Don’t miss the hot new romantic comedy follow-up to the smash hit The Charmer… Tyler Jacobson has a plan for everything–except how to handle his completely annoying, utterly frustrating, and totally sexy upstairs neighbor. He couldn’t care less if Everly Ribinski thinks he’s equally irritating–until he discovers she’s the only one who can help him land a business deal that will finally make … deal that will finally make him feel like he’s more than just a guy from the wrong side of the tracks.
Color him shocked when Everly refuses to help, insisting she should have run him over in the parking garage when she had the chance. Harsh. But possibly deserved. Tyler may have spent the last few months reveling in annoying the fiery gallery owner with a dark past, but he’s got secret leverage she can’t refuse.
If only they could stop trying to one-up each other long enough to realize the pranks are nothing more than foreplay. Of course, he figures it out quicker. He’s smart like that. Too bad Everly wants nothing to do with him. Or does she? Wait. What is she up to now?
For a man who’s always scheming, the best-laid plans never felt so good falling apart…

Avery Flynn is a paragon of perfect romcoms. She knows her craft backward and forwards and it shows in each and every book that she writes.
The Schemer captured my attention right from the start. Flynn really knows how to charm the pants off of me with every story that she tells. This book had me hypnotized until the very end. I love how the pacing in Flynn’s books is always spot on. The plot is never rushed or dragging. Just smooth sailing. The world-building always impresses me in her books. I always feel like I am right there living the story myself.
Tyler and Everly were outstanding characters. I loved their distinct personalities and the relationships that they had with the other characters. Tyler and Everly are both very proud characters so, as you can imagine, they bumped heads a lot. Both Tyler and Everly have significant character growth throughout the story. Each of them has to deal with the ghosts of their pasts in their own way. I adored all the cameos from characters from other Flynn books set in this world. I just love how connected this universe is and it’s always a joy to see a familiar character or two pop up in other books.
I love how the characters in Flynn’s books always have such a significant and genuine connection. You never doubt the sincerity of their chemistry for a moment. It always feels so organic and real. Tyler and Everly definitely had that and their chemistry was a tangible thing. So electric and immediate. I really loved how both Tyler and Everly came from humble upbringings and then went on to really make something of themselves. They really had a lot in common underneath it all. The difference between them is that Everly was proud of who she was and she wasn’t trying to run from her past like Tyler was. Tyler was a little slow on the uptake regarding how he felt about Everly, but once he figured it out there was no stopping him from getting his woman. I also really loved how Everly wouldn’t settle for anything less than what she knew she deserved from Tyler before Tyler figured things out.
I very much loved the side story between Helene Carlyle and Alberto Ferranti. We got to meet Helene in the two previous books in this series. She is Sawyer and Hudson’s mother and her second chance at love really touched my heart. I am so glad that Flynn included this in the book.
Overall, this was such a delightful story! This book is a whirlwind of emotions, humor, and steamy scenes that will make you fan your face. If you enjoy lovable characters, captivating storytelling, and sensational world-building then I urge you to pick up an Avery Flynn romance and join the dark side. :evil grin:

I really enjoyed this story. I thought it was well written and a great storyline. I really thought the characters were wonderful. They had good chemistry.
Tyler & Everly
Tyler is a savvy business man. He is successful, smart, persistent and handsome. Although he was not raised with wealth he has always been out to prove himself. He is best friends with Sawyer and Hudson or are the leading men from the first two books in this series. Tyler owns the building that he lives in and when Everly moves into the apartment above him he soon realizes that she is a challenge. She absolutely drives him crazy. She waltzes around upstairs in her heels, she is sassy, gruff and certainly speaks her mind. It wears down his resolve and infuriates Tyler to no end!
Everly has found the perfect apartment. She is a gal wo has worked hard for everything that she has . Being from the wrong side of the tracks she is always proving herself and clawing her way through life. All is good except for the tenant downstairs, he is cocky, arrogant and full of himself but he is certainly easy on the eyes!
When these two characters finally spar it will not disappoint ! They are funny, sexy and their banter is comical! Loved them !

A Perfect Scheme!
The Schemer is a fun, steamy read. The chemistry and banter between Tyler and Everly is hot, humorous, and refreshing. Everly is smart, feisty, skeptical but proud of who she his. Tyler is focused, determined, and trying to outrun his past. He wants to be seen as more than his impovrished beginning. Their relationship starts out on the wrong foot and continues with several missteps that lead to clash after clash. The push and pull catapults into foreplay, scorching sex, and then more. In order to be together both Tyler and Everly have to face their fears and decide if love is worth the fight. Great read with interesting side characters and subplots. Very entertaining!
This was a fabulous book. Strangers to frenemies to lovers, what is not to love. From the minute Tyler and Everly met there were fireworks. Tyler meets Everly as she is moving into her apartment and unintentionally insults her about her accent. Everly calls the fire department on Tyler’s cooking not realizing the smoke is from his cooking. The sexual tension and arguing starts there. When these two finally get together WOW! The chemistry between these two is out of control. The sex is HOT!
These two are perfect together but Tyler doesn’t see it, he thinks he needs someone “polished” to fit into the life he has made. Everly doesn’t fit his ideal woman because she is happy with who she is and is happy with where she came from. Tyler is not and has done everything he can to wipe his past away but that never works. Even though Tyler tried to forget his past whenever he had a problem he turned to his friend Frankie from his old neighborhood. After a heart to heart he realizes the neighborhood he grew up in was looking out for him when he was a child he just never knew to what extent.
Everly’s friend, Alberto, met and fell for Helene(Sawyer & Hudson’s mother). It was great to have their story here also. Helene was a great matchmaker for her son’s and with the help of Alberto was a matchmaker for Tyler and Everly.
This book was great and I couldn’t put it down. I enjoyed it as much as I have the other books in this series.
Tyler…yeah, Tyler is a piece of work and needs a lot of understanding and a slap up side the head to come out of himself but once he does all is well. Everly moves in upstairs and she and her high heels just about drive him crazy but so does the rest of her, her accent, her loyalty, her sense of justice, just her. She is everything and brings out the best in Tyler. Crazy, banter, sexy, snarky, and lots of fun all the way through this one keep this one spinning to bring it to a conclusion not to be missed. Even Mama Carlyle also gets in on some loving so stay tuned!
This was an enemies to lovers book.
Tyler was a man who just wanted to be accepted. He did everything he could to forget how he grew up and schemed his way into the high society. This was a man out to prove himself and it was exhausting. He had this perfect idea in his head what he would need to “make it”. The perfect job, the perfect social circle and the perfect wife. Little did he know life doesn’t always work like that.
Everly knew where she was from and wasn’t ashamed of it. She worked hard and shared her passion of art to some of the elite in Harbor City. She saw through Tyler from the moment she met him but yet the chemistry between them was hot.
I have really enjoyed this series, but I will say this one was my least favorite out of the three. I just wanted to slap Tyler upside the head on so many occasions about how he was going about things and focusing on the non important things. I loved reading about Everly putting him in his place!
Cute
Avery is a witty author. I enjoy her style. Great characters and good friends. A basic “enemies” to lovers story. Love the cover and his eyes.
Tyler, the planning, scheming, coin flipping self-made millionaire has it all. The life he wants just the way he wants it. That is until he butts heads with his upstairs neighbor a stiletto stomping spitfire from the wrong side of the tracks. He has worked hard to improve his persona into a man who fits well with the Harbor City elite and she can drag his attitude back his wrong side of town in a flash.
There is no denying the passion that flares between them or the fact that they see each other as ‘the wrong type’ for them. But where there is smoke, there is fire and they have it in blazing reality!
The ferocious way these two go about this relationship is fun, just what they agreed to. Tack on two lovable seniors who have no qualms against match-making and you have an adorable, frustrating and so very enjoyable read. I have loved every book in this series and can’t wait to dive into The Hartigans.
My least favorite of this series. Im a fan of enemies to lovers but for me it HAS to have good banter. The way how these characters interacted then to where they got together missed the mark for me.
I loved this and loved trying to figure out what was going on with the characters who were realistic and likable
5 stars Enemies to lovers
The Schemer is book three in the Harbor City series by Avery Flynn. I fell in love with the first book and couldn’t wait to read these two stories/books. The characters and plot were well developed, real and enjoyable as was the case with the first two books. The writing was so effortless that it captured me from the beginning.
In this third book of the Harbor City series, Tyler Jacobson, multi-millionaire, has an upstairs neighbor and tenant, Everly Ribinski, who is driving him crazy with her antics. Tyler and Everly were hilarious throughout this story. Everly didn’t hide who she is and where she comes from while Tyler wanted to hide his background and that he grew up on the other side of the harbor. His childhood wasn’t easy and his parents’ relationship was toxic and volatile. They almost always took out their tempers on him. That’s why he wanted to prove that he’s more than his background/parents and that he deserves a place because he never really felt accepted. Everly lives and breathes for art. It’s her passion. She’s strong, sassy, speaks her mind and calls people out. Tyler and Everly’s chemistry is off the charts. Loved their banter and constant arguing. They were delightful, heartwarming, passionate and steamy. They made me laugh, cry, swoon root for them and they definitely stole my heart. Supporting characters were amazing and so crucial to their story and HEA.
This was such an amazing ending to series. I’m so happy I read it but sad it ended. Looking forward to read Butterface. Don’t hesitate to read these books
The Schemer is the last book in the trilogy Harbor City series. It is a stand alone issue and does not have to be read in order. This book is hot, the banter is laugh out loud funny, the plot of enemies to lovers is well written, doesn’t have a cliff hanger and has a perfect HEA. I would recommend this book because it’s just so dang awesome and once you start, you can’t put it down!
Tyler Jacobson, is born on the wrong side of the tracks and has set goals to wipe that part of his life out completely. He is a self-made millionaire and even though some of his best friends still live in Waterbury he tries not to go back home unless he has too. He has decided to move back to the very first apartment building he ever bought and with that comes a curvy, high-heel wearing, irritating, upstairs neighbor, Everly Ribinski.
Everly, is from Riverside, also the wrong side of the tracks but instead of hiding it, she is proud of it and flaunts it, which rubs Tyler the wrong way. They each take turns trying to out irritate the other. However, this is just like foreplay to them. Tyler needs and in with a hotel tycoon and Everly, who happens to own her own art gallery is very close with this person. With each encounter the fire burns hotter until they decide on a fling that will last only while it’s “fun”. When the “fun” has run it’s course, the irritant has become a distraction and he must decide if Love will outweigh his scheming ways…
Loved it. Starting sweet salvation series now, read first one and hooked on Avry Flynn.
Tyler Jacobson has worked most of his life to fit in with the Harbor City elite. Looking the part, getting rid of his accent and building a successful business are only the tip of the iceberg.
When Everly Ribinski, a no-nonsense woman with his same background comes to live in the apartment upstairs, his world would be upended. The woman is feisty and proud of who she is and where she comes from.
With his goal set in landing a business deal that could cement his reputation, Tyler will learn Everly is the one person who can give him the leverage he requires, but their not so neighborly relationship will prove a challenge to convince her to help.
This was my first read by the author and I really enjoyed this opposites attract story. Tyler and Everly are both stubborn and feisty and their attraction is off the charts, but either of them wants to get involved with the other and it definitely makes for an interesting turn of events.
I liked the push and pull between the characters and their background stories as well as the secondary characters and their play in the storyline. Always the man with a plan, Tyler will learn you don’t have to change who you are in exchange for the acceptance of those around you and the people who truly matter will love you exactly the way you are.
The Schemer is the third of Avery Flynn’s Harbor City Series. Tyler Jacobson is a very successful businessman who desperately wants to leave his working class beginnings behind. Evenly Ribinski also comes from the other side of the tracks and is making it in the art world through hard work and pluck. These two initially rub each other the wrong way, but that annoyance eventually becomes foreplay. This is a great enemies to lovers story.
The Seducer, book three in the Harbor City series by Avery Flynn is the right title for this confusing yet funny book. Tyler Jacobsen is an up and coming business man trying very hard to cover up his roots. He attended a prep school with the people who have become the movers and shakers of Harbor City and is always looking toward his next winning acquisition. One night, while jet lagged, he literally stumbles into a new tenant, Everly Ribinski , who is beautiful but has an attitude. Being exhausted Tyler walks into 3B, Everly’s apartment instead of his, 2B, and the fun begins. Their banter is hysterical.
Everly owns a gallery in the retail area of her apartment building; although pricey it is convenient. Tyler in 2B enjoys getting under her skin; he burns everything he cooks causing the Fire Department to come numerous times, he steals her favorite parking space and is always complaining about her high heels clomping around overhead, giving him headaches. Her heels are her signature style! Worst of all she finds out he is her landlord. Finally these two form a crazy kind of friendship as Everly begins to fall for Tyler, reluctantly, with both of them understanding that it will only last until it is no longer fun. Tyler decides to take advantage of one of Everly’s mentor’s and propose a huge hotel deal to him. All seems to be good, with deal working, until an outburst by Everly at a gala make Tyler say things to her that devastate her. That’s it, the fun is over. He realizes his mistake, a little too late since Everly already started changing things up. At this point I really wanted to shake them both!
This book is a fun romantic comedy, a hilarious heroine, and great characters.
I have to say this wasn’t my favorite book in the series as I loved the first two but I can still recommend this book to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
The Schemer by Avery Flynn is the third book in her Harbor City series. Another flirty, fun, sexy, romantic story told in dual POV between Tyler Jacobson and Everly Ribinski. This can be read as a standalone but is better read in series order. Each book continues with another couples story along a progressing timeline.
Tyler has worked extremely hard to egt where he is. He is now rubbing shoulders and doing business with the Harbor City elite, regardless of his blue-collar birth place across the harbor. Voice coaching to get rid of his “wrong side of the tracks” accents and always a plan laid out at least six-steps ahead. He excels at reading people which is why he is beyond baffled at the epic failure of his first meeting with Everly, his upstairs neighbor and all-around beautiful woman. Although, it may have something to do with him placing his foot in his mouth in EPIC proportions the very first time they met – maybe.
Everly has successfully opened her own art gallery and is making it, barely, but she is doing it. She is proud of where she came from, not embarrassed by her blue-collar background at all. When Tyler suggests a voice coach for her accent her hackles are up right away, but she manages to not tear him down, he is, after all, her downstairs neighbor. But when he just keeps stepping it where she is concerned a feud begins between them. One that enjoys just as much one-on-one time (sex) as it does fighting. But can Tyler ever get past her lack of embarrassment at her upbringing or trust that she can fit into the upper-crust niche he himself is trying to squeeze into?
Feisty, sexy to the max, laugh out loud funny and a bit emotional too, this was well-written, well-paced and decent page-turner. Enjoy!
The Schemer is an addictive read….the cover caught my eye, and when I read the synopsis I knew this was going to be a good book. I was RIGHT! I was hooked from the very beginning, the first time Tyler and Everly met. The fireworks began right then and just continued, from their trying to one-up one another to them falling in love. Tyler, who prides himself in always being in control, won’t have a clue how to deal with the fiery Everly.
“Love was crazy and out of control and overwhelming to the point where a person could lose themselves completely.”
The title for this book was perfect because Tyler is most definitely a schemer, and it has made him a success. He, like Everly, wasn’t born into privilege and money. He was determined not to be like his parents, and he worked hard to accomplish and achieve all those goals. However, somewhere along the way, he has schemed himself. He’s been so busy trying to know what people’s plots and plans, trying to come out on top, that somewhere along the way he has lost an important part of himself. As much as he has tried to not become his parents, he is becoming more like them every day, pushing away those that love him the most, especially Everly. He will have to come up with the scheme of all schemes to win her back.
I want Everly as a best friend. This woman is loyal, loving, and tough. She has had to work hard to achieve her goals, but unlike Tyler, she hasn’t lost her self-identity. She has accepted her issues with the past and has moved on from them, making it priority to make her and her Nunni’s life better. Speaking of her Nunni, I adored their relationship. It made me thankful for the relationship I had with my grandmother and made me miss her. She never hesitated to protect those she loved, even Tyler when he wouldn’t take up for himself.
One of my favorite things about the book were the added chapters about Helene and Alberto’s romance. She has spent so much time taking care of others, and it was nice to see her find someone who would take care of her and help her find happiness again.
Flynn created a sexy romantic comedy, but it also packed an emotional punch about family and self-discovery! Looking forward to reading more in this series.

Tyler is a good man with a few annoying flaws. He plans, he overthinks and his emotions never see the light of day. He has one goal. Success. Everly is a good woman with a host of flaws. She’s opinionated, moody and let’s her emotions guide her choices. When the man with a plan meets the girl with heart, all of their best laid plans go out the window and temptation rears it’s annoying head. The Schemer is the two best sides of Avery Flynn, hilariously funny and heartwarmingly delicious. Ms. Flynn let’s more humor shine through with the Harbor City series, but she never forgets how appealing speaking to the heart can be.
