Braxton has spent six years running from his past and the memories that haunt him. The loss of the girl who owns his heart and his best friend unleashed the dark in him. Part of a world of crime and murder, Brax knows he’s reached a breaking point and something’s got to give. He has to find her – Isabelle. The girl he’s loved since she saved him that fateful day when they were nothing more than … day when they were nothing more than just kids. The day she went away was the day he lost his heart.
That was the day he became everyone’s worst nightmare.
He became a monster. He is hated, feared, and has nothing left to live for.
Isabelle has lived the last six years of her life without hope and in total isolation. Now she finds herself in the clutches of evil with no way out.
All she dreams of is to be reunited with the one boy who showed her what it means to truly be loved. Without him, she’s surrendered herself to an existence she doesn’t know how to escape.
In a moment that will change both of their lives forever, Brax comes face to face with the girl who, for six years, captured his heart. He is unable to ignore the buried desires and the hope for the future they dreamed they’d have.
Can he save the girl he once lost, or will the fight cost him more than he could ever imagine?

This is a dark love story. Emotions : love, laughter,
crying, frustration, anger that’s what this book got out of me. Wow a heartbreaking story. I loved it
It had all my favorite things!! Emotions running rampant, I felt the losses of people, time, and chances. The darker elements lending strength to the characters, the excitement and suspense as they intertwined, the triumph of what you thought was a conclusion, only to be left slack jawed at a surprise ending!! It was a journey! I thank the Author for providing a copy to review!

This heart-pouding suspense was dark and I devoured every bit of it. I read it within a day. And I absolutely loved the steaming romance between Isabelle and Brax! The ending leaves you with a cliffhanger, so I will definitely be continuing the series. Loved this story and amazing writing
*4,5 gripping stars*
So, somehow it got lost on me that it’s a duet series so bare in mind it has a bit of a cliffhanger. I couldn’t put this book down, no matter what happened in the story and let me tell you, the story was sometimes hard to read that I had to swallow a couple of times when reading. It had me gripped from beginning until end, not knowing if there was something good inside people. I need book two now please so I know how it ends 🙂 If you love a good dark gritty read, this one’s for you!
Braxton, Travis and Isabelle met when they were teenagers and were never apart. When Isabelle dissapears one day, Braxton does everything in his power to find her but it looks like she doesn’t want to be found. But Isabelle is in a hell of her own and can’t seem to find a way to escape. Every single day both of them get more desperate and when one fateful day gives them a break, dark secrets will be revealed that it’s not all what it seems and they’ll have to do whatever it takes to make it out alive…
This one ends in a cliffhanger, so you will need Book 2 for the rest of the story. Well edited – very little to distract from the story.
Braxton, Travis, and Isabelle are childhood friends. In one terrible day, their lives are turned upside down – one goes missing, one is gone forever, and one is left broken. Braxton spends the next six years with his life spiraling ever downward, never giving up his search for the girl he loves. Isabella has been locked away for six years, dreaming of seeing her friends again. However, she escapes the ‘frying pan’ only to land in the fire. When Braxton finally finds Isabelle, it is most unexpected and he reacts quickly. However, his actions have far-reaching consequences. The world he lives in and the people he thought he could count on begin to unravel. By the end of this one, Isabella is once again in the clutches of a psychopath and Braxton has been left for dead.
Normally, I skip the crime family/MC club kind of book. This one focuses more on the circumstances surrounding Braxton, Isabelle, and Travis. Although the crime family part figures into the how and why of the story. Really, this is about never giving up on love.
