Christy Pastore has reworked her Scripted Duet and the outcome is fantastic! This is a great reread for those who read the previous version. It is an amazing read for those just discovering Pastore. Her writing has grown through the years and it shows in this novel. The Scripted Duet features a Hollywood Actor, but it is so much more than a ‘Hollywood romance’.
Who doesn’t love to swoon over a famous actor? Not to mention, a loving father. Ronan is classy, sexy, and a gentleman. Everything you look for in a book boyfriend. I felt Holliday was a strong heroine. a perfect match for Ronan with the right mix of hurt in her past. The cliffhanger ending was so good! For those who are impatient, no worries….the conclusion is included in this set.
I felt like Ronan and Holliday’s relationship was more real in this one. We had a good dose of insta-love done right in the first one and then their relationship became so much more in Perfectly Scripted.
Ronan and Holliday worked through many obstacles and it was nice to see them conquer together. I really adored both of them.
The climax of the story hit me with so many feels. I knew the characters were making the right decision for themselves but it still gutted me. I felt extremely torn but the resolution was worth it. I really enjoyed the ending. It was the best way for Ronan and Holliday to say goodbye!
OH my love of Ronan is real!!! This story was amazing

Ronan and Holliday’s story is one that swept me away from the beginning to the cold streets of New York City and celebrities. This story is beautifully penned with depth and meaning, not only taking you on a romance but also sharing a message of strength that exists after living inexplicable experiences.
Pastore, using her signature imagery, will pull at your emotions, placing you front and center, as if you were living the scenes along with the characters. Like it’s very own Hollywood movie.
I’m excited to continue the journey with these characters and watch the rest of their story unfold. A definite must-read!
Perfectly Scripted
The second book in this duet pushed me over the edge, falling even more in love with this story. Full of angst, sweet moments, and steam, Perfectly Scripted is the epitome of romance novels.
Holliday and Ronan continue to grow as a couple and individuals. Ronan’s protection and care for Holliday is what every woman dreams of. Pastore has, once again, created a story that brings about a flurry of emotions.
Unscripted and Perfectly Scripted Together!
Christy Pastore pulls together and revises both Unscripted and Perfectly Scripted in a duet that allows the reader to carry through the romance of Holliday and Ronan the way it should be. I did not read these books in their prior form, so I can’t say if the revisions are an improvement, but I can say, this duet was an emotional ride to love.
Holliday is a strong woman who has had a rough past but has come out the other side with the help of therapy, friends and family. She comes across 2 sweet little girls who appear to be alone. But she finds that they are not, and their father is a hot movie star Ronan Connolly! And he is even hotter and nicer in person! The two connect and they start dating (something he had no intention of doing before meeting the sweet, sassy Holliday!). Of course Ronan has an ex-wife and he needs to make sure she understands his new situations. This book ends on a cliffhanger, but luckily, book 2 Perfectly Scripted is included in this duet!
Again, this book has been revised from its original, but as I haven’t read the original, I can’t comment on the revisions. In this book Ronan is looking for the guy who hurt Holliday, but she doesn’t know he’s doing so. Then more things happen, driving a wedge between the two lovers. Holliday needs to take a good look at her life and realize she is entitled to happiness and love. The question is, is Ronan the right person for Holliday after the two work their way through everything.
Christy Pastore is a wonderful story teller, making you feel the feels throughout these books, whether its suspense, love, chemistry, sadness or desperation. This is a book set that stays with you long after you’ve finished!
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.
I loved every minute of rereading this whirlwind romance. I was reminded of all that is Ronan and Holliday and all the trials they faced on their path to each other. It was fun living in the spotlight with these two again. These revised editions are even hotter than I remember! Hot, scorching, set the pages on fire electricity shooting from every encounter.
Having Ronans perspective added more depth to the story so I was never left questioning. His filthy mouth was intensified and I couldn’t help reading in his accent. Holliday is still such a strong character but we get to see more of her vulnerable side when everything comes to the surface.
With these two books together I didn’t have the torture of waiting to find out how their story unfolded, I got to enjoy the whole thing at once. The whole lust filled, gut wrenching, headline inducing story all at once.
I was also able to reconnect with characters from some of her other books and series and now feel as if I need to check in with them again.
If you haven’t read Pastore’s books before this is a perfect duet to get you started.
Unscripted:
I’m not sure what is with all these authors writing about Irish men but I really want one now. I think the only way this book could get better would be listening to the audiobook. I swooned enough just reading the words. Roman was dreamy and oh, so naughty. I need a shot of something after reading that book. Who wouldn’t want to be in Holliday’s shoes when it comes to being in the presence of Hollywood’s hottest actors in and out of the sheets?
Perfectly Scripted:
The second part of this story is Holliday and Ronan’s road to falling in love. It still has the steam and passion from the first book, but now there’s more feelings, and they aren’t as warm and cozy as Holliday’s Chocolate Kiss. The paparazzi is rampant with photos, secrets, rumors and lies. It’s getting scandalous when old baggage comes to light and sacrifices are made which could possibly tear the couple apart. It’s like watching a soap opera. It was such a great read!
No Teasers, just facts here! Christy Pastore’s revised versions of these stories are outstanding!! She’s made her stars bigger and better! Holliday is a strong, hot, kick-ass role model of not letting the past take her life from her today. Ronan is still the sexy, swoon-worthy, hot dad of Hollywood but his extra shot of confidence and Irish charm make him the sexier leading man. Their chemistry is still as off-the-charts hot and not to be missed! Very hot and binge-worthy as before but with more depth, enhanced storylines and you will most definitely need to keep the ice bucket near and a cold shower on stand-by! Don’t miss this fabulous updated version of a classic Hollywood love story!
Ronan Connolly. Oh my! Sexy Irish actor AND an adorable dad? Yes!!
Holliday is drawn to him right away but why would a Hollywood heartthrob be interested in an ordinary girl? Yet he woos her and breaks through all her barriers.
But when Holliday’s past threatens Ronan’s future, this girl may have no choice but to walk away.
I absolutely loved it! There was so much chemistry and spark between Holliday and Ronan. A must read!
Unscripted (The Scripted Series Book 1)
**Warning: Please note this novel contains explicit sexual content and crude language and is intended for mature audiences.
If you fell in love with Ronan Connolly and Holliday Prescott in Unscripted 1.0 (2014), you will fall harder in love with them in Unscripted 2.0!
I am a huge fan of dual POV’s and Ms. Pastore has given us the opportunity to hear from both Holliday and Ronan! We only got to hear from Roman in the epilogue the first time around, so this is a huge plus for me.
Ronan Connolly, seriously, I cannot get enough of him. He is sexy, strong, smart, a lit bit of an alpha and just for a moment, can we just bask in that accent of his! Currently he is taking a break from filming and is spending some time in NYC with his two best girls, Leah and Jade, his daughters.
Holliday Prescott, the stunning, smart, sexy, Charlotte Riccetti Design Executive is trying to take her life back after experiencing the trauma after a rape. She is out to prove that she can and will overcome this obstacle with the help of her family, therapy, courage and strength.
These two meet by accident and they can both “feel” that little tingle that runs through them when they are together. The push and pull of their chemistry, the constant paparazzi, the hot sex and people from their past, kept me turning the pages to see how it all unfolds.
This book ends in a cliffhanger.
Perfectly Scripted (The Scripted Series Book 2)
Warning: Recommended for readers 18+ due to strong language and explicit sexual content.
Perfectly Scripted picks up right where Unscripted ended, so we get the chance to continue failing more in love with these two characters without missing a single beat.
Ronan and Holliday are trying to figure out how to maneuver through life, the constant paparazzi, and their feelings for each other. Life is not always a paved path, but rather a path of ups and downs. Speaking of ups and downs, we need to discuss the scorching hot sex scenes!! In Perfectly Scripted 2.0 there is more passion and steam between Ronan and Holliday, so much more that you can feel it seeping through the pages.
My favorite quote in the book is, “Life is too short. Live each day to the fullest and with love”. Something I need to start doing right away! Love the ending of the story and the small glimpse into the future, ten years later!
A great read and highly recommended!!
Unscripted: 4 stars.
In part 1 of The Scripted Duet, Unscripted, we meet our couple, Holliday & Ronan, when his adorable daughters immediately find a connection with Holliday in the lobby of the York Hotel. Of course, Ronan, being the arrogant Hollywood star that he is, immediately suspects Holliday of having an angle when he sees how much she was enjoying her meeting with his daughters. Men… but Holliday, being the awesome character she is, immediately puts him in his place, and the soon after, the chase is on as Ronan realizes just how much he wants the feisty, beautiful Holliday.
I loved Unscripted. The chemistry between Holliday and Ronan is electric, and more importantly, Holliday is the perfect match for Ronan and the perfect person to keep him on his cocky toes and bring him to his knees. Holliday in particular, stood out in this first installment, and I loved finding out her backstory. She’s so strong, and has gone through so much at the point where she meets Ronan, and I love that she didn’t just simper at his feet the way he was expecting.
—————————————————————————————————-
Perfectly Scripted: 5 stars.
In Perfectly Scripted, Holliday starts off having decided to fight for their relationship, rather than to run away as she did at the end of Unscripted. The conclusion of The Scripted Duet is even stronger than the first installment, with the two having a more solid connection, and deciding to stay together. Their pasts are laid bare to each other, and they fall even deeper than before. I love how perfectly matched they are, but how strong individually they are, too. In the first part of their story, Holliday shone and stood out for me. Here in Perfectly Scripted, Ronan was the star in my eyes. His sexy but vulnerable alpha mode was in full affect and the way he loved Holliday and watched out for and took care of her, all while acknowledging, and loving, how strong she was, was swoon worthy!
Ronan and Holliday’s story is sexy, swoony and perfectly told. I love that this was re-released and given new covers, because it really is a wonderful romance with two amazing characters that everyone should get a chance to read!
I am a fan of Christy Pastore and her last book, The First Lights was one of my fave reads of 2018. That being said, I was excited to dive into Ronan and Holliday’s story. Set in the bustling metropolis of NYC, Ronan and Holliday are two people who find each other in the unlikeliest of places under unexpected circumstances. Both characters are battling their own issues, but in the mist of it all find a connection. While their journey is twisty and they have their challenges, it is one that is sexy, emotional and uniquely their own.
Write Your Own Love Story!
Unscripted- We Should All Go Off Script!
Unscripted is a steamy and emotional romance that ensnared me with endearing characters and a magical seed of hope. Holliday and Ronan meet in an unexpected manner in the beautiful backdrop of a New York winter. I loved their initial interaction. It was unplanned and without pretense. The interest in one another was apparent. However, neither of them were prepared to act on attraction alone. Their next interaction was not quite as pleasant. It was a moment of presumption and cynicism that lead to intrigue and candor. From there, Ronan’s pursuit of Holliday is tenacious. Ronan has been burnt by love in the past. Holliday is a survivor of a heinous attack resulting from a past relationship. They both have good reason to build walls. Yet, the sexual tension is fierce and filled with anticipation. The passion between Ronan and Holliday intensifies as their connection builds. Their love story barrels along at a whirlwind pace. Ms. Pastore showers the reader with details and intimacies that add support in solidifying their love. The only things standing in the way of a HEA: past mistakes, misguided good intentions, and unwanted media attention. This is book 1 in The Scripted Duet and therefore ends on a cliffhanger. It’s one that has me yearning for more!
Perfectly Scripted- Let Love Lead You!
Perfectly Scripted is book 2 in the Scripted Duet. I was anxious to read the conclusion to Holliday and Ronan’s love story and Ms. Pastore did not disappoint me. She quickly resolved the issue that threatened to separate Holliday and Ronan, which I truly appreciated. There was no drawn out drama. This couple decided to communicate, trust, and leap. They worked to control the narrative in the media. They reveled in their time together and their bond continued to grow. However, Ronan was quietly keeping an eye on Holliday’s attacker. He was determined to keep her safe. Holliday understood Ronan’s need to protect her and agreed to have a bodyguard. As love flourished between Holliday and Ronan, fear needled its way into Holliday’s psyche. She fought hard to put the fear behind her. That fear was tested, when the past showed himself. Holliday is a survivor! With a bit of help from Ronan she defeats her demons. Yet, her confidence is shaken a bit. She doesn’t want Ronan to suffer due to her past mistakes. Once again, she tries to sacrifice her happiness to protect Ronan. During their time apart Holliday realizes that love is rare and happiness is worth fighting for. Ronan has never stopped hoping that Holliday would find her way back to him. He gives her space, but she is never far from his heart. These two come together ready to take on the world. Their journey is hard fought and forged with love. The trust they find within themselves adds to the trust they have in one another. Their love story is filled with hope, heart, and triumph! Perfectly Scripted is a well written, heartwarming tale of life and love.
**Both books are included in the duet**
Unscripted– Ms. Pastore has updated and revised her original book and holy moly she took the book, which was already a 10 to another swoon-worthy hotness level of like 20!!
This was still such an emotional book. You get the hot, handsome Irish hero and the brave, smart, sassy yet tortured heroine who meets the hero and away this book goes. Holliday was minding her own business when she meets these two sweet little girls who look to be without any parents and in trying to find out who they belong to when, she hears the hottest voice and then she sees the body the voice goes to- Ronan Connolly- Hollywood’s hottest movie star. He is a single father to the girls-and what a sexy daddy does he make- Holliday and Ronan have this instant and potent connection-the chemistry is immediate –Its Explosive, Hot and full of passionate.
The story is fast-paced and emotional. You get into Holliday’s background and find out why/who is today; why she is fierce woman –she could have fallen apart and become another number but instead came out this gusty and determined woman after all she went thru. She had therapy, the support of friends and family(well mostly from certain people in the family) She meets this awesome guy who happens to be a MOVIE STAR-go figure AND they connect. That is where the title of the book comes in “unscripted”-nothing in life is scripted- you go with the flow-take what life throws at you and roll with the punches-literally and figuratively. Ronan is one Irish hottie who is a single dad who happens to be a movie star. He takes being a dad very seriously and when he happen to meet a very sweet and sassy lass who is sexy looking, well, maybe the dating thing he might need to rethink. Their love story will win you over and her story will have you in tears –and their love story is truly heartwarming. Ronan also has an ex wife issue but don’t let the irish accent think he is a push over-nope. She will be schooled. There is drama and angst due to Holliday’s past and things end in a cliffhanger which means there is a book 2– yea- for there is more Ronan and Holliday.
This was at times a bit of a dark story because of some of the backstory of Holliday’s but the love story of Ronan and Holliday’s makes up for it and the HEA sure makes up for it.. I hope Holliday’s sister Charlotte gets her own story-when you read this story, you will understand why say this.
Book 2- Perfectly Scripted: Ms. Pastore again has updated her original book and revised the content to take what was already awesome and bring it to sheer perfection. I loved book 1 “ Unscripted” because it had some much heart, heat drama and feels packed into one book—now book 2 is a continuation of the series and it picks up pretty much where book 1 left off.
Ronan is working on finding that guy who hurt Holliday but is doing it behind her back so she won’t be hurt. Ronan goes all alpha male into trying to keep Holliday safe. Sometimes, he went way overboard. Holliday just was loving the fact she was loved but soon there are bumps in the road. There are bumps and then there are HUGE BOULDERS that come crashing down to cause major frictions in their relationship. The nightmare that was in Holliday’s past comes roaring back and then the trust that Holliday had for Ronan was broken. There are twists/turns in this story that make this duology my favorite duo book. I love the main characters and Ronan is my new book boyfriend. The places, the supporting characters make this a great story. What I enjoyed about this final story in the duology is watching Holliday overcoming what happened to her in the past and realizing she had a right to happiness. Holliday is one sassy, sweet and lovely woman who embraced her happiness; Ronan is a alpha male who didn’t apologize, didn’t give excuses for being who he is and he took what he wanted but when it came to Holliday, all he wanted was her happiness , He was such an alpha male and that was what made him such an Irish hunk. This book is wonderful and I would love to see a book about Charlotte. As I said before, I will say again—there is a story there about her and it really needs to be told. Her and her husband sound like they have this story and I would totally be interested in reading “their” story. As for Ronan and Holliday, you cant go wrong, this is a fantastic love story that you will read and re-read over and over again. There is so many feels in this story but by the end, you will be sad Ronan and Holliday’s story is over. Ms. Pastore really has written a beautiful story that has the feels, the chemistry, the love and the romance.
My rating: 5.0 stars *****
*** 4.5 Stars ***
The Scripted Duet Box Set by Christy Pastore is a steamy, contemporary romance told in dual POV.
Book 1: Unscripted – 5 stars
As part one in the duet, it ends in a cliffhanger.
Fashion executive, Holliday Prescott, never expected to meet Hollywood actor, Ronan Connolly, let alone engage in a sexual relationship with him, but after running into him in a hotel lobby and then again on the job for a magazine shoot that’s exactly what happened.
Ronan and Holliday can’t get enough of each other, and what begins as purely sexual quickly evolves into more. So much more, in fact, that Ronan wants to live together. But when a former friend threatens to reveal Holliday’s past, she knows she needs to break things off for Ronan’s safety and also her own.
I really enjoyed this story. It was fast-paced, the characters were great and their chemistry was blazing. I was hooked from the start and read it all in one sitting. Full of scorching hot, sexy times and dramatic twists. I couldn’t wait to read the next book.
Book 2: Perfectly Scripted – 4 Stars
The story picks up where Unscripted ended and concludes the duet.
Ronan and Holliday face several challenges navigating their relationship while in the spotlight. From relentless paparazzi, manipulative exes, demons from the past, and danger lurking around the corner, they have a tough road ahead.
After the cliffhanger in the previous book, I was expecting a little more action and excitement than what was presented in this one. It just seemed like the conflicts that arose were resolved a bit too quickly and easily.
Overall, I really enjoyed the story. I loved how Ronan and Holliday were able to overcome obstacles to find their happy ending. This book was just as steamy as the last one, and a satisfying ending to the duet.
*** I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC. ***
