top, but quite real. Reactions are natural. The reader says “I would do that.” The author makes you wish this weren’t his only book so far. I’m only about 40% through because I don’t want to rush it. Want to savor each event like jewels on a beautifully crafted necklace. My footsteps echo in the cargo bays. My eyes admire the craftsmanship of the ship. I crawl into the details and wish I could go along on the trips even though… I better stop. I’ll give things away. If you like sci fi READ THIS BOOK!
